Chapter 26 - Point of view

When I first arrived in this world, I was still stunned, still confused, but I was expectant, after all, the voice had told us that we would be given an opportunity to become kings! So I was very hopeful to get a good unit, and my prayers were answered on my first spin.

[Wind Guardian]

[Rank: Elder]

[HP: 200/200]

[MP: 50/50]

[STR: 25]

[DEX: 5]

[AGI: 9]

[CON: 20]

[DEF: 20]

[INT: 5]

[WIS: 20]

[Wall]

[Earthen Blessing]

[Rock throw]

[Earthkin]

[An Earth defender is either formed from a place that has been flooded with earth mana for a long time, or made by an extremely skilled magic craftsman, they are like golems, but better. They are best used in defending]

It felt to me like I had struck gold, the first unit I got was a juggernaut, and one that was able to use magic as well, and although I did not know what the rank meant, it sounded good to me. I was satisfied with this unit, and as an added bonus, it came free! I did not spend even one copper coin to get this awesome unit.

Feeling lucky, I rolled again, this time was range, and I nearly screamed with joy when I saw what I got.

[Narthrich]

[Rank: Spiritual]

[HP: 90/90]

[MP: 120/120]

[STR: 8]

[DEX: 17]

[AGI: 14]

[CON: 9]

[DEF: 6]

[INT: 12]

[WIS: 20]

[Double shot]

[Hunter]

[Headshot]

[The Narthrich live in desolate places that have little, but dangerous life. They have honed their archery over generations, and are now fearsome to deal with, either alone, or in groups]

I was now enthralled by my luck, this unit cost me 2 silver to purchase, and I did not hesitate, I was literally splitting my face in two with my grin. Quickly I spun the wheel again in hopes of another awesome unit, this time I chose the random category, however, it seemed my streak of good luck ran out.

The unit offered was called Swamp Orc, it had worse attributes than the guardians, and needed a lot of food to maintain, I definitely did not need them, so I left them be.

Next came my affinity wheel, and I was a bit nervous, this thing would determine how my personal strength would be like, whether I would hide like a coward, or fight like a man. To overcome my fear, I closed my eyes and pulled the lever. I waited for like a minute, before pulling it again to make it stop.

I did not open my eyes until I heard a notification, at this point, there was no going back.

[You have received: Battleborn elemental!]

[Battleborn elemental] [Lv:1]

[+20% EXP gains from kills and training, affinity with all basic types of magic at medium]

[A battleborn has a huge amount of potential, but only in the hands of someone who is a fighter, in the hands of a coward, it is worthless. A battleborn strengthens itself by combat, and at the highest level, can be compared to a medium level combat god]

"OHHHHHH! OHH MY GOD! I AM BLESSED!" I screamed, something I would later get embarrassed by, good thing there was no one nearby.

After jumping with joy for a bit, I calmed down, and went to summon my troops. I chose to summon 15 of both my units, and stepped back to let them manifest.

The guardians were made of stone, they were two meters tall, and had a shoulder width of an entire meter! their hands stretched to their knees, and their legs were 80 centimeters tall. Their face only had hollow eye slots and a mouth, no nose or ears.

The Narthrich, the first thing I noticed was their skin color, it was sky blue, after staring at it a bit, I moved on to other things, their average height was 170 cm, and they were carrying a quiver on their backs, along with a bow that was white in color, their eyes were white, pure white. Kind of creepy to be honest.

Once we were done with the basic introductions, we immediately set out to hunt some mobs. The spawn location of my castle was on a mountain, and strangely, there was no shortage of mobs, I continued to grind till I reached level 10, and when I broke through, something changed in me. It felt like I changed, my former cowardly nature subsided quite a bit, and in it's place, I found a growing urge to battle. A side effect of my ability, I guessed.

The world announcement gave a reward in the form of a weapon, a pair of axes, good ones too. I returned, and rested.

The next day I continued my hunt, but this time, with only 2 guardians and 10 archers following, the rest, I set to gather resources. I continued this, then I upgraded my castle, I left the dungeon alone, level 50 was out of my reach. I continued, came back, rested, continued.

Until I heard the announcement. I was level 27 at the time.

[Congratulations to player 'Verum Apeiros Voidborn' for being the first to clear a dungeon!]

[Congratulations to player 'Verum Apeiros Voidborn' for being the first to solo a dungeon clear!]

[Congratulations to player 'Verum Apeiros Voidborn' for being the first to obtain a 'Perfect clear!]

[Congratulations to player 'Verum Apeiros Voidborn' for being the first to 'Overcome' a dungeon!]

One player, without any assistance from his troops, had cleared the dungeon that I had left alone because I thought that it was over my level. At that moment, a fire ignited inside of me. A desire to fight this person, to have a full all-out battle with him.

And that opportunity came soon enough.

[...the 'Arena'!. Over there you can contest with each other to see how your personal, as well as your troop's strength, fares against other's!...]

I had spotted him already, all I needed now, was to successfully challenge him. And when I saw him walk towards the arena, I knew I did not need to goad or provoke him into doing so. With a smile, i ran behind him.
