Chapter 4 - First Gate (pt.2)

The third wave came to a close, but something else occurred afterward. Something that could only be described as 'pure fantasy'.

The world, Earth, was a place barren of any sort of magic induced elements and could only function based on the Basic Principles. Science was what they called it. But now, it was time to introduce those magic elements to Earth and their universe, making them 'whole'.

...….

Right now, in a ruined Shibuya, three people traverse the cracked streets with carefulness as to not trip and fall into one. The one at the forefront is Seichi, the necromancer and Last God. Behind him, the duo brother and sister, and they were being surrounded by six human corpses.

The brother and sister were looking at the silhouette of Seichi from afar with wary gazes. They also examine the undead he has in possession as well.

'We're greatly outnumbered, but he isn't hurting us just yet. I thought necromancers were supposed to be crazy people, but I guess the world's not there yet?'

Ashiro was aware of the fact that Seichi is a necromancer, but something is wrong. She doesn't remember there being such an event, but, this is real life. It wasn't inside a game.

In Seichi's mind though, he was recalling the events in Divine Ascension. He has a good memory, so he could somewhat clearly recall the events if they were important enough.

'I remember someone with that same hair and personality… The Holy Light is also something to take note of. Is she sister Aria by any chance?'

There's a church in Divine Ascension that worships the Goddess of Holy Light, Rebecca, who came from the stars above. She wields the most fatal weapon to Undead types, Holy Light, and was Seichi's constant enemy. She sends out many people from her church to hunt him, even herself sometimes, as his power was able to rival hers at the time. Sister Aria, the Head Priestess of the church, was a frequent Player who accompanied Rebecca on subjugating him and his armies a lot.

I wonder if she remembers my face… 'Well, whatever. For when Rebecca shows up, I'll have appropriate countermeasures by then.'

Struggles were numerous whilst he played Divine Ascension. Yet, even so, he only died once. And it was in the third phase of the game.

'Overestimated myself… and my army. But whatever, let's do this. Properly this time around.'

Seichi aimed even higher now that he has a complete and deeper understanding of his strengths and weaknesses. He intends to attain greater, or at least, reach his previous height much faster. He quickly traverses until suddenly, the atmosphere from above starts to become drowned in blue particles.

"Huh?"

"B-Brother! This is our chance!" Ashiro whispered.

"Don't attempt anything."

The undead at his command restraints the duo and forces them onto the ground, where they breathe in this particle and a notification reserved for that one individual only appears for their viewing.

[You have absorbed Pure Mana]

[+1 Max MP]

The process was rather slow, and each breathing cycle only garnered 5 of them. However, Seichi came prepared and sat down on the flat ground.

His breathing starts to become more rhythmic and timed. His breaths were deeper and gave his body a more refreshing feeling after every exhale. His lungs also expanded ever so slightly, and the Maximum MP increase was now bumped up to 7.

After about an hour, the rain of blue particles subsided and will forever be gone. The surviving populace has gained their blessing and means of protection. However, they are still weak, and they won't be able to do anything the further the world progresses if they remain that way.

Anyway, Seichi garnered 77 Maximum MP and has now become the one with the most MP currently. His lead above everyone else was like from the foot of a mountain to the peak of the mountain. It was an absurd advantage, and he wanted it.

As he was the only one who knew the capacity of that power.

'My plans can now be put in motion.'

And as soon as he thought that, a swirling blue pool appeared just a few dozens of miles away from them. This was also a reason why he was in Tokyo.

'The Gates have arrived.'

This was the entertainment, or rather for the other, a testing period of the first phase. Those blue swirling pools, they were interdimensional portals that link different places and times. Meaning, it links planets and different time periods, different Time Branches.

'The traversal is only one-way. So the ones on the other side won't be able to see it except for us. All they'll see is nothing even if they're placed right in front of it. I think it was the Time Branch Frequency? I remember that that was what the Guardian of Time said. She also followed up with a long ass explanation, but I just let it flow as interrupting would be disrespectful.'

Seichi stood up and looked at the portal that came into existence with a mysterious smile.

Ashiro was also surprised, and her shock could only build up more as more things align with what actually happens in Divine Ascension. She might even think that she holds the power to predict the future even.

'Wait…'

Seichi commanded the undead without saying a word and they took off with him. Ashiro stood up immediately and called out to Seichi.

"Hey! Who are you?!"

"..."

Seichi halted. His undead also stopped and turned their heads back to Ashiro. Their level of creepiness made Ashiro shiver a bit. Seichi then spoke.

"Don't worry about me for now. But, now with the knowledge of the future, what will you do?"

With that question, Seichi left and entered the Gate. He was and is still the first to enter the portals.

......….

'A presence was detected?'

In a dark spacious dungeon room, a specter was moving its eyes around. Its form lets it pass through walls and arrive shortly at the place he thought none could pass. A patched up cave entrance and then, a silhouette appeared out of thin air along with many others.

'What is this?'

A necromancer has entered his lair. His sacred holy place, and his prison. This was possibly… his salvation.

'Yes, a body for the taking. Although I don't know how he did that, I'll know once I make his body mine.'

A darkness faces off against another. You should know how it'll end.
