Chapter 40 - 4.6 : THREE WAY BATTLE!

"KILL HIM!"

"Looks like you were late, old man."

"Huh?"

"What? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"What? What is this place? Where are we?!"

"Oh, this dark cavern filled with asteroids flowing around without any connections to each other. Nice, isn't it? I wanted to see the idea of a limitless boundary in a limited space. Strange, isn't it? I think it's quite confusing to put it down to words."

"So, this is your inner world now? What happened? How has it changed to such a way?"

"Limitless! The word you're searching for is limitless."

"Still, it's strange."

"Oh, you're back up on your feet. I thought you were a cool, cold, and crude old man in his 40's who's relentless in anything and everything he'd do. But I didn't think you'd condense in such a manner when you've come in contact with a woman."

"Phrasing!"

"Oh, wow. You picked up a few words while you were renting my body."

"So, what do you want from me?" Charging up his mana, there he stood, ready to strike at any given moment, should he sense danger.

"Your puppet there was quite the company one could ask for. Sadly, he couldn't fulfill my wish, though he'd slipped quite the information I had hoped to seek. I would like to thank him for that. And apart from that, I would first like to be frank with you. I'm a harmless soul."

"I find that hard to believe. Especially, when one, such as you, who's been able to dictate the world flow entirely to his own liking in a matter of seconds, say that. And if you do mean what you say then why is that I see that the asteroids are circling around us, as though ready to strike us at any given moment. Quite hard to believe you, ain't it?"

"Well, glad you noticed that. See, I wanted to test out something. From what I've heard, it seems that I can channel out some energy from you without your consent. So, I wondered how much is the limit? And uh...I think I went over the board and did some serious damage. I think it just went from "curiosity killed the cat" to outright greed."

"And, what do you intend to imply here?" Growing annoyed, with his furrow raised, he was tending to seek out his restless and impatient tendencies out. An opening, in other words, for me. A dash of lightning, and a sword piercing through the shadow, only for it to be a camouflage of a boulder! Tch!

"Well, well. Not bad eh, old man. I was pretty sure that you were getting rusty, and yet, you still got your touch. Looks like it'll take me more than a cheap strike to kill you." A young kid, who looks to be in his late teens or maybe roughly around the age of 20, with a dye of Mintcream hair, fair complexion, roughly around 178-182 cms, showed up right in front of us.

"So, you ain't dead. Honestly, I'm speechless. I was sure that I killed you back that day."

"Oh, I was almost dead. But it's because of you that I was still alive."

While the grumpy old guy looked at him with a serious "What did you just say?!", the young bloke replied to him with a devilish grin on his face. He looked towards me and pointed me out.

"That kid, I intend to take his heart out, and then take over his body." She uttered those words nonchalantly that both I and the old man were bamboozled. He looked back at him. " I hope I don't have to fight you, since this tie, I won't hold back whatsoever."

Right now, we were locked up in a 3 way battle for my body. Didn't think I'd see the light of such a day in my life. While the olf man had some deadly moves hidden up his sleeve, he lacked the killing instinct that could end it all. Then, there was this mint hair dude, who only smelled of bloodlust, and yet, I don't fear him as much as I fear the other guy, meaning he lacks something.

And finally, there's me. I am powerless. But, whatever exists in this world is mine. And apart from that, from what he just mentioned, he intends to break take my heart. What does that imply? There are a lot of meanings. I have to tread carefully, as the consequences could have an impact on many innocent lives.

We were all in a deadlock with none of us having an advantage. Even if there was an advantage, it wasn't an everlasting one. I had the experience and wits to nullify it, and the guy next to him had the combat experience to take him down. But, there's only one issue. Neither of us would be willing to cooperate with the other party. Or, so I thought.

"Alright then. I'll join you. But once we take that kid out of the equation, it's only you and me, got it."

"Saving the best for the last, aren't we? I hope you can live up to my expectations."

"That's only if you don't bite the dust, just like you did the previous time."

"Heh, quite the witty one eh? Now I'm looking forward to what's in store later on."

Alright! Time out! Situation report: An old dude who was living rent-free in an ornament until some time ago is now trying to take over my body and to ensure a complete victory, he's got himself an underling. Talk about injustice and hypocrisy. There's some clear personal bias going on.

"Well, I see that I'm outnumbered 2 to 1. Looks like it's not going to go as smooth as I hoped it would have been."

"You're the one that brought him out. In other words, you dug your own grave."

"Well, I ain't that heartless you know? I shall hear out one last wish of yours if you do have any."

"Oh, I do have one. Can I whistle?"

"Uh...Sure, not that I want to know why."

"Alright!" Pheeeeeeeee....
