"Wake up."
"H-Huh? What?"
In a pitch black dimension, a figure rests with his hands on his chest, peaceful-looking. Before a voice resounded and awoke him.
The figure, a scruffy and untidy man, opened his eyes to the new environment he found himself in. He sat up with a puzzled expression, but then a sudden brush of something went up his neck and spooked him.
"Waaah!"
He jolted upward, stumbled a few steps before halting and looked around for anything that could've caused it. But, adding further to his puzzlement, there was no visible thing that could've caused it.
'Could it be the wind?'
Then, a screen entered his view.
[Greetings, Last God]
'Huh?'
The man didn't seem alarmed at the sudden appearance of the screen. He just looks at it with his eyes a little shaken. He reads, and after he's done, another message appears and overlaps the first.
[You have completed our game, Divine Ascension, to the very end with a 92.4% complete experience status. It is an incredible thing that we must congratulate you on. Most of the players who entered were either too foolish not to continue, or made a fuss about it]
[We brought your consciousness here tonight to give you a message of the impending Start of Divine Ascension. Your character, and also your, action has led the game to be continued onward as a reset. But, not to worry, as you are the one who has completed the game and has saw almost every content there is to find, we're merely here to notify you]
[If you could recall everything, then we suggest you use it to your advantage. We hope you have a great rerun, dear Last God. Happy gaming :)]
'W-What? What do you mean 'Start of Divine Ascension'?'
Something clicked inside my mind almost instantaneously. When he stumbled upon Divine Ascension, and booted up the game after it finished it's week-long installment, he was unknowingly activated the first phase of the game.
'Start of Divine Ascension. The game is gonna become real?'
He could recall the events that happened during the Start of Divine Ascension. Massive earthquakes and geological shifts of the earth, and then it continues every two days. Monster appearances and massive bloodshed.
'If I remember correctly, over half of humanity was killed. That's one giant number.'
Then, the screens started to act again after he had thought that it had stopped. But this time, it's one that made him shake to his core.
'A… Class Acquisition?!'
[Choose your Playstyle]
{Warrior}
[A Man of the weapons. An all-rounder who can commit to any role, but cannot bring out it's true potential. However, you are free with no restraints, Kindred Soul]
{Ranger}
[A pinpoint perfectionist. A predator of the battlefield from afar, but a lamb at close distance. It's true power can be exerted easily, but can also be stopped just as easily without any sort of measures against it. Become the best, Hunter of Predators]
{Caster}
[A monster of the Mystic. A deadly foe who can outsmart and out-damage anything through smart usage of different Spells. However, many restrictions are placed upon the Player and it's not something for kids or fools to operate. Become the master of the world, Engineer. I look forward of your progress]
{Assassin}
[A shadow hidden in shadows. A monster well versed in the art of killing, and also knows the price of it. Every life that has been lost, is a memory an assassin must carry for the rest of his dark-filled life. Those who embrace it, and move on, will become the better one. While those who revel in the killing, will lose themselves like a beast hungers for meat. Never become the shadow as dark as the abyss, Dark One]
{Necromancer}
[A kind specter that sees life by the sidelines. A nobody who belongs to nowhere. A stranger in even stranger lands. But, a kind saint underneath the dark cloak of pain. A being of maturity as they have tasted all the poisons the world offered. Never treat a being who's in pain with disdain, instead, welcome them with open arms, kind Shepherd]
'These… are the same as I remember.'
This took him back to nostalgia road, all the way to the times when he's suffering from depression and heartbreak, this game was like a light at the end of the tunnel for him. And maybe now, it'll be like that once again.
'So, with this information, I'll become what I once was in the game, but maybe a little faster now that it's a rerun. Welp, let's do this!'
I chose the last option and even though it already happened, it still felt like it was the first time. He's now ready for the upcoming apocalypse. The Start of Divine Ascension begins.
