Hakeem
"There are quarters occupied by a previous band member. It's isolated on the third floor. You can have it refurbished if you please," I said also with a calm smile and he looked at me weird when I was just trying to fight throwing up after Apologizing.
"Oh yes, It's located just beside my quarters." He said casually enough for me not to lose my mind at first. Then I thought about it carefully and realized something, if Anderson and I were going to be on the same floor. Then we were going to do terrible things to each other. I looked at my sister trying to get her attention so she could listen to me or something but she was too damn focused on the contract looking for a loop hole for me to survive in.
"Okay, let's say that he's actually here every week with you guys and on the weekends, he can finally come back home and see me. I think this is a very generous contract and the fact you are taking it five years for a test run, I really appreciate that. That would be all for now, I think I'm partly satisfied with this side of the contract," Isis said with a cherry tone. I had to give it to her, she understood human beings more than I did and she knew just how to speak in a way that was just pleasing enough for them to listen to. I on the other hand had the brain cell of a dead beat lab rat and the only thing I felt they did was just try to not be at the bottom of the food chain.
Isis looked at her phone and I saw a slight look of distress in her eyes before she concealed it and looked at Darla.
"Is it okay if I talk to my client privately??" She asked politely and Darla smiled nodding her head before ushering Anderson out of the room.
"No no, please sit down. We would just like to take a walk around first and just go through everything, I'm afraid he gets restless when he sits in one place for a while so to get him active, we would be taking a stroll if that's okay with you," Isis asked holding my hands and hoisting me up with intimidating strength. Something on her phone has caused an alarm and the last time something like this did, it was about Father. I haven't heard or seen one of his night crawler in months now and for that I thought he has decided to have better hobbies than hunting down his children who have zero fucking interest of being in his kingdom. For Drosis' sake, we were in the twenty-first century and he still thought we would be so traditional in our way of thinking, he and mother could shove their shitty parenting skill down the darkest hollow pit of their nonexistent heart.
The moment we got outside the house we took the lawn straight to the side road. The sun was already Blazing and it wasn't even past twelve yet but somehow the air still felt humid and that made me feel uncomfortable.
"Let me guess, it's about Father right??" I asked in a bored tone and she nodded.
"He knows." She said, squinting her eyes under the bright sun looking at me. I could see the slight shimmer of protection the daylight ring casted around her making her almost seem like she was full of glitter stones.
"Of course he knows where we are, we can't seem to put a hand on his spies yet they send unskilled night crawls to come fetch us—"
"No, I mean he knows. He knows about this, about you being in a band, the whole thing. He knows about all of it and I fucking worry as to how he knew. Have you been posted by any social media platform??" She asked and I shook my head while processing the information. How the hell does he know about that kind of information when it wasn't even announced yet. A small amount of doubt started to pop up in my head as i started to think back to all the possible people that could know about it and they weren't more than the band members, my sister and her wife probably and the sound engineers, none of the sound engineers or producers popped up my radar, I was incredibly sensitive that was something I would have easily noticed, but there was no sign whatsoever.
"Scan the area and see if anything with high life energy pops up," She commanded in her serious tone. When it came to fighting and being a badass, that was her Specialty, her exclusive combat skills and tactical thinking was the reason she was one of the best in the field because she took after Father. I on the other hand had skills with extraterrestrial powers, something not all vampires in the clan had and that was my boast point because anyone who was fighting me knew I controlled the Dark clouds of Azkaban. The lurking clouds that formed the death ring over Mula was my birth sign.
Mula is the highest and darkest hill that has been abandoned and cursed for thousands of years by witches who held vampires there after they caused trouble. It was the worst prison for any vampire who had committed Blasphemy or savagery, or made an alliance with any form of creature of the Dark without the Lord's consent.
It consisted of the craziest vampires from the Atkinsons, to the thorns, Families of three. They were already shape shifting into soul sucking monsters after years of no blood, just old hidden alcohols hidden in the cracks of bricks of the old wall from past cell mates that probably died in there
I let out the layer of shimmer around me, extending my sensitivity to my surroundings before expanding it past the house and at least twenty kilometers away but it was dull. There was no amount of life energy high enough to pop up on my radar. She looked at me before nodding and doing the same, extending it to at least twenty feet above us. We got satisfied with scanning around before we went back heading to their door.
"How exactly are we supposed to get whomever this person is, I suggest that this person already knows we are here and the story isn't even clear, how did you know that Father knows about me being in a band?" I asked her and she looked at me.
"Bastet is back in the clan from The Netherlands after her run away with with no form of supervision or night crawler, she was obviously there for private reasons but she still had the respect of not being followed," Isis said clearly pissed off at the way father handled Us like we're loose cannons when we were a product of his share hate and paranoia for werewolves and possibly wants to take over his throne.
"What about Nolan?? Still with kaliali??" I asked and she shrugged. They were all my age group of friends and she only hung out with us when she needed people she could oppress with her skills.
"Have no idea, we should head back. I can see nothing is in the area but we still have to be careful, they could be wearing various masks and that's even one of the reasons we can't let our guard down, keep it released, keep it clean, and make it short and accurate exactly. We don't want to cause a scene if there's actually one in the house okay," She commanded getting into her fight mode. It really was how she scared me sometimes more than my birth father, maybe because I turned out to be the crazier version of him.
"Ane Hakeem.." She called out to be me as she stopped walking ahead and looked back again.
"I'm so proud of you, and I'm very suee the only reason why that fucker us pressed is because he thought we would only make it out alive his way by drilling the life out of us. He is pissed because we could make something for ourselves without him," She more like reminded me and I nodded. The motherly side to her shone through and was so bright that I felt it again, that string in my heart pull downwards but in a good way, when ever the human child chooses to pull through, I would like to let he or she know that his uncle might have his back but his mother has his life in mind.
We got back in to find them already seated on the table waiting. Without hesitation, we signed off the contracts. One after the other, we signed them until we were down to one, which was my home settlement and I looked at Anderson who sent me a mocking smirk, in times like this, I'm never to be seen as a victim because why the fuck in the first place. So I sent him a sweet smile in the first place making his mocking smirk drop.
"Alright, I guess this makes if offi—" A life panel started beating up in my concentrated radar. The person was coming down the stairs and due to how concentrated it was, I could feel his life's presence beating within my reach even though it was dull and almost unacknowledged. He was definitely using an archaic mist spray, prolly cloud or coffee seed.
I didn't need to say more as Isis was already looking in the direction of the stairs.
"Officially…I look forward to working with you guys for the first five years," I stood up and so did Isis. Her skin was on alert and was getting spiked.
A man walked down the stairs lazily wearing a flip flop and pajamas with a flask in his hands. He looked damn tired like he hadn't had blood or slept in a while.
"Sorry, who is that??" Isis asked looking at the man with a smile, he was definitely a vampire with the way his eyes widened.
"Shit…I didn't know you had Roy…"
Sealed up his fucking throat…
