Kane's eyes widened in surprise at the notification in front of his eyes. He didn't know what leveling up would do for him so his sense of hope did not rise.
In front of Kane there was now a list of 'classes', slightly understanding what it meant, Kane looked through the list, one of the classes seeming useful in his situation.
'I want to be a warrior!'
'yes!!'
<5 stat points awarded>
Suddenly, Kane felt information flood into his head, all of it consisting of fighting techniques. His confidence grew as he figured out how to escape the situation he was in. With all of his speed, Kane grabbed the wrist of the man holding the knife, pulling it away from his neck before the enemy could react.
"huh-!"
Kane wheeled around and punched the man in the face. The punched person fell back, dropping his knife, causing Kane to grab it out of the air. Threatening the people around him with the knife, he saw he was outnumbered. Trembling in fear seemed to be his course of action.
He didn't want to stab anyone, so he started running, dropping the knife and pushing people out of the way, he made it to the street. The thugs were chasing him now, so Kane used every ounce of energy he had to run towards his rented house.
When he finally made it, Kane threw the door open, jumped inside the house, and pulled the door closed.
He never realized how hard it was to lock a door when being chased by malicious enemies, until now, that is. After a few seconds he finally managed to force the lock into place and run upstairs to his living room.
He launched himself onto the couch and stopped moving, listening closely for the thugs. He heard the sound of yelling, but it was far away. It seemed that they had missed a turn that Kane took. Sighing in relief, he looked at his 'menu'.

Kane assigned all of his stats instantly, two went to speed and three went to strength. He felt the change immediately, proving that this wasn't a hallucination. The feeling was addictive, like closing your eyes to sleep while thoroughly exhausted.
Kane wanted to do it again, but didn't know what activities gave him EXP. He knew that in games defeating enemies helped, but he didn't think he would try that, at least for now.
Happy, Kane left the building and walked towards the campus he would be staying at for college. The truth was, ever since magic had appeared on earth, the education system stopped caring about math and English.
They had even gone so far as to make practical lessons 15 minutes long and magic lessons mandatory with an hour and a half of lessons for each supernatural subject.
Kane now saw his school in the distance, 'MMU' was written in large letters on the front of the main building. MMU stood for Michigan Magic University, it was a catchy name, but also pretty annoying. Walking onto campus, he saw the main building, where all of his lessons would be taught.
The school wasn't starting orientation for another hour, so Kane decided to walk around and get himself accustomed to the campus. He saw a few people doing the same thing as him, and waved to them with a smile. They would usually wave back, but some either didn't see him or didn't care.
Kane walked up to the boys dorm building and decided to check his phone to figure out what room number he was. Seeing the number 69 made him chuckle as he thought 'funny number'. He would be on floor three near the end of the hall, which was fine by him.
It was almost time for orientation, Kane hadn't realized it until he saw the time on his phone. He started running, and felt light, much lighter than he had felt in the morning. Surprised by his speed, Kane kept going as he thought to himself.
'That level up thing is definitely real.'
