Chapter 38 - Chapter 37

Harley had been somewhat impatient, instead of waiting for someone to call him back in, he walked out by himself. No one expected him to listen anyways, he was too stubborn for that. He walked out of the room, noticing Hisoki standing at the door, his eyes looking down at the floor. "Hisoki, what's-" He stopped when he noticed everyone gone. He looked around, expecting them to be in the kitchen, yet there was no one there. "Uh…. Hisoki?" He said, walking up to the other.

Hisoki finally looked up at him, something flashing behind his eyes before going back to normal. Harley frowned. "Your not Hisoki, are you?" He said reluctantly, crossing his arms. Hisoki laughed for a moment, shaking his head. "Yeah, I am. But I wasn't for a second." Same voice, the same stance, guess he was Hisoki. The professor awkwardly combed a hand through his hair. "Guess I forgot about you. Sorry.." Hisoki said, looking up at him. Harley waved him off.

"Can you drop me off at home, since my car is at school?" He asked. Hisoki looked at him weirdly, before slowly nodding. "Yeah, I can. Do you have everything?" He asked Harley, shaking his head. He walked back to the first room on his left, opening the cracked door to grab his bag. He zipped up the bag filled with books, swinging it over his shoulder. He stepped out of the room, noticing Hisoki typing something on his phone. When the elder notices him, however, he slides the phone back in his pocket.

"Let's go." He says simply, opening the door and stepping through. Harley follows, letting the teacher lock it before walking down the steps. "So, curious," He waited for Hisoki to catch up, before going to the other car. "What exactly did they want to ask you?" Hisoki was quick to answer. "They thought we were dating. Assumed that we kissed and stuff." He said simply. Harley stared at Hisoki, hearing the door unlock. He steps inside, shutting the door lightly. "Why the hell would they think such a foolish thing? I'm straight." He didn't know what he was, but he wasn't going to give up and say that they were right.

Hisoki gave an annoyed look, but didn't say anything. "I'm going to act like I am not offended." He muttered, backing out of the driveway. "You shouldn't be." Hisoki didn't say anything after that, and neither did Harley. What was there to say? He looked out his window, humming the old song he was humming before.

"What song are you singing?" Hisoki asked calmly, turning onto one of Tokyo's main roads. "I don't know, my parents used to sing it to me when I was little. But now, even when I ask them what it was, they don't remember." Harley voiced sadly. Why was he telling HIsoki this, it's not like it mattered to him. There was no point in even answering. "Huh, do you remember the artist or anything about the song?"

Harley thinks for a moment, before shaking his head. "Nope, don't know a thing. Just the melody." He says, sighing and looking back at Hisoki. "I'm sorry." Hisoki looked back at him for a moment, before looking at the road. "For?" He questions. Harley stays quiet. "For the way I've been acting. And…" He takes in a breath. "I stole your medicine."

Hisoki stays quietly, which was killing Harley. He didn't if the other was going to murder him, or switch, or both. So he stayed quiet, waiting for the other to answer. "So that's how you knew about VS." Hisoki said quietly. Harley nodded. Hisoki hums. "Where are they?"

Wait… where did he put them? They weren't on his desk, he would remember Why would he bring them to school, where- shit. "I- uh…. I threw them out." Harley mumbled. He could see Hisoki's grip on the steering wheel, the leather being choked by his tense hand. The other sucked in a deep breath, his eyes shutting for a moment. "Of course you did.." He mumbled.

"Can't you just get a new prescription?" Harley asked worriedly. Hisoki shakes his head "No, not for another one and a half." Hisoki explained. Arley didn't know much about mental disorder medication, nor did he know much about specifically DID it he knew one thing. Prolonged suspension of any medication can cause things to worsen.

"Are you going to be alright?" Harley asked. He was worried that Hisoki was going to get hurt, especially since it was his fault. Hisoki shrugged. "I should be fine." The car slowed to a stop as they reached his house. "See you tomorrow." Hisoki said, smiling towards Harley. How could he smile at someone who hurt him? How could he smile at all right now? Harley smiled back, opening his door and stepping out of the car. "See you tomorrow, Hisoki."

He shut the door, hearing the click of the car. He walked towards the front down, walking through the lawn and onto the steps As he grabbed onto the door, only then did he hear the car drive off. He sighed, tapping in his pin and opening the door. He stepped onto the wooden flooring, instantly taking off his shoes, and looking to the side.

His mother was sitting in her chair, eyes staring back at him. She had a disappointed look on her face. Shit. "Where were you?" She asked, not getting out of her seat. She never did when it comes to confrontation. Harley was always the one to go to her. But it never happened often. Each step created dread, not knowing what the punishment was. SHe had all of his friends parents on speed dial, well not anyone he actually decently like But his parent approved friends

"You haven't been going straight home or to Loni's house like usual. What's been happening?" She asked, carefully, her eyes following him as he sat down on the seat beside her. "I just went out with some friends." He explained, looking down towards his feet. He could still feel her stare on him. "And you thought not to call your father or I?"

"Look, mom. Just one of my friends was going through something, and some other friends helped. Seriously, that's it." He wasn't lying. He would call everyone in Hisoki's class a friend.Who cares if he wouldn't say it to their faces, the point is that they are friends, kinda. "Who are these little friends of yours? Do I know them?" He would like to jump off a cliff right about now. Right before he was about to answer, his mother gasped.

"What happened to your hand?!"

His hand? He looked down at the hand fanning his mom, seeing a big bruise on his knuckles. He didn't know if it was from the fight with Sahae, or the fight with Kiso, but it seemed fresh. "Oh uh… you know…" He looked up at her, hiding his hand and smiling. Hisoki would have seen it if it was from Sahae. "Are you in a gang?" She asked, leaning closer to him. "WHAT?! A GANG?!" He asked, his eyes widened. She was still faced. Ugh, he was in trouble.

"I just….. Punched the teacher who was trying to kill me."
