Chapter 29 - 3.6 : WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON?

We are in my room, on my bed. Just the two of us. The scent that trickled down my nose from her hair that's covering my face, it is ever so pleasant, as though it is the pinnacle of Ecstacy! We are in my room, just the two of us. Alone.

I'm repeating this because of the significance of this scene. This is not a mistake. At least, this is how I shall perceive it. I can hear my heartbeat raising, and beating as though I was a race car with over 500 horses pumping my heart. Everything in my room is dead silent. No, it isn't! It's just that my heart is beating so loudly that it has taken over my ears.

Calm down! Calm down! She can read my thoughts. No, at this point, she is probably already reading them. To think that the day has finally come where I'm going to be executed but in the worst possible way, that's painful.

"Ax...Axel!" A soft voice is calling out to me. Finally, God's showing mercy and has perhaps sent an angel to escort me to heaven. Wait, heaven? After siding with the demons, that option is certainly out of the question. So, I'm basically toast.

It's time to accept the fate that is bestowed upon me. Thank you life. Why do I sound like a pathetic wimp all of a sudden? Ah, that's right. An ample bosom is pressing my chest as I'm having this internal dilemma. For someone who rarely has any luck with the ladies, to suddenly end up in such a predicament, especially with a vampire, and one that is the future queen of the demon realm, it just means one thing. MY EXECUTION!

"AXEL!" This time the soft voice let out a cry. Being perceptive of the situation that I am in, I carefully opened my eyes, to find out that I am actually on top of Emily. Surely this shouldn't end up in me getting handcuffed by the police, right?

"Ah! Sorry, my bad." I tried to move away from her but her blonde hair that was over me, and reached behind the nape of my neck, was being a hurdle at this point. "Yeah, just give a minute. I'll just sort it out."

"No, that's not the issue!"

"Huh? It's not?"

"No, that's not the issue. But it's below that."

"Below?"

I was looking down. Surely, the situation isn't worst than I'm imagining? Right? You didn't betray right, my dear body?!! I peeked a look, and luckily, for me, it just happens that we tangled our legs with each other. But I didn't have much trouble. That means it's troubling her. I let out a relieved sigh!

"Hey, it's not something to relax about. And why are so calm? You were just tense a while ago. What were you thinking?! Answer now!"

From what the old ghost man mentioned after this pact was successful, I would less of an iron-clad defense, and so would my master, also my partner, when it came to hiding any secrets and defying each other. Unless either one of us had an unbreachable will to let the other person take control, we could peek into each other's minds.

The whole idea or notion of being honest was to solidify our relationships so that in the long run, we would entrust each other's back to the other person, in the time of an unlikely battle. That being said, I can't be honest in such a situation, nor do I want her to read my mind. Time to resolve my mind and increase my fortitude.

No, not good! I'm not able to execute the task! Those soft, ample bosoms are just way too distracting. All of my focus is being redirected towards it! Hold up! This isn't a romantic comedy in the first place. But, will it remain like that? Argh! Now's not the time to think about it. After some time, I unwrapped myself from her and sat away from her.

"You know, I was able to read your thoughts back then."

"Oh, my bad. You had to go through something like that. It should have been troublesome."

"I don't think that's an apology?"

"It isn't. I won't apologize for this."

"And why's that?" Her icy glare ran down my spine. But I wasn't one to back down. Not under this circumstance.

"To be frank, I was asked to hold onto you to escape, and we did. And in doing so, we kind of lost track of what to do, and the random sequence of events ended up in such a baffling outcome. Basically, what I'm saying is, there's no fault of mine, and none of yours, just so that I can point that out before you accuse me of something unnecessary."

"Fine, I understand that. But what about the other thing. You were enjoying them, weren't you?"

"Huh? Beg your pardon?"

"You...were...enjoying...them...weren't you?" She pointed her finger towards me first, and slowly to her chest. I just sat in silence. I am neither going to confirm nor going to deny it under any circumstance.

"I'm asking you something."

"Fine! I'll let you know that I'm a man and a healthy man at that. So, as any man would, when he's with a beautiful girl in such a situation, he can't help it. No, I'm wrong! It's just me! I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that, especially when you have a boyfriend. My apologies!"

She snapped instantly. "What do you mean by that?!"

"What? You're taken, aren't you?"

"No! I'm not! Why would just assume that?"

"Ah, well. My bad."

"You're hiding something."

"Nothing."

"SAY IT!"

"It's just that...you know how you both always hang out together at college? Or something like that? There's a wild rumor going out that you're in a relationship with Blake."

"What?! That's outrageous. And you believed."

"Oh no, not with Blake."

"So you assumed I was in a relationship either way?!!!"

I was scratching the back of my neck, with an "Agh! Why did I walk into this mess?" look.

"Just so you know, I'm not dating anyone. Not now, nor in the future."
