"Prison, you say? It sounds more like you'd rather be happy if it is that way than actually accept the fact that this is indeed your home. Why can't you though? Let me guess. This is the place where your hopes and dreams were shattered, weren't they?"
"You talk too much! I hate that about you! About how you see through things. About how perceptive you are! I hate everything about you!"
"Well, the feeling's mutual!"
"Is it? Then I don't think you'd be hurt if I take things to the extreme. Not that I'd spare a moment of my time worrying about you."
"But I would. After all, I'd be the one who'd have to report about your whereabouts in the unlikely scenario that you'd be messed up pretty badly. Not that I'm implying it in a weird manner." This is the real problem. I'm at most, the main lead from a realistic, slice of life kind of novel, and meanwhile, she's the female lead from a fictional, fantasy kind of novel.
When these two worlds collide, it doesn't bode well. Neither for the male lead, or the female lead, or the creator or writer of this biography. I'm not calling you out, my future writer. I just hope you have decent enough skill to bring out my story to the masses.
Alright, enough of going on a tangent. I'm a wimp. Utterly useless in all sense. And right now, I'm being forced to fight against the future queen of whatever world she belongs to. She hates me. The feeling's mutual. There, we've just reached the point. Now, if I may, I'd like to indulge in some intense fights rather than bicker around for another 5 chapters worth of content.
"So, is it a fight to the death then?"
"You seem awfully confident."
"I'm not."
"The way you speak doesn't sound like that though."
"Enough with the chatting."
"Alright then, brace yourself!"
From what I remember, Blake was one the strongest fighters, and he said he was in the top 30 strongest warriors last year, and this year, he would have been even higher. But he would still have to serve the queen. If that's the case, she would be in the top 10 on the list. So, that should be easy, right?
"Right, let's do..." Before I could finish my sentence, Emily was right next to me. "Huh?!"Staring me with the eyes of bloodlust, she launched an attack from the near distance. A one-hit KO attack. I was sent flying into the barren lands and rolled over until the laws of friction kicked in.
I got back on my knees, and with my hands on the ground, basically, all 4 limbs stayed in a position resembling that of a cat. It was the first time I was struggling to catch my breath. And yet, she seemed unfazed, looking down at the ground she stood. The power difference between the two of them was not even comprehensive at this point. She's at least 5 to 8 times more powerful than him.
And to top it off, she was reckless. No wonder she chose to bring me here of all places. So that she doesn't need to hold back. That being said, I can't afford to lose right now. "How long will you make me wait?" She was standing right next to me, in the blink of an eye. Again?! She charged up herself and was about to fire something.
Sadly, I'm a dumb idiot who doesn't know the basics of magic, and neither can remember the name and the significance of what that spell amounts to. I'm a disgrace to all the alchemists that were alive before me. I bet they'd be rotting and kicking inside their graves now. But that didn't matter to me, as long I understand my very own alchemy, and just use it well enough.
I grabbed the dirt and tossed it at her face but she was nowhere to be found. Instead, she attacked me from the back, this time with a different spell. How many spells does she know of? And why does she always change the element?! Is this the power of the supreme one? Even if her attacks were unrefined, she was still able to control and perform variations to her attack so neatly. And yet, she's a vicious ice queen.
"So, using your foresight to dodge my attacks huh? Not bad."
"Don't rope me in with the likes of you. It's obvious that you'd do that." I got back to my feet, with my back facing her. "Whatever you do, you can't beat me. So quit struggling, and just die."
"Is that so?" I turned towards her and showed the light emitting out from my hand. "Then, I'd like to test that." Without a moment's hesitation, I launched a garage of spikes in her direction. Noticing the sudden turn of positions, she suddenly switched from offensive to defensive mode. Huh? I was expecting her to counter my attack with another attack.
"I'm not so dumb as you think."
"So you've resorted to reading my mind now?"
"As long as one gets the result, the way it's of trivial importance."
"Yeah, when you put it like that, then I can't nitpick about it. So, I hope that you'd do the same and not be upset with me."
"Huh?" She looked at the barrier and noticed the spikes didn't disappear. The spikes started to glow fast and exploded with such force that the barriers blew apart. She covered herself, and that's when I crept close to her.
"You know, you're cute when you acknowledge your weakness."
"Huh? When?" She pulled out a sword instantly and stabbed me. It was over.
"So fast, uh?"
"Didn't expect you to do something stupid."
"Yeah, right back at you." This time, it was I, who was standing right behind her. She was dumbfounded. She was certainly not expecting that. "Hope this doesn't hurt you."
BOOM!
