Wonderful day as it is for a young girl named Lyra, born in a nice city called Icca, living with her grandad and grandma they lived quite peacefully, she is very excited
for its her first day on a new school
Quite specially a school of magic
Her last school was not that bad but this school is where the most promising sorcerers and witches graduated and theres quite alot to learn she said..
She quickly prepared, ate then said farewell to her grandparents, good luck sweetie!! Be a good student!! Said her grandparents...
There it is. Akofyce Academy, a place for new knowledge as Lyra would say.
Excitedly! Lyra walked in the halls and lined up together with the 1st years.
As foot steps were heard, a person walked in front of us .
'Welcome first years!! to Akofyce Academy of Magic and sorcery!!' The lady said.
Please be escorted to the examination room to prepare for your entrance exams.
As I arrived in the examination room I quickly took a seat as I prepared myself.
"Ok! You got this. You studied this, you can do it!" I thought.
Excited and nervous I was as the advisor handed each of the students examination papers.
'Quiet please!' The advisor said.
The examination is starting as she explained
There are 2 parts of the examination-
1st is Knowledge-based.
Basically just answer your test papers as best as you can.
2nd is Performance-based.
We were tested on our ability to cast basic magic and our agility in the battle field. And so, we began.
I quickly answered the questions as we were only given 30 minutes to answer.
Alright! I'm done- aand i still have 5 minutes to spare. As I looked around, everyone seemed to also have finished their test.
5 Minutes have passed as the advisor proclaimed that the first half of the examination was over.
'Please put your papers here at the desk and prepare yourself for the 2nd part of the examination it will be held on the training grounds.' She said.
I arrived eventually and I simply could not put into words how starstruck I was. It was swarming with students, all with magic unique to themselves.
I eased myself out of my anxiety and pushed through.
"Please line up here!! as we are going to examine everyone one by one." Someone announced.
I lined up and waited my turn. It was just "Wow!" so much magic in one place, and they all looked so experienced with the arts.
They can control magic quite well too.
'C'mon I got this' I eased myself once more.
'Next student please!'
(!!!!)
Oh goodness it's my turn. 'Uh- Coming.'
I walked towards the field where it is held at and just couldn't help but to be amazed. It was also nerve racking as everyone was watching.. It felt like i was glared at by everyone.
'There are 3 training dummies that you can find here, one is for damaging types magic, one is for defensive type magic, and the last is for control type magic. Just pick one and good luck!' The instructor said.
I just went and picked the last one. I havent really done much practice- nor magic at all! I've really only made objects float..
'You may now start.' The instructor said.
I began to point my hand towards the dummy.. I really have no clue as to what I'm exactly trying to do but here we go!
As I began channeling, I closed my eyes and tried to make as much grunting noise as I could. It was extremely embarrassing.
-Her hands started glowing and a pentagram of some sort appeared-
As she continued channeling, she still could not help but hear gasps and started picturing
faces staring at her, disgusted. She was a mystery, not really born from a rich family nor a powerful one.
I opened my eyes to dummies from the target control dummy, to the damage and defense dummies 20 meters above ground.
I slowly stopped channeling magic in hopes of the dummies falling. Everyone seems to be in shock. Am I screwed?
'Uh- mm, next please!' The instructor stuttered.
The hours passed as the 2nd examination declared its end
'Please be escorted to the Gymnasium for the role distribution and the list of students who passed.' The Instructor said.
This school comprises of a system- well alot of systems actually, but mainly the roles. These roles are assigned to new students to declare which house they would reside in. Yeah houses similar to those fantasy books with babies who survive curses and bad guys with a seemingly non-existent nose. Anyways, It'll be explained later on.
A lady walked on the stage. Seemingly regal, probably important- oh maybe she's the principal.
'Welcome students!!
I say, I'm quite amused by the enormous amount of potential all of the new to-be students have. but without anymore excuses, I will be announcing the future students. Of Akofyce!!' The Lady said.
'My name is Salvia Meryll, the headmistress of this school. And I am pleased to announce, the new students of Akofyce!!'
As the applause grew louder, names were being called with honor and prestige.
'Drei Aster.'
Oh God she's starting. This is so nerve racking- I mean it always is for me. Well, wether I made it or not, I still did my best.
'Vivianna Derin.'
Oh! Its the girl who shot down thunderbolts at the dummies, Honestly it was clear from there that she'd pass.
'Loralei Gardenia.'
'Daisy Brynner.'
The names went on and on. Honestly this is making me dizzy waiting for my name when theres already 58 Students who passed. AND THE SCHOOL ONLY ACCEPTS 80 STUDENTS PER YEAR.
'Serene Neptune'
'Ajax Gride'
Please make this evening go faster..
19 more students got in, it's only up to the 80th name to be Lyra's.
'And Lastly, Lyra Avalon.'
I got in- I GOT IN?!
'Congratulations for the future students of Akofyce academy!' Ms. Salvia congratulated.
There were wonderful music played on the background. Everyone was celebrating really.
'Your dorms will be posted on the board near the halls,
better to get comfortable because there is a wonderful day of school waiting tomorrow. Again, congratulations!'
Wow- I mean I can't believe I got in. There were so many people- yet only half passed.
As lyra passed the halls she keeps hearing students gossiping.
Are they staring at me?
She quickly looked at the dorm numbers and went to her designated room. Room 208.
She opens the door, it was dark. Empty but clean and tidy. The walls had this pleasing color that doesn't actually blind you every time you see it.
Huh, I guess my roommate hasn't arrived yet.
I guess I'll just lay down my stuff and go to the cafeteria for dinner.
I walked in and immediately went to the line to get food. I sat down as far as I can from anyone to avoid getting anxious about people glaring again.
'Oh hello there! you seem alone.' It was the voice of a girl, delicate and pretty high pitch.
'Uh, Hello.' I answered.
'Hi! My name is Serene, what's yours?' The girl replied.
'I'm Lyra, pleasure to meet you Serene!'
'Oh what a lovely name! may I join you if you don't mind?'
'Uhm yea sure go ahead.'
She sat down infront of her.
'So! How's the academy so far?' Serene asked.
'It is magnificent really, its just hard communicating to people when I barely know magic.'
'Oh? Well then, don't you mind them. If you want, I can try and assist you with magic.' Serene replied.
'Thanks!'
Wow, I cant believe I actually managed to make a friend. This is not so bad after all- I mean hopefully.
After Dinner.
'I best be going to my dorm now!' Serene said.
'Oh, yeah me too.' I replied.
'Oh- whats your dorm number? We might be neighbors!' Serene joyously asked.
'Uhm, Room "208".'
A pause.
WERE ROOMMATES!!
'That's probably why the room was empty when I came in, you said you arrived late-r.' I added.
'Well! As much as this wonderful news brings us bliss, there's still classes tomorrow so we best be sleeping.' Serene advised.
And so we slept the night, awaiting a wonderful day the next morning.
