Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

The carriage rode slowly into the market and people gazed surprisingly at it. They all knew it was the first Lord's carriage and they wondered what it was doing in the market.

Alora who was sitting by the window gazed outside, admiring everything that came to sight. Immediately the carriage stopped, she looked up and saw Ruger stepping out of the carriage.

"Here let me help you down." He stretched his hands out and she took it before stepping out of the carriage.

"Oh Lord Ruger." A middle aged woman rushed out of the shop with two other ladies behind her. "You should have sent for me instead of coming over."

"Good morning Madam Sharon." Ruger smiled at the woman. "I brought my daughter to get some dresses."

"Welcome here My Lady. I'm madam Sharon, the royal dressmaker." The woman bowed and Alora nodded. "Please follow me my lady."

As they stepped into the shop, a gasp escaped Alora's lips. She didn't expect this much from a royal dressmaker. Yes she did expect the shop to be large and expensively furnished but this was more than she expected.

The shop was large and filled with lots of gowns. Different apprentices were walking around with different materials to show they were all working.

Each and everyone was busy with a dress or two but when they noticed Ruger's presence, they all stopped and bowed.

"Good morning my Lord." They all chroused and Ruger nodded.

"This way my Lord." Sharon led them into one of the rooms where royals were welcomed. "What would you like to take my lady?"

"I'm fine thank you." Alora smiled and Sharon nodded before gesturing to one of the apprentices that followed her to bring the dress book.

"You can choose the type of dress you want my lady. There are lots and lots of dresses in there." Sharon informed and Alora looked up at Ruger.

"You can choose as much as you want Alora. It'll be taken care of." Ruger smiled as he patted her head.

After Alora picked the dresses to be made for her and those already made, Ruger took her to a nearby tea shop to have some tea before they continued their daughter and father's day. Everyone was surprised that the first love himself was out of the palace, spending time like he was a commoner.

"Can I get some books?" Alora pointed to the library.

"There are lots of books in the library back in the palace but if you want to pick your personal collections, sure let's go." Ruger smiled as he led her into the library.

After a long day together, they returned to the palace. And to Alora's surprise, her room was filled with different gifts. For a second, she thought she entered the wrong room.

"Well those are your welcoming gifts Alora. I told you everyone gives you gifts. Some nearby kingdoms even sent you gifts." Zayen said from behind her, almost scaring the hell out of her.

"Phew, for a moment I thought a ghost appeared." Alora sighed as she walked into the room looking down at the heap of gifts.

"Well, open my own gift first." Zayen said, removing a small box from his pocket. "It isn't much but it's made from one of the rarest gems in the kingdom."

Alora collected the box and opened it. A gasp escaped her lips as she saw the beautiful hair clip in the box. "Wow, I love it. Thank you Zayen."

"My pleasure." Zayen bowed.

"Alora you sent for me….. Woah." Ava was shocked to see the whole room filled with gifts.

"I'm going to need your help. You know you're my best friend." Alora sighed and Ava chuckled.

"Good afternoon my Lord." Ava greeted Zayen who just smiled at her as she walked past him.

"We'll start from the smaller gifts. I can't believe I'm going to spend my whole day here." Alora groaned as they started opening the gifts.

In Ruger's study, the Lords sat there with all having a worried look on. Aero was busy pacing around with his hands behind him.

"Baden was attacked yesterday. The werewolves finished them. No single life of the warriors and the royals were spared. All male children were killed and the female children were left along with the women." Aero hissed.

"Now I'm beginning to fear that our peace won't last for long. Baden is one of the kingdoms with tight security. They've never lost any war ever since the last ten rulers." Ruger pinched the area between his eyebrows with a sigh.

"Still we will need more security. We don't know where or when the werewolves might attack. We can't risk not building up our forces just because one of the kingdoms with the most security was brought down to dust."
