Yoshi squealed, pulling Baker to the third stand. The two have been going around, looking at different food stands. "Cotton candy? Yoshi you're seriously eating caramel popcorn, you can't be serious." He said, giving Yoshi a look. The same look that Hisoki gives Mago. "True, but.." He didn't have a reason. He was probably going to have a stomach ache later, but that was a part of the fun. "I'm cute. And you, as the dom in this relationship, have to care for me." Yoshi said simply.
However, he nonchalantly didn't walk up to the stand, instead listening to Baker's advice and not eating any more sweets. Baker was quiet, looking down at his feet, yet still following Yoshi. "Oh my god you're so cute." Yoshi said, smiling at him. Baker glanced up at Yoshi, only to look away and towards the rides.
Baker looked, well he looked like a fairy. His lips are thin and slightly chapped. His hair was long, longer than anyone else in their friend group, however, his hair was parted to the side, showing his face. He looked delicate, quiet, and easy to approach. He seemed like the type to admire flowers, well he was. His features were so gentle, yet still sharp. His button nose, jaw, lips, it would have confused Yoshi. His green eyes looked back at Yoshi, before he smiled.
God, Yoshi was in love..... Shouldn't he only be in love with only one though?
Yoshi smiled back. "Where do you want to go?" Yoshi asked, looking around. Baker did the same, looking at the different stands and rides in the distance. Yoshi recognizes a ferris wheel. "You wanna go on that? It seems fun." Yoshi suggests, but Baker shakes his head. "You're going to throw up on someone, how about we not do rides for a while." Baker says, before walking off to a random direction, Yoshi scrambles to catch up.
Oh he was so scared of heights.
"Fine, you wanna play games?" Baker thinks for a moment, before smiling happily and answering. "Yes, let me win you something!" He said excitedly. Yoshi was happy that he was able to get the boy's mind of his parents, that made him happy. Yoshi coos quietly. "Fine, you can win me something."
_____
Baker stood up to the first game, holding three balls in his hand. It was a bottle toss game. "Ugh, I heard this was hard." Yoshi said with a frown. Baker hasn't thrown a single one, yet he looked like he already had won. "Come, have some faith in me." He huffs. Yoshi smiles and starts cheering, clapping his hands and jumping. "You got this Baker!"
Yoshi knew two things about the boy in front of him;
He was sweet
And he used to be a baseball player
Baker took a step back, before aiming and throwing the baseball at the middle of the three glass bottles, the three falling one by one. He had two more balls in his hand, but all he did was place them on the counter, he did it in two tries after all. He smiled, as the bell rang. The girl working in the booth reached for the last big stuffed plushie.
A big white bunny.
Baker quietly bowed to the girl, before waddling up to Yoshi. He holds the stuffed animal out to him. Yoshi grabbed it, a proud smile on his face. "Tada! Told you I could win!" He said happily. Yoshi cheered once again, Baker's contagious smile infecting Yoshi.
Yoshi still knew two things only about the boy in front of him;
He was sweet
And he was a damn good baseball player
_____
Yoshi and Baker sat in front of the ferris wheel, eating funnel cake. Well, Baker had bought the funnel cake for Yoshi, but he still wanted some. Yoshi seemed fine with sharing. "Ok, after this, then ferris wheel, then-" Yoshi mumbled, his mouth full. Baker nudged him lightly, causing the boy to stop talking, turning to him. Yoshi looked just like the bunny, his cheeks filled with funnel cake. "Chew your mouth." He smiled, poking his own cheek.
Yoshi did as he was told, chewing his food. His brunette hair swung lightly in the autumn breeze. It felt almost like winter by now, even though it was still October. "Ok. Done." He said hastily. Baker chuckled quietly. Yoshi took a deep breath, before continuing to talk. "Ferris wheel, then we'll leave."
"They had been there for at least an hour, eating different foods and going on rides. It was a lot more fun the Baker had expected. He frowned at the schedule. "Wait, that's it? Then I go home?" He didn't want to go home, not yet. He wanted to spend more time with Yoshi, and wanted to stay at the fair. This place was like childhood happiness, why would anyone want to go back home. Plus, he had a troubling surprise waiting for him when he reached home.
Yoshi sighed, cutting a piece of funnel cake. He stabs the funnel cake with the fork, placing it into Baker's mouth. "I don't want to hear it. Besides, you'll be fine." He says, letting go of the fork. Baker grabs it, chewing the sweet funnel cake. "Yeah, whatever. We can do the ferris wheel last, but one more ride? Please!" He really didn't want to leave, he didn't want to have to face his parents.
He looked over at Yoshi, the brunette frowning back at him before looking away. "No, your puppy eyes won't work on me. Maybe Harley or Mago, but not me." He abruptly stands, holding the now empty plate in his hands. When did it get so empty? Baker sighed sadly, standing up as well. Yoshi turned to grab his hand. "What did I say, you'll be fine right?" He asked, giving the blond a smile.
Baker didn't smile back.
Yoshi sighed, pulling Baker closer for a hug. Baker hugs back lightly, placing his chin on Yoshi's shoulder. "You're probably freaking out right now, aren't you? Well, it'll take a while to get back. So you still have time." He mumbles softly. Baker doesn't say anything, only nods his head lightly. Yoshi let's go, giving him another angelic smile. Now, finally Baker smiles back.
They had to drive from Tokyo's inner city to Kawasaki, which would only have taken about forty five minutes if it wasn't for all the traffic once they got close to the fair. Baker and Yoshi had talked about useless things, including colleges and clothes. Yoshi squeezed his hand lightly, just showing he was there. Baker looked up, not noticing he was spacing out.
Baker looks around, the dim lights of the night sky being brightened by the fair. Sweet and savory smells coming from different food trucks. Light screams sourcing from different rides in the distance, the main attraction standing tall right in front of them. "Ok, let's go." Baker grinned, nodding his head to Yoshi. Yoshi cheered, excitedly pulling Baker to the ferris wheel.
Baker wanted to know, was he doing this for Yoshi or for himself?
_____
The two boys looked down at their feet, neither one daring to look at the house. Yoshi was holding onto Baker's hand tightly, Baker's eyes were shut. "Are you ready?" Baker didn't have an answer for the boy. What was he supposed to do? Cheerfully say yes? That would be a lie, a dark hearted one. As Baker didn't answer, Yoshi rubbed his thumb on the side of his palm.
It was silent, the night sky darkening at the serious atmosphere in the car. "Baker?" Yoshi asked, his voice as quiet as before. The blond could feel his eyes on him. After a moment Baker looked up, meeting his eyes. In one swift movement Yoshi locked his lips with his, giving a soft kiss. Baker wasn't shocked however, instead fluttering his eyes closed. The kiss there to give encouragement, a simple movement meaning so much.
Baker soon backed away, leaning back in his seat. Yoshi grabbed the hat off of his own head, placing it on Baker's. "For memory's sake, now go." Yoshi joked slightly. Baker smiled and nodded, stepping out of the car. That kiss, did something. He didn't know if the kiss was water or gasoline to the burning fire in him, but either way he loved that feeling. Needed more. Baker only felt the realization as he grabbed the door handle, the sudden worry hitting him as he opened the door.
And that's when something else hit him, but it wasn't a feeling. Instead, a person.
