Back on the Twilightmantle, Lisa was still trying to make her decision on what to do with the young Lady. While she did agree with Chris and Infy that she hadn't asked for any of this, Lisa wasn't as naive as them. She understood there wasn't a viable path for Jania to return to human society. She was evidence of human experimentation and would have to be eliminated even if she couldn't remember the events.
After further discussion with Runemagi Vark, Lisa had come to her decision to allow Vark to install the implant. True to his word the Runemagi let Infy be fully involved in the development of the implant. Vark was surprised at how well Infy could follow the process. In the end, the implant had the bare minimum of sensors and bare-bones AI to manage them. Infy was sure if required he would be able to upgrade both in the future.
"arrrh, my head ?" Jania was extremely confused the last thing she remembers was being asked by Colonel Smith to come to the medical room.
"Jania, it's me Chris from the officer group, I will explain everything but we just need to run some tests".
"I don't feel so good." Jania then proceed to vomit into the bag provided. Infy had warned them of this possibility. He explained that Jania now had more sensors than regular humans and that it would be overwhelming until she had trained her brain to adapt to them. Lisa translating for Infy guided Jania through the process of controlling and calibrating her implant.
Infy could have done this himself, but he was still wary of connecting with Jania mind and didn't want to overwhelm her with information.
Afterwards, Chris explained everything as well as he could. She asked many questions trying to get a handle on the situation but honestly, she was shellshocked and just sat on her bed in Daze. She had no memories of the events.
"It's pretty awesome right. You have superpowers. You can see in a wide electromagnetic spectrum and in 360 degrees like Infy and I." Null couldn't hold on anymore and had contacted her directly over a mental link. "you and I are superpower friends now" Null had a smile on his face and had put out his hand for a handshake.
"Null, read the room, she just learnt about all this" Infy tried to intervene and also feared that Null have been overcompensating for his guilt.
"Yeah, she just learnt she will have superpowers. That is a good thing."
Jania gave a little chuckle and shook Null hand. "Nice to meet you, my superpowered friend".
The other just looked on knowing they had missed some kind of joke but happy to see a smile on her face.
A couple of days passed and the little group of humans were starting to get used to their new reality. When Varr, Vark and Bolat came into their room followed by The Watcher.
"Zero your back!" Null ran over next to Zero.
"Hi Null, Hi Infinity. We have much to discuss but I think we need to have a group discussion first" replied The Watcher using their private mental link.
"Hello Christopher and Jania, we haven't been introduced but I'm The Watcher." Both Chris and Jania were stunned, they had been told about Zero by the boys and Lisa, but the person in front of them wasn't exactly what they were expecting from an angel. They were expecting something grander. Instead, they had this energy being that was made of spinning wheels, they couldn't even work out where to look.
"We have much to discuss, but I believe it would be beneficial for everyone if I provide some context around those discussions" The Watcher was speaking out loud but also inside people heads. The dwarves knew most of what The Watcher was going to say but they were keen to hear the opinion of a high-level being.
The Watcher started his lecture.
"tier level decides everything, so it is important to understand how a races tier is assigned. When introducing ourselves to other members of the galaxy we always start with our race tier. This is because the golden rule of the galaxy is to show absolute respect to the higher tier races." The Watcher was reluctant to distribute this information but the council decision did not leave them with many options.
"There are only two attributes that will be considered when assigning a tier level. The first is races progression along their evolutionary path. The second is their ability to understand or manipulate reality by using the fields."
The Watcher explained that all the races are divided into five different evolutionary paths and at the top of each path was a Paragon and these Paragons had their own agendas and end goals.
"The first path is the path of energy. Angels belong to this path and our Paragon is God. We aim to become one with the energy field of the universe, to become a part of the fabric of the universe."
"The second path is the path of spirituality. This paths Paragon is known as the Pure Primordial. The followers of this path want to become one with the soul field and reach absolute enlightenment."
"The third path is the machine path. This is the path of the machine races and artificial intelligences. Their paragon is UNIT 0. This path seeks absolute knowledge, they wish to know everything about the universe."
"The fourth path is the organic path. They believe in the purity of organics. Their paragon is the Immortal One. They seek absolute immortality and to demonstrate that organic life is superior to all others."
"All of the other paths are grouped into the fifth path. The hybrid path. The current Paragon of this path is Chaos. Chaos goal is to become the ultimate lifeform in the universe but this doesn't mean that's the goal of other hybrid races."
The Watch continued explaining the second aspect that affects a race tier.
"There are three recognised stages to understanding the universe:
Stage 1 has primitive knowledge of the laws of nature.
Stage 2 has deep knowledge of the laws of the universe.
State 3 can change reality using their knowledge of fields
It is at stage 3 that the race will be welcomed into the galaxy community as a member. This is why we are constantly monitoring stage 2 world"
The Watcher then when on further to explain the 11 tiers.
11th tier is the unrated worlds, which have no intelligent life
Tier 9-10 Primitive worlds haven't discovered the scientific method. These worlds have a habit of dying out so the council allows races to interact and guide these worlds under strict protocol. Hence why humans know of Dwarfs, Angels and other races.
Tier 6-8 Worlds of Potential. They have taken the first step on their evolutionary path and discovered the scientific method. These worlds are monitored and will be assigned a guardian race once they ascend to the next level.
Tier 4-5 Galaxy Citizen. They can change the natural laws and have taken the second step on their evolutionary path.
Tier 2-3 Higher Races. They can make significant changes to natural laws and have nearly completed their evolutionary path.
Tier 1 Paragon. Natural laws don't apply to them and they have almost reached the end of their evolutionary path.
"It might not seem like a big deal but each tier is exponentially more power than the previous. Think tanks vs bowmen or portal blackholes vs energy shields. This is why it's important to respect those races who are above you."
