It's been a couple of months and I have been at the top of most of my classes, more in the magic and in combat classes. Others I just slept during class and I kept to myself most of the time. The Royal kid who gave me issues during the beginning was still causing issues for everyone. He acted like he was still a top royal brat, everyone thought knew it was Anith and she let everyone know it.
I was in the middle of my magic studies when the huge announcement of a tournament for students. Everyone who has the best training will be selected to participate, this will be a new game-like activity for this school and every school that has a magic course will be taking part in these games. I was going to be part of this since I was in the Royal courses, Before the opening day of the first games, we got the chance to go home and spend a few months with family.
Since I had no family close I went to the Wolf family instead, When we all left for home I walked through the portal with Anith since we lived near the same portal. When I came through I saw Terra and her family there waiting for me. They had a sign for me and everything, I greeted them and gave the father a box of cigars that I had grown in secret.
In my past life, I would smoke ones like these at least twice a week after payday before the weekends. He took them and thanked me, we then headed to the family home near the center of the city. Terra and I shared our time apart, She had grown a bit taller and more beautiful than when I first met her in the months before. Beastmen's biology was a bit different than other races, some beastmen can age faster than mellow out in growth once they reached maturity. She thought was the same age as I looked like she was in her twenties from a human point.
We talked for a long time when we walked and the rest of her family walked in front of us till we got to the home. We sat around the table that night for dinner and talked about finding out my adoptive mother's sister the Red Dragon came to find out why the school had a huge amount of magic power. They all laughed about how I was the reason for her showing up to the school. I found out later before bed that Terra was going to the Knights Combat academy. She was asked to join by the King because she saved a Knight from a Troll near the woods like I save the kids. She thought didn't know anything about the magic she could use only speed magic.
In the morning I got up early just as Terra's mother was making breakfast for the whole family. I went outside and started my daily workout. Every morning I would do my basic physical exercises and go running around the area till other people got up. It was pretty warm in the Kingdom Magieana, This Kingdom was located in the warmest area in the country. I was near the end of my routine when I saw a worker at one of the inns watching me.
She was the one I meet when I started my journey, she was happy to spot me and we swapped stories. After a minute or two I saw Terra going by and I ran off to follow her, She went through a gate to the academy. I still followed her until I saw a couple of guards, they saw me then saw my patch on my clothing. I was still wearing some of my handmade student uniforms, they then looked at me and thought I was just a regular peasant and went to stop me. when they reached me Anith's Older brother saw me and started to talk to me.
The guards asked the Prince who I was and he told them I was a student in the same school in the same classes. I thanked the prince and went after Terra to see how she trained in the school. When I found her again she was in the middle of class outside. They were sword training, I was in a tree watching them for a while. Terra was very good and was making everyone look like they were standing still. She then was pushed to the ground by the teacher and called a name I wasn't familiar with. The way Terra looked I knew she was pissed by the name he called her, I jumped from the tree to the ground and I let a bit of my magic power go wild for a minute.
All the students saw me coming up to them but they stopped when they saw the uniform patch on my jacket. I saw Terra was surprised that I was here and wondered why I was watching her. I looked right at the teacher, Prince Loriz came by once more and saw who I was looking for but saw the expression on my face. I was extremely pissed and Prince Loriz knew from the stories his sister would tell him. I was too much of a wild soul to not keep in check, when someone pissed me off they got everything they deserved coming to them.
"What did you call Terra, I may not know what you meant, but I can tell she doesn't that type of language said to her. From as far as I can tell she's league above everyone here for right now. " The Teacher looked at me like I was crazy and she went to hit me. Prince Loriz stopped her with one word and everyone froze. "Stop!" He came up to us and then he asked me what was going on, "This woman called my Terra a WolenDutch, I don't know what that means but I know it is not a very nice or respectful thing to Call Terra. " I froze a second when I said, " My Terra" and so did everyone else, Terra seem to be blushing under her fur.
I looked right at her then I looked back at Loriz and he looked right at the teacher in disappointment. " This Woman here Is our future of the Guard and must be shown with respect at all times. so please do so next time or you may not have a job here if you do this again. " The prince was very heated with the fact that a teacher was using a Racist term towards his citizens. I could back a person like this, I too don't like people or bad words to be used to call people. We looked at each other and Then the teacher apologized to Terra and then she left the area.
After that moment, I was able to watch the class practice for the rest of the time, Terra showed me around the Campus. We saw everything that she did and I stayed till the end of the day, we walked home together that night. "John, why did you follow me today? Did you want something from me or what? " She asked me and I stopped walking for a minute, " I wanted to watch you train, but I didn't want anyone to see me. I have a weird thing that happens where I get into trouble without meaning to. " I told her and she smiled a bit, she look forward, and then she grabbed my hand. She had me run with her to outside the city.
We ran for a good five minutes till we came to a waterfall overlooking a valley, the sun was just setting and It was so pretty that I had a tear running down my face. Terra laughed at me and then I told her, " I'm not really the person I keep telling everyone, I'm from another world, one nothing like this one. " I looked over at Terra and she wasn't moving or even smiling at me. " I was a man that managed people for a living and we had a fire in our shop, I sacrificed myself for my friend so she could live. " I had more tears in my eyes and Terra somehow knew I was from another world, From when I slipped telling her that I had a brother.
She grabbed my arms and then she hugged me tight, " I knew you were hiding something, I now know it was that fact you miss your old life. " I moved her off me and told her that I wasn't sad or missed my old world much, " The only thing I truly miss is my friends and my little brother. " I whipped the tear from my eye and then we looked at the landscape for a bit longer till we went home. I felt Terra wrap her arms around my hips and she was watching me more than the view.
A few months later I was back in school, I had gotten closer to Terra and I was thinking of her every day. I was in the middle of getting ready for my tournament for the Royal student. I was excited and nervous about how this was going I didn't see the three powerful figures in a private spectators box watching me. The person I was fighting was a stone elf, ( They have skin like stone and they are just another race of Elf like the others in this world. ) I was ready and I unleashed some of my magic power and then the gong sounded and we clashed.
I cast a dark shadow spell and I disappeared from sight and I hid in the shadow of the Elf. He was looking for me then I raised from the ground and I hit him with a lightning bolt and knocked him out. My match was over and I looked up to see who was actually in the booth watching. From all the spectators I spotted my mother watching me with aunty Emberz and one other. The man next to them wore black and smelled of death.
I smiled at them and mother smiled back at me, " That's my boy, he's just as strong as a dragon isn't he father." Calay said to the man who was not showing any emotions, "Yes daughter, I know now why you kept him alive. This world might need him for what might be coming his way. " He said to the women, I was putting on my uniform and I was washing my face from the sweat.
Princess Anith was next on the fight and she was a great mage on her own, but watching her was fun. She fought another Princess from another Kingdom, from what I saw the other Princess was from Beastonia, The Beastmen Kingdom of the north and they had a roster filled with strong opponents.
For the remainder of the day was just watching everyone else fight, a normal fight takes an hour or so, So me having some much downtime I decided to got visit my mother in the booth. I saw the Black dressed man in the corner he was watching me walk in, Mother calay had not noticed me yet, but Aunty did see me and waited for Calay to turn around. I sat next to her and she was watching the fights closely like the rest of the crowd.
Then when I heard the name Terra be called I jumped up and scared everyone in the room. (We were not in the school during the tournament, we were in another place entirely. " Calay saw I was shocked to see her on the stage. " Says here she's the top fighter in the whole school she's from, they offered her a chance to fight and she took it. " Said Emberz to me letting me calm down for a moment to say hello to my mother. I turned to Calay and greeted her, " Hello mother, That girl is from a family I stay with during my months in between terms. The Royal family made me stay with them and I think we got close, she never told me she was coming to this. " I was happy for her and Calay saw it on my face.
"Child, do you think you like more than a friend? A person wouldn't be this excited for just a friend." Said the old man grabbing a seat next to me, I knew he was an older Dragon by his smell and look. "Are you mother's father? " I asked him and he shook his head yes, I smiled and held out my hand, and introduced myself properly. Calay was proud that I did the proper thing and then Grandpa and I walked to the stage together.
We watched Terra closer next to the entrance on the arena, Grandpa told me about how he felt a change in the air when I came to be in this world. As we watched Terra he told me he knew everything about me. " Your mother told me where you were from and the goddess dragon of death and life gave you to us. You might be the hero this world might need, the humans of this world are planning something horrid. Will you fight them when it comes down to it?" I looked at my hands and they turned to fists, " If they think they can take my life away from me, they have another thing coming. " I looked Grandpa and then he put his hand on my shoulder, " Will you be able to fight them even if they are half your race? "
Grandpa asked me that and I didn't know what he meant by half, I was a full human, wasn't I?
