Chapter 16 - Thanks for Saving Me

She stared at the eggs in her lap for a few moments until her stomach rumbled. The first bite made her melt with satisfaction and she moaned with the taste. She wished there were more as she scraped the plate clean. Silvia looked around the woods...with no idea where she was she sighed. When she pulled the furs back she could see her ankle. It was swollen and bruised with a splint on either side. She gasped from pain when she tried to move it. "You're a fragile little thing..." Kronos said leaning against a tree. "I have to get back to Everest." She said quietly and he tutted, "That pup you were with? You shouldn't be going anywhere. You need rest." She scowled, "I have to check on Ashley too." He knelt down to her ankle and she winced as he gently touched it. "Who's that now?" He whispered and his breath tickled her skin. "My friend at the cabin... I have to make sure she's alright..." She breathed as he moved closer to her face. "No, you don't..." He hummed, "She left this morning." His silver eyes scanned over her face and rested on her lips as she wetted them. She gulped as his eyes darkened. "W...what are you doing?" She stuttered as her heart raced. "What do you want me to do?" He asked with a raise of his eyebrow. She grabbed the flannel shirt and pulled him into a kiss. He growled. He tasted spicy and her lips burned as it felt like electricity coursing through her veins. She wanted more and his finger tips brushed the side of her neck. She hardly knew him...what was she doing? Her eyes popped open and she pushed him away gasping. He laughed, "That's a nice thank you." His eyes were still dark as he pushed himself back up to standing. Already she missed his lips and wondered what was wrong with her mind. "Y...you've been stalking me?" She squeaked. She didn't miss him adjusting himself as he knelt back down. "Not really stalking... I feel protective of you little one." He huffed and then jerked his head to the side. "What is it?" She asked. His eyes squinted as he looked over his shoulder. "Company..." He growled. He threw the furs over her head and she heard a woman's voice, "Well, you've become harder to find." "What do you want!?" He practically barked. "Is that the way to talk to your sister?" The woman giggled. "Half-sister!" He snarled. "I've got a job for you..." The woman sighed, "It's a little human...think you can find her?" "Not interested...Val!" He growled through clenched teeth. "You're the best hunter in these woods!" She snapped. Silvia stole a glance and couldn't mistake the white hair. "I don't owe you!" He chided and the woman rolled her eyes, "I'll say I killed Eli! Then you can rejoin the pack..." He huffed, "It's that important to you?" She sauntered over handing him one of Silvia's shirts. "This is her scent... I want her dead or alive!" She smirked and walked away.
