ABSTRACT
Biometric technology is an application of image processing techniques that are currently developing rapidly to replace the use of passwords. One of the biometric technologies, namely facial recognition techniques that are very helpful in various aspects, are not only substitutes for passwords but as technologies that help overcome the deadlock of the identification process in the public area. One method for realizing face detection technology is the Viola Jones algorithm (haar cascade classifier) and methods for facial recognition technology are Local Binary Patterns Histograms (LBPH) with Raspberry Pi (Raspi) media as computers.
This research uses both of the methods above to detect and recognize faces on the raspi media and make comparisons of haar types namely haarcascade_frontal_face_alt.xml and lbpcascade_frontalface.xml.
