Chapter 20 - Bittersweet Reunions

Kronos placed a finger over his lips as he looked at Silvia. They were more cautious the closer they got as Silvia's heart raced. Kronos pushed her behind him as he went to open the door. The aroma of pies and cookies hit their noses as he entered. The door was still a jar with deep scratches along the frame. He growled and Silvia struggled to look around him as a pan clattered to the floor. "Silvia?" a familiar voice yelled and Silvia pushed past him and into the open arms of the woman. "Mom!" Silvia gasped as tears trailed down her face. They stood there for a while until another growl from Kronos interrupted them. Out of a dark corner sauntered another woman with red flowing hair and eyes as cold as ice. "I'm not here for you wolf!" She seethed. "Mother play nice..." Silvia's mom sighed. The woman snapped, "Don't you dare call me that!" Silvia's mom rolled her eyes, "I'm sorry Sister Raven...It won't happen again!" The woman laughed, "I stopped being your sister when you traded magic for love!" "Raven!" Silvia's mother glared. "The girl has her magic! I can talk about it now! I've honored the agreement and stayed completely out of the child's life!" Raven snapped back. Silvia's eyes grew wide,"She's my...?Why are you both here?" "Ashley, poor thing...She was hysterical. I had to get Raven to erase her memory and help me here..." Her mother smiled gently nodding towards the woman in the corner. As she came closer Kronos growled once more. "Did you conspire? Why not tell her everything!" He barked and Silvia's mom jumped slightly. Raven looked young and radiant and Silvia couldn't understand how she could be her grandmother. Raven then huffed, "Her mother knew nothing about our deal!" Silvia gasped at the realization, "You...it was you! You had him kill Ryder!" Silvia's mom then looked shocked, "You what!?" Raven threw her arms in the air, "You wanted her safe! That's why I'm here now! A contract is a contract!" "I always knew you were a cold blooded bitch but this?" Silvia's mom yelled. "It's done! He couldn't even do it right! It took another five years for him to finally die! Then Bunny was in the way the whole time...He almost failed completely!" Raven chortled. "I asked her to check on him! I was eighty and we didn't expect to get pregnant! Silvia was sixteen when I sent Bunny and he had no idea! The deal was you keep her safe and she was!" Silvia's mom said shaking her head in disgust. "I was over one hundred when I had you! You should've been more careful! Besides, he did find out two years later!" Raven glared. Silvia stood in shock Wait...what? Eighty and one hundred?
