"Wakey, Wakey." When my eyes opened, Hannah was standing above me with a huge smile on her face. What is she up to? I honestly don't want to know. When it comes to Hannah, I really don't want to know.
My eyes were trying to adjust to the sunlight creeping from the window. Hannah sat down on the bed next to me, still smiling. "What is it?" I asked, already regretting the question. Whatever it was, it wasn't good.
"Remember that guy I said you should go out with?" She asked. There was no way I was going to remember anything, especially since I just woke up. There were so many guys she said I should go out with though, so I'm not sure which one she is talking about? None came to mind.
"He works at the hospital with me." That didn't help, there were so many guys that worked with her, and she said most of them were single, and looking for someone to have a committed relationship with. Which isn't for me, and she knows that but she refuses to listen, she wants me to get over Clay, which I thought I was doing but clearly last night in the shower didn't help.
"Hannah, I really don't want," she put her hand up to stop me from talking. "Please? Just give him a chance!" She begged. "I don't even know who you're talking about?" She looked as if I had two heads, she would think I was actually paying attention. "Seriously? Brandon!" Who??
"Remember? He's one of the PA's at the hospital. I told him that you were single and he was interested and I told you a couple weeks ago he wanted to go on a date with you. Did you really forget?" Yes, I did actually. Her lips were moving, but no sound was coming out. "I'm not sure?" I get Hannah wants to be helpful, but it's starting to get annoying.
She got up from the bed and went out into the kitchen, so I got up too and followed her.
"Alright!" I said defiantly, there was no way she was going to stop asking. Hannah looked up at me and grinned, again I'm regretting this.
"You won't regret it." She said as if she knew what I was thinking. This wasn't going to go well. "Well I have to get ready to go to work." I said and went into the bathroom to get my elf costume on. I gave some thought on the position Kim wants to put me in, and maybe just maybe I'll do it.
The line was long again this morning, and all the parents started getting antsy and yelling at me for it. When I reached Kim's office I knocked at her door, and out came Benny dressed in his Santa outfit. "Hey kid." He smiled up at me. "Everything okay?" I asked. "Oh yeah, everything's good. Kim's just being a..." "A what?" Kim stood at the door with her arms folded. "Lovely lady." Nice save. Benny walked off and I walked into the office. "What can I do for you Kassie?"
"I gave it some thought, and I think I'm going to take that position."
"Great!" She said enthusiastically. "You can start now." My eyes got wide, I wasn't expecting to start right away. What exactly should I do as the head elf?
