Four years after what Grey felt to be a doomsday, the day he lost everything. His father's status in unknown and even if he is alive then there would be no way to find him or return to him. His clan, his home, the familial love he felt was commonplace, everything... Subconciously he did not heed his father's advice, after all just as that man said, it was because of his clans demonic origins that the world did not trust them.
The scarlet glow finally shot through the crack in a lower realms barrier. Nobody realised anything had passed through before the crack was immediately repaired. He had at last arrived at his intended location; the realm his father chose to send him to.
Opening his eyes, for the first time in 4 years, instead of complete darkness stood an imposing and towering rampart. Lined with warriors donning resplendent, gold plated armour, prohibiting the escape or entry of even a bird. Suprisingly even the citizens of the town were not able to leave or even allowed near the gates for that matter.
Enclosed by the imposing barricades, a modest town sat seemingly afraid to expose itself. Basic housing laid in even rows clearly in an attempt to optimise space. In contrast however, to the unappealing and monotonous outskirts, as he turned towards the centre of the surrounded area an awe inspiring palace stood in his view. protudring far into the skies as if it wanted to escape the clutches of gravity that kept them in the realm in the first place. Surrounding the palace, luxorious and colourful housing was placed. just judging by the materials and size one could see that it was atleast hundreds of times more expensive than that in the outer areas.
To Grey, the town accurately felt like an unescapable birdcage. If he attempted to leave via the gates he would undoubtedly be stopped by the guards. His instincts told him the warriors lining the walls were obviously far, far stronger than his current self, so even if he could climb the seemingly unscaleable walls the situation was completely helpless to begin with.
With no possible method of leaving the town he began to walk. With no exercise for the last four years, his limbs felt as though they were attached to several heavy rocks, each step taking several seconds to complete. Step by step he walked, ignoring the agonizing pain that assaulted his senses, his arms drooped down to his sides, long unkempt hair hanging over his face, with no aim in sight, no purpose, he simply walked.
He simply walked forward, with his only solace being the burning sensantion washing over his legs increasing with each step he took. As the townspeople saw an unknown kid in such wretched state walking along the streets, confusion covered their faces. It was rare to see someone unknown with the current state of affairs in this place and who would leave a child in such a poor state to begin with.
They speculated he had long since been abandoned by his parents or how could he possibly be in such a state.
Grey simply gave an empty, grim smile to their confusion. After all his current appearance definitely couldn't be considered appealing. He had long since outgrown his now tattered robe which was barely enough to cover himself slightly. His dishevelled hair draped over his shoulders. Dirt caked his naked skin which his robes could not cover. Luckily his clan barely needed sustenance even before they started cultivating or he would have long since starved to death during his journey.
Unambiguously ignoring the stares of the towns people, Grey directly continued his torturous, unhurried walk. Any who attempted to speak to him would only receive a blank stare before he continued as before. As he walked and walked, more and more time passed. The sun gradually fell and the moon gradually rose. Darkness enshrouded the streets as over time, less people appeared to give him strange looks of questioning.
He walked deep into the night before finally escaping the repetitive and low-quality housing to find a large empty field covered with the occasional tree
As he stared into the distance his gaze fell upon a small wooden shack. Holes covered its sides battered by the storms of time. It stood alone in the desolate plains of grass, as if ready to collapse and fall forever at any moment, far away from any other building and even further away from the shining palace which was emanating its immense presence even seen in the depths of night. To this small shack the palace was simply too far out of reach. No matter how much it tried with its dilapidated state no matter what it did it could not reach such heights and radiance.
Its solitude reminded grey a lot of... himself.
He walked inside before sitting on the cold hard floor. Cold air drafted through the cracks in the walls invoking a cold shiver in Grey. He hugged his legs in a futile attempt to regain his already minute amount of heat. Sitting still for hours while reflecting with sorrow and melancholy at his pathetic state, his eyes gradually closed and subsequently his conciousness slowly faded into an all too familiar darkness. The darkness that enshrouded the spatial channel he spent 4 years of his time inside; except now this darkness brought with it a strange sense of comfort.
In the midst of his sleep, the dragon covered box inside his body began to circulate slowly. Rotation after rotation it seemed to be regaining the energy lost in the extreme distance transport. In time Grey started to emit a familiar, yet weak black and scarlet glow.
Far into the sky a lone figure blended into the backdrop of the clear night. Like a star, incomparably elegant and wondrous yet at the same time one would never focus hard enough on it to see its beauty. Looking closer one would notice her heroic yet playful air. She assumed a violet coloured robe matching her eyes that sparkled with an irresistible radiance; together with her captivating smile and features that would be a disgrace to deny their perfection, she was likely enough to dazzle any lucky enough to wander upon her.
Her smile widened even further as her gaze wondered with intense curiosity towards the dark glow filled with scarlet sparks emanating from Grey. Her soothing voice rang out to nobody but herself "Interesting, to think I would find an unknown variant of demonic energy here today, hehehe." finishing with a alluring giggle.
