My name is Jacob and this is how I became the man named John Whiteclaw, I was in my late 30's and I was having a good life. I was a manager of an American car factory, Everything was good till the day I died.
It was like every morning and I was in the middle of a meeting when the alarms went off. There was a fire in the staging area for building the engines. I ran out to see what I could do and I saw one of the old-timers stuck. A car frame was on his leg and she couldn't get free, I saw the fire creeping near her. I jump over the railing to the main floor and I ran over to her, the air was hot and the metal was searing my skin to it. I looked down and saw the fear in the woman's eyes and I told her,
"I will get you out of here Missy! " I lifted the frame enough and told her to run, right when she got up I heard a hissing noise. Missy ran as fast as she could, I put the frame down and I was about thirty feet from the exit. Then, (Boom) the whole building exploded and the Woman was far enough but I was caught inside.
The next thing I knew I was in this place covered in white, I saw stars up above me. Standing in the middle was a woman dressed in a bright white dress looking right at me. She was sad for me and I knew that I did indeed die. Was this the afterlife or was it purgatory? These are the questions that ran through my head.
She then spoke to me, "My name is Ra and I'm a Goddess from another world next to your reality. " She said to me and I smiled a bit, " I watched you help that woman and you died doing that act of kindness, I am going to reincarnate you in another world to do good for this world. They desperately need a good hero like you. " I stood back from her and my smile went away, " I am no hero to anyone, I just did the right thing. "
The Goddess bent down to me and you could see how tall she really was, She was at least ten feet tall or so. I was only five, eleven, and I looked smaller to her, " You will become a great hero in this world and you'll meet extraordinary people. Now go and become someone people can depend on. " Before I knew it, I was launched into a world filled with magic, I woke up as a baby a human baby like originally was. From what I could see, I was being set in front of a cave and left to die.
Was I just going to die from being eaten by a monster right before I get to live my second life?
