"Ahh, you must be Lisa, welcome to my ship. The boys have told me all about you. I thank you for looking after them while they were away. I didn't expect them to be home so soon. Alas, it seems we might have rushed things."
Lisa didn't know what was going on. One minute she was on the station and the next minute she was in a high tech lab with a floating drone talking to her.
"Zero, thank you, sorry you had to get involved". Null was still upset they had to leave before the competition but understood that it was time for a change.
"Wait, where am I and what happened?" asked Lisa, she had already formulated some ideas but wanted confirmation.
"You are at our home, I can not go into all the technical details but in essence, we recalled ourselves and all our technology". Explained Infy, this had been his idea.
When they had designed the communication devices for the representatives they had also sent a copy of the blueprints back to Zero. This had allowed them to have instantaneous communication with Zero without relying on field manipulation. Zero had then suggested that when they developed the conference call device that they also installed a backdoor into the other devices. This allowed Zero to track the location of all the devices.
Once they had been asked to give up access to their ship Infy had decided it was time to act. He and Null decided to ask Zero to recall them. Teleporting objects once you know their spatial coordinates isn't a difficult task if you rely on field manipulation. Zero had already warned the people monitoring the scanner that he was running an experiment that required him to use the fields within the scanner's range. So in the end Zero had simply just teleported the boys back home.
Back at Mars, The General was currently reporting the situation to the Martian representative.
"The ship, the devices, the Colonel and the boy have all just disappeared. On the video, they were there and then they weren't. The only suspicious action was that the boy placed some form of a device on the Colonel's wrist before she they disappeared."
"Well things can't just disappear, maybe they hacked the video feeds or maybe they had inside help. Do you believe Colonel was involved in the escape?" asked the representative. He had been suspicious of the Colonel as she was the only person who could communicate with the child without assistance.
"I can't rule out that the Colonel was part of the escape. I also expect she might have some connection to them but all our investigation came up empty." General Alexander had a feeling he wasn't going to like the direction this conversation was going in.
"I think we have to treat her as our main suspect. We should bring her family into protective custody. That way if she was helping them willingly or not we can have a bargaining tool."
"The only family on mars is her son, He is currently on the surface undergoing the fast track officer training. I will send someone to gather him." replied the General.
It didn't take long for the military police to arrive at Christoper school. Christoper had already been ordered to report to the administration building. He was told that there had been an incident with his mother and that they had to take him into custody for this own protection. Christoper had no reason to doubt the sincerity of the officers so willingly surrendered himself to their custody.
Lisa was still shocked. 'who are these people, teleporting people shouldn't be possible. They aren't just a couple of years ahead of the rest of humanity.' "Okay, I get that I'm at your place but where is it and why am I here?"
"Honestly the less you know at the moment the more options you will have later. As for why, the boys need a tutor. It seems we don't have a deep enough understanding of humanity for them to integrate into society." replied Zero.
Lisa mind was overwhelmed from the events of the last 5 minutes. She had been teleport who knows how far from home and told that she was to be a tutor. She had already deduced that the drone in front of her was the boy's mentor. She had also deduced that he was not human or at least did not consider himself part of humanity.
It took a few minutes for her to settle down, but once she did the severity of the situation started to hit her. She knew that the military would believe she had betrayed them. Now she was worried about her son. Who knew what would happen to him.
"I have a son on Mars, It would be impossible for me to return as they would believe I'm a traitor. Therefore would be possible for you to teleport him to here?"
"Sorry Lisa, without knowing his exact location it would be impossible to teleport him. We had to place a tracking band on you just so we could get it to work. We also can't use the teleporter again for a while. Christopher is currently fine and we are tracking his general location" Infy felt bad for Lisa, it had been his idea to ask Zero to bring her along.
"How do you know about Chris? And how are you sure he is fine?" Lisa couldn't cope with the stress of the current situation and was still hoping she would wake up from this nightmare.
"When the boys created the communications devices we connected our systems to the military systems. Chris has been detained but is being treated like a guest instead of a prisoner. Infinite and Null have volunteered to rescue him. Please have confidences in their abilities they are better trained than you know."
