Chapter 44 - Chapter 43

Baker had never been in a beauty store. And though they were buying supplies for Halloween, it still felt weird to go into a store with so many female models in the pictures. Kai however, seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Baker felt like he was waddling around blind, looking at the same products over and over again. He crossed his arms, looking at different brands of the same shade of lipstick. How do females do this.... How does anyone do this?!

"Don't go for UV, you're going to look like a puddle of pale water." Kai jokes, looking over Baker's shoulder. Baker stayed quiet for a moment, before turning to Kai. "What am I looking at?" Baker asked. Kai placed both hands on Baker's shoulders, turning him around to look at the different shades of… something. "It's the base of any makeup, I guess. You really use it for covering imperfections, like scars and pimples." Kai explained.

He pointed to a certain area of the shoulder-height aisle, keeping one hand on Baker's shoulder. "Choose KATE, I feel like this shade will be perfect." Kai explained, picking up a small tube of foundation. Baker could feel the boy's breath on the side of his face, causing a light tint of red to fade onto his face. "Here. I'll pay." Kai said, handing the tube to Baker. He hesitantly grabbed it, nodding. "Ok, thank you." He mumbled. Kai rolls his eyes, nodding. "Of course. But don't tell anyone I know about this. It can be our little secret." Kai said, placing a finger to his mouth.

Kai wasn't like Yoshi. He was basically the opposite. He never showed how 'gay' he was. He was never out there. Not like Yoshi. Maybe he didn't want anyone to know. He never talked to Kai as much as Yoshi or Wafi. Never really became as close as any of the others. Baker didn't really like that. "Kai, are you straight?" Baker asked. Kai didn't say anything, scanning through the different pallets. "No, I'm not. What are you doing for halloween?" Kai asked, glancing at Baker before back at the isle.

"I don't know, maybe a ghost." Baker jokes. He really didn't have any ideas. He never participated in any halloween celebrations, he never wanted to. "What about Harley Quinn? Not our Harley, but the red and blue one. I can do your makeup, you would look amazing." Kai compliments, grabbing a pallet. "Harley Quinn? That would be fun. Plus, I already have blond hair. All I would have to do is temporarily dye it." Baker shrugs, picking up different strands of his hair.

Kai hums, smiling. "We're doing it. The sides of your hair are red and blue. You would look so hot." Kai says, picking up different pallets. "What are you going to be?" Baker asked, watching as Kai picked out different outfits. Kai hummed, turning around. He had red lipstick in his hand. He opened it, tilting Baker's head to the side. "Uh, what are you doing?" Baker asked hesitantly. "I wanna try this out on you. I'm going to buy it either way, and no one else touched it." He explained.

He slid the lipstick across Baker's already red lips, skillfully dragging the color onto the edge. "Ok, perfect." He mumbled to himself, before using his thumb to clean up the color. Baker looked anywhere but Kai's eyes, taking a deep breath through his nose. Kai stepped back, smiling. "You look good. It's.." Kai looked at the packaging, screwing back on the stop. "Cherry flavor. Ok, to answer your question before, I'm being Zhongli-"

"FROM GENSHIN IMPACT?! AS IN THE ZHONGLI? HE IS SO FUCKING HOT!" Baker said, tugging on Kai's shirt. He had completely forgotten about the moment before. Kai laughed quietly, nodding his head. "Yep, Zhongli." Kai answered, walking over to the register. He had different colored pallets. "Here." Baker mumbled, handing over the foundation. Kai nodded silently. Kai's phone lightly buzzed from his pocket. "Can you get that?" Kai asked. Baker nodded, grabbing the phone. He read the contact. "It's Harley." Baker read, looking up at Kai. "Answer it." And Baker did.

"Come here, now." Harley demanded. Baker rolled his eyes, sighing. Kai stepped up, placing the items on the table. Baker stepped out of the line, walking out of the store and to the side. He'll wait for Kai out here. "What- why. Kai's almost done buying stuff." Baker said, watching Kai from the glass window. Harley sighed. "It's Hisoki, he's not….. He switched and the alter won't tell us who he is. So hurry." Harley explained, before hanging up his phone.

Baker widened his eyes, watching as the phone hung up.Baker was about to rush inside, before Kai walked outside the store. "What's wrong ?" Kai asked worriedly as Baker handed the other the phone. "Hisoki, an altar, come on." Baker explained quickly. Kai gave him a grim look. "Where are they?" He asked. Baker shrugged lightly. "I don't know, probably at the same place." Baker rushed, starting to jog towards the food court.

By the time Baker and Kai had gotten there, the altar was sitting down, on his phone. He looked at Baker, and smiled. "Are all of Hisoki's students this hot? Man, he's lucky." He murmured. His hair was styled differently. A side part, with the smaller side pushed back. His entire aura was different, confident, extroverted, as if he owned the place. Mago and Yoshi stood beside each other, staring at the altar.

"Where is Wafi and Harley?" Kai asked, walking over to Yoshi and Mago, Baker doing the same. "Harley needed a break, and Wafi wanted to go with. I guess this alter got on their nerves. So, they left to go outside. I don't know when they'll be back." Mago whispered, sighing. Yoshi looked over at Baker. "You wanna try? He's stubborn, but you might get through." Yoshi murmured. Baker glanced back at the altar, before sighing. "I- ok, fine." He mumbled.

Baker stepped over to him, leaving the altar room. "You've probably heard this before, haven't you? But, what's your name?" Baker asked. The alter licked his lips, leaning in his seat. His legs were neatly crossed, with his head tilted to the side as he examined Baker. "Do you really wanna know?" The alter asked. Baker was hesitant, having a feeling that this alter might be Sahae. He didn't want a fight, or anything violent, he just wanted an answer. But curiosity must have beat him out as he nodded his head.

The alter hummed, licking his lips as he stopped up from his seat. He casually walked over to Baker, smirking. "Fine, I'll tell you, just because you're cute. But don't tell anyone else." He said, grabbing Baker's chin and turning his head to the side. The alter leaned closer, whispering in his ear. "Heko." Heko… Heko… he's heard of that name. Masa said it once, but he never told them anything about the altar. The alter let go of his chin, allowing Baker to turn around to look at him. "Your He-"Baker was cut off by the feeling of soft lips on his.

Delicate, with obvious intentions behind it. The kiss wasn't like Harley's. Heko was talented, and wasn't based on feeling. Baker was frozen, shocked by the sudden turn of events. His eyes widened, before fluttering shut. He could feel Heko's hand going to his cheek, licking Baker's lips. Heko seemed to be doing everything, lightly biting his lip before the moment seemed to be over. "Promise me you won't tell." Heko whispered quietly, his voice breathless. Baker could feel Heko's voice on his lips, sending shivers. How could the same vocal cords make such a sexy voice?! Baker nodded, as the altar finally pulled away entirely. He was pulled away by Kai, who tugged on the altar's shirt. He opened his eyes, watching as the alter licked his lips.

"You taste like cherries."

A slight tilt from the red lipstick was now on Heko's lips, making the alter's smirk seem more hopeful. "I'll remember that. But as fun as that would be, I told you not to say it. But at least I got to kiss someone so beautiful." he winked, Kai pulling on the collar of his shirt. "Why the hell did you just kiss him?!" He asked, suddenly mad. Mago seemed just as shocked as Baker. Heko smiled, blowing a kiss to Kai, his feet barely dangling off the ground. Kai huffed, dropping Heko, letting the altar fall.

Well, he would have. If it wasn't for Mago catching him. The tanned boy glared at Kai. "Let's not, ok? Remember, we're at the mall. Plus, he didn't hurt anyone, so there's no need to hurt him." Mago scolded, helping Heko up. Kai sighed. "We need to take him home, there is no reason why we should stay here. We'll pick up Wafi and Harley on the way."
