"Ugh!" Verum grunted with pain, as he wrapped a improvised bandage around his forearm which had several wounds on it.
'Damn! That wolf's bite is no joke! Argh!' He exclaimed internally, trying to stop the bleeding.
He was sitting on the ground, and around him, were other people who were tending to their own injuries, which ranged from minor scratches to bone deep cuts.
Verum looked at them, then stood up, and walked towards the one person who looked different from all the others.
"Thank you for your help, rest assured, I will not forget it. If you ever need any help." He started, "but for now, please accept this." He said, holding out five gold coins in front of him.
The person in front was a female, aged approximately between 20-25 years of age, brown-haired, green eyes, heighted about 5'9, and was currently tending to her wounded people. She stood up, and spoke. "Thank you" Is what she said, taking the gold from him, before sitting down again, and getting back to her work.
"Do you need any help with that?" He asked, trying to start a conversation. "Can you use healing magic?" She asked back.
"Matter of fact, I can." She was not expecting a positive reply, so she was a bit surprised before replying, "Go ahead then, help as many of my men as you can." In reply, Verum just raised his arms before muttering, "Aura of healing" And an invisible wave erupted from him as a green glow enveloped all of the people around him, and all their injuries started to heal at a rate visible to naked eye.
The glow was there for five seconds, and in this time, most of their injuries were healed, only a few very serious injuries were left, that, and one poor man who had lost an arm remained.
"I can't do much for you, but perhaps in the future I will be able to make a prosthetic. But you'll have to wait, maybe you can learn magic to help in combat. if you want to, that is." Verum told him. And he looked up at him before requesting. "Can you teach me magic?" The man asked. "Right now, I don't know how to, but I do have people who can teach you, what do you say?" Verum replied.
The man just looked towards the woman, who agreed, so Verum spoke again. "Great, I'll bring some people soon, but it will take some time. I can't spare anyone right now." After speaking, Verum turned around to look at the giant corpse lying a dozen or so meters away from him. "Say, you won't mind if I take the corpse, would you?" He inquired, looking at the woman.
"Do you need it for something?" She asked, to which Verum replied, "Not exactly, but I feel like it's fangs, skin, teeth, and flesh would be quite valuable for both my men, and my research as well."
"Go ahead then."
"You have my thanks." And saying that, Verum summoned a flag out of nowhere, and all of a sudden, the corpse disappeared in front of everyone's eyes. After making the corpse vanish, Verum turned around. "I will be on my way now, if you need help, my castle is in this direction. Bye now." And with this abrupt goodbye, Verum plunged into the depths of the forest.

Some time earlier. (POV)
When my guard told me that there was someone in front of the castle, and that they needed help, I was unsure what to expect, but like two dozen wolves led by one huge wolf definitely was a surprising sight to see. But the fact that only one person was holding them off, was a bigger surprise.
At first, I did not want to have anything to do with it, but then I realized that once the man died, the wolves would attack us, and I did not like the idea of facing all of those wolves at once, even if we had a wall to support us in the battle, which is why I took the advantage to tell my men to aid the unknown stranger in combat, which they did.
But the battle was not easy fought, and I frequently had to tell them to switch out, and had it not been for the help that the stranger was giving to my men, I am sure that many of them would have died. But the stranger kept the biggest wolf busy, and also damaged some of the smaller ones occasionally, and this kept the battle in balance.
I was not able to contribute much, since I never learned how to fight, I could only help with some arrows from behind the safety of the wall, that too badly, since I only learned the bow for like, ten days.
The stranger on the other hand, seemed to be a master at fighting, and magic as well. I almost thought that he was a native, but he corrected that thought when we talked after the battle. And man did he end the battle in a spectacular way.
When only two or three wolves were left, he asked my men to hold off the big wolf for a bit, then used the time they bought him to condense some kind of green glow on his hands as he held them in an X position in front of his chest. Then, he told them to clear the path, and somehow, that green glow shot out of his hands and formed a wide blade, which then hit the wolf very hard, leaving a two meter slash wound on the side of it's body, killing it.
I feel like I owe him now, even if he said that he owed me, I feel like I need to repay him for all he's done, but my men disagree, so I'll let this be.
He said that his castle was in this direction right? Maybe I will pay him a visit sometime, maybe see what kind of units he has, how high his castle is, what kind of defenses he has. But for now, I need to focus on healing my men.
