It was quiet in the streets of Tokyo.
Well, the fact that the apocalypse has now dawned on humanity probably contributed to the deafening silence.
From one of the Gates, a silhouette of a man could be seen exiting it.
When he's out into the ruined homeland of his, he is immediately asked by a hoarse voice that resonates from within him.
"Where did we go?! This isn't the outside that I remember!"
"Calm down, Zach. It's fine. This world is going to be better than your world by miles, guarantee."
Zachary, his first ever companion, shared his shock for the second time with Seichi. He felt nostalgic because of it, and moved with hesitant steps.
The light of the future is slowly making itself known for Earth. And Seichi was at the forefront of it compared to the others.
'It's time, let's live the best life I possibly can!'
Seichi thought to himself, all full of confidence and life that he could never exude back when Earth was still around. Seichi upon exiting, immediately looked for the Blood Hunter, the most important piece of his plan for the upcoming First Event.
'If I raise him efficiently, then he'll become a valuable asset in my dream team. But, it seems like the sister got to him. Well, no matter. If our paths meet once more, then it'll be when he belongs to me.'
I surrounded myself with my undead bodyguards and began moving through the streets, in search of some place to rest and possibly make it my home base.
From here on out, the world's Remake Phase, or 'First Event' as Seichi initially called it, shall start.
...…
A week has passed after ordinary life has been reduced to ashes. Seichi was middling with his Mana, forming it and training its shape to become more flexible. He ignites flames in a matter of seconds, freeze air molecules to form icicles, unearth the ground and shape it, gather the wind and even emit a static shock. It was all after the one week skip.
'Hmm, the way of handling Mana is still the same. This is so awesome!'
Seichi exclaimed with happiness. He was waiting and training for this moment, and even though it pales in comparison to his character's magic capability, in the early game this is considered the best in the world right now.
He looks at the wall he's been practicing on, now with burnt and scorched marks, and conjures up crackling flames in his palm. The sparks flung outward in an erratic pattern and hit the wall with a small boom sound resounding.
[You have made an unprecedented record!]
'Oh, I completely forgot about this.'
[Your control over the Mana is unrivaled for now]
[A Title has been given to you, empowering your magic power as long as you stand at the top]
[You have received the Title, Monarch of Mystic]
'This is…'
Something new has entered his vision. A title he has yet to see and possess, and something that ignited his motivation.
'This is what that number one Mage player had. Monarch of Magic, huh?'
In the game, he only remembered that there was a notification of someone unlocking and earning a title after he had done something incredible with Mana. Even in the endgame, he never manages to earn the title he possessed.
'Maybe it's because of my proficiency with handling Mana. I wielded Death Force as my main source of attack and rarely used Mana, only did I need to cast self buffs did I use it.'
But now, instead of solely focusing on his Necromancy abilities, he'll do both. He sets out his growth plan, and prepares for the upcoming event.
"Your ability in performing Magic is very impressive. It's only been a week and yet you're able to manipulate the Mana within you and outside. Are you perhaps a prodigy?"
"Nope, nothing of the sort, don't even associate me with that kind of bullshit."
"..."
Seichi responded with a vigorous and heavily denying tone. This makes Zach fall silent, he decides not to pursue his question since it seems like this Necromancer is the stubborn type, and just observed in silence for his next course of action after a one week long Magic training.
...….
In outer space, a cold, empty, and desolate place, several metal pods came speeding through the black expanse of space. Inside, there's three people strapped inside their seats. One of them was dead from blood loss, passed out cold in his seat, while the other two were heavily injured.
One of them in particular, a female with long jet black hair and strange line tattoos, was breathing heavily.
'What is this… energy I'm feeling.'
Her unsteady breath slowly became sedated as she felt some sort of calming effect being induced into her body. She felt a little numb at the parts where her injuries are, and she has a drowsy feeling bubbling in her mind.
'What… is this?'
Ding.
[Your Mana is being transformed due to your unique Bloodline]
[Another Class has been added to your selection]
[Alert, Host's consciousness is unstable]
[Decision is delayed until Host regain their mind]
And she fell asleep, with the other person that's sitting alongside her also doing the same but that would be her last sleep.
...….
'The landing site should be around here somewhere.'
Somewhere in Maebashi, a figure wearing a dirty tattered robe could be seen overviewing the entire ruins that was once a city. He has been looking outward into the distance for several minutes now. The only thing that changed was the slowly descending sun. But as it was near time for sunset, several comets began to appear faintly in the sky, slowly becoming larger as it headed at a fast speed towards somewhere in the ruins.
'If I recall the events correctly, the first Priestess is supposed to descend here. I wasn't there since I was stuck inside a labyrinth Gate and spent most of my time grinding inside there. Although I grinded to a good level head start, I eventually fell behind to others due to lacking information.'
He looks at the set of comets and when they begin to show distance, he narrows down the one that's going to hit where he is. And he finally did, and began to anticipate where it's going to land.
.....
It was silent, no sounds were heard and it was peaceful.
It's been so long that I almost forgot how good it felt to stay in silence, to experience the solace solitude brings.
War was all that I knew, and surviving has been the only thing I focus on. I never had the time to focus on anything personal. But it seems like, today might be my last day alive.
'Death…'
But, the solace of solitude and the waiting for death was all for naught. Some kind of physical contact was made and my mind jogged awake for a moment. I began regaining my senses of my body, and soon opened my eyes to see an unknown life form.
"?!!"
I squirmed and flailed my arm outward to the unknown being, but he caught me and his grip force was considerably strong.
'What is this? What kind of…?'
Before I could finish that train of thought, the unknown being unbuckled my seatbelt and carried me in a princess carry.
"!!!"
My face became a flustered mess, and I could feel the heat from it along with the heat from the being that's carrying me. The face of the person was shown to me when I was being carried, and it was a familiar structure like mine.
'A… Cerkian?'
Did I crash land back onto my home planet? No, that couldn't be true. Me and my crew were nowhere near Cerkia Prime or any Cerkia-colonized planets.
'No… we were in sector 64-A3, the only habitable and civilized planet is… Earth.'
My thoughts began to swirl into a panicking mess. Earth, from the documents I've seen briefly, was a planet filled with uncivilized and ruthless primates. They even treat their kind with discrimination, so what will happen to those from outside their planet?
'Am I… gonna die a different way?'
My thoughts were then stopped by the unknown man putting me down somewhere soft. I snapped out of my daze and looked around, to see some sort of interior of a crumpled infrastructure. I look down to see the object I'm sitting on is a white, flat, but soft surface that caves in and comfortably wrapped around my sore buttocks.
"Wha… We'ratoshi?"
I asked for my location. But, it seems like the being in front of me which I infer to be Human, didn't understand the Common language.
'If I remember correctly, their most used language is English…?'
I began to recall the pattern at which their language was spoken. It was a Subject to Object sequence and in the middle there were many sorts of things but the most common is Verb. It's a different sequence to the Common language, which was something in front related to Object and then Subject.
"Ir'vartorika sem bel'orus."
"...Se'warikito?"
I asked dumbfoundedly. The human in front of me, even though no outside race has made contact with them in fear that their tyranny would spread to the stars, spoke the Common language without even stuttering.
'What… is this person? He couldn't possibly be human, could he?'
I doubt that the person in front of me could be human. I suspect him to be some sort of shapeshifter or even a very human-like alien coexisting amongst Humanity.
"We'sichuria foren su'loriasia."
"Arc'suchua por human li'charu."
I asked whether or not he was human, and he responded with a positive answer. He crouches down, and examines my figure from top to bottom with unknown intentions in his eyes. I moved a little, adjusting my body to better protect the place that I would rather not have eyes on, and continue.
"Se'archifu gowa sa'luchatufo. Ti'sear wafo ti'mebel."
"...Sa'ki… rutoku wa shu'kalire. Ore'sufachi re Earth go'larue."
"...Earth go'larue?"
The Earth is no more?
'What is this human saying?'
I was trying to think what could the human mean by saying, Earth is no longer a place it used to be. That its geography is different and now… that I'm on a totally different Earth.
"Sem'pleruta? Shu'chiru ver hy'lari?"
"Sim'plireka, ver'oruse Earth yar'velaru. Sar'kitasu que Earth gur'felar."
I asked for what he meant, and for what has happened for Earth to be changed indefinitely. He responded by saying, it just simply happened on Earth one day and that Earth is now a new planet.
'This…'
I don't even know what to think anymore. I look away from him, not knowing what else to ask. But, without asking, he took out some kind of book from a storage pouch strapped around his chest. The book was considerably new, but showed signs of usage from the tip of the corner missing.
I flipped through it, and it was a manual-like book with text written in it. I skimmed the contents briefly and noticed that it was similar to a dictionary book, or more like a beginner's book for the human's spoken language.
'It's called… Japanese.'
I look up at the person who gave me the book and he just makes a gesture for me to continue reading. I turn back down to the book and begin reading in earnest, as knowing the native language is going to be helpful since I won't be leaving the planet for a while.
...…
'Great, first phase secured, second phase is ready to commence.'
I look at the reading alien in front of me with an inward smile. I have gained a very important key figure and head of one of the most powerful churches in the game at the fifth to seventh phase. The founder of the Healing Light Church, and an arch-nemesis of mine once.
'The future is now in my hands. I get to personally raise her, and witness her transformation into the Healing Light's Priestess.'
Unimaginable joy filled my thoughts as I stared intensely at her figure, and that's when I recalled some facts about her backstory.
'A marooned soldier… Her race was the Cerkians, a dominant and powerful faction that dominated a large portion of the Zenos sector from 1 to 7, and is also next to Earth's location, sector Alikith 8.'
The exact details of her backstory wasn't told since I didn't have a good relationship with her being a necromancer and all, but I do hear it as a shortened story when she was about to succumb to my blade and later turned into my servant.
She had lost most of her memories when she turned Undead so she couldn't tell me the full details, only that she sometimes dreamed of her past. She would cry whenever she dreamt of her past, and would seek me for comfort as I was the only one who she had a close relationship with at the time.
'I inferred her story at the time as being very tragic at childhood and getting enlisted into her military at a young age. Battlefield screams and gunfire… war always creates shattered junk and broken pieces.'
I recollect my mind and decide to step out of the building for a moment. The place I brought her to is my temporary base at Maebashi. I've been traveling here on my one week Magic training, and waited for 5 more days before her arrival. Each day I went to the roof of the building to train and to look at the sky, sometimes I even stayed up there to watch the beautiful stars that I haven't seen in my life.
'Anyways, the beasts should show up for their daily scavenging route now.'
It's 6:23 PM, seven minutes before a horde of scavenging rats begin their search for unlucky people on the streets. It's also another reason why I stayed on the roof more often than I do on the lower floors.
I let out a sigh, and Zach's voice resounded within my head and the hoarseness of it was still slightly creepy.
"Who was that, woman. And what kind of comet was that? Is she a Goddess?"
"Does she look like one? No, she's not, yet. She'll grow, but for now let's just try to stay alive."
I went back in shortly after and approached her.
"Sa'richeva. Sur'almitewa fu shi'lewatu Al'rushe vy up'lifa."
"A-Al'rushe vy up'lifa?"
I told her about the upcoming scavenge, and advised her to follow me up to the roof. She followed me up without saying anything and we arrived at the very furnished roof.
A couple of chairs that aren't broken, a dirty and tattered sofa, an armrest chair with a table in front of it, and even a good TV for comfort's sake. The TV doesn't work of course, but it helps to fill in the place a little bit and make it feel like a modern home.
'I don't have enough power to take on a whole horde of level 12 Green Rats yet, even with her companion, I will only die a little slower.'
I stayed on the roof, sitting on the armrest chair while the newcomer didn't know where to sit.
"Kal'suret. Sil'thure wa fur'hensa."
"..."
She sat down on the sofa and continued reading the Japanese language guide that I made on my trip for her to read. Her comprehension should allow her to understand the contents within a day or two, but by then we'll have to use the Common language to speak with each other.
