Chapter 9 - Trinity

A week later

"She's supposed to come with me, I'm training her."

"She's coming with me I'm the one she's managing."

Coming to work early in the morning was a choice Cerise decided to make. Last night, she found out that Jean is at least a 100 years old because of a street sign she recognized to be the same as the one in the photograph in her father's office. And where is Jean now? In the headquarters, arguing with Trinity on who gets to come with who. Cerise is left typing aggressively on her keyboard, trying to drown out the noise of the two men behind her.

"I get to decide where she goes, I'm managing her!"

"You're just an assistant. I'm her contracted partner,"

Speaking of typing, Cerise was given a project to work on from Dellancy college since she's new in town. Nothing out of the ordinary, just memorizing laws. What seemed peculiar to her was the fact that Aurums and Hollows are forbidden to use their abilities unless absolutely necessary. Which meant, they could get detained if seen using it.

"You've been getting on my nerves from the very first day I transferred to this branch"

"Who says you aren't doing the same to me?"

"Will you two stop?" Cerise finally interferes, her mind way too distracted to focus on the law project.

"I'm going with no one." Her brows are furrowed in annoyance, packing her things in haste as Trinity and Jean watch her leave the room.

"You made her leave," Jean sighs, rolling his eyes and facing away from Trinity.

Though, Trinity isn't done. He goes into his form, using his main ability to transform his entire body into rock, his hand is on Jean's shoulder. "What do you think you're doing?" Silence engulfs the office, thick air rising from each corner and surrounds the two of them. "This isn't my only power." Trinity grinds his teeth. "The moment you looked into my eyes, I saw your past. I know the monster you are Fleur." Trinity puts all his weight on his hand, the one on Jean's shoulder. The building begins to shake, core of gravity on Jean from the weight on Trinity's hand.

"Is that even your real name?" Trinity jumps back when he catches Jean move his hand from the corner of his eye, Jean simply turns to face him.

"You know nothing."

Trinity's eyes turn into slits. "I'm going to kill you."

As soon as Trinity says that, Jean raises his hands, and the corners of the room glows. His eyes glow, chanting one phrase and the sealing barrier is closed. They're now in a red zone, where they are free to fight.

Trinity lunges at the other Aurum, his arms forming an L-position and his elbows pointed as his main weapons. In a milisecond, the blow nearly hits Jean straight on the head, Jean swiftly steps away forming a smaller barrier around him to protect his body.

"You coward!" Trinity shouts, he stomps on the ground, and pieces of concrete separate from the floor and rise, awaiting the command to be shot.

Just before Trinity gets to make a move, there's a knock on the door. Jean immediately releases the seal and Trinity goes back to his human form.

"We'll continue this later."

TRINITY - UNITY OF THREE

What does one think during a time of studying? Of course, giving up, to Cerise that is. On her book are the laws of Paradise city, stating multiple, confusing and heart-breaking rules. Its effects rivals that of a drama.

On the unspoken ones, she read; "An Aurum is allowed to take the abilities of another being but not of another equal"

Cerise began crying at the thought, Aurums were allowed to kill hollows and swans!

"What happened?" Sal asks from somewhere in the room

"Faradiso happened." Cerise grunts, shoving the book away and wiping her tears.

"Law book… Ah… I see now," Sal hums quietly, "can't do anything about it can we?"

"This city sucks."

Sal agrees. This so called paradise, from what she's seen and experienced- and this is only the beginning, is nowhere near good.

Cerise decides to head back to the office, walking with a clear umbrella, droplets of rain decorating the plastic. The colorful leaves fall on the ground, dancing with the strong wind that came with the sky crying. Everything feels right at this moment, just serenity and nature. No people to intervene with her world, but then again, it has to end, she has responsibilities. She should apologize for leaving abruptly earlier. Cerise arrives at the building, swans and aurums remaining busy with their own work, only a few taking the time to greet the heiress.

She keeps forgetting that. Such an honorable title, given to her with ease. All she has to do is sit pretty and do what she needs to, which in fact, is difficult from this point. So many things to keep up with and the new environment helps in no manner.

"I'm back…" Cerise opens the door to the headquarters to find no one, though she feels weird. She closes her eyes and inhales.

There are traces of left over energy all over the place, a fight must've gone down. "I need to find them fast." Cerise runs down and asks fellow coworkers if they've seen the two, all she hears is that they saw them go down the basement.

After a minute and a half. she arrives at the bottom floor of the company building, there stands the two men, in war forms, striking each other down with their powers.

Trinity was a human rock, solid as steel and heavy as uranium. He had pieces of concrete floating around him, shooting bits of it at the other Aurum. Jean on the other hand, had his normal clothes on but a glow to his eyes and limbs, there's unearthly blood pouring out of his neck which he held with his hand. He had a transparent golden barrier surrounding him, acting as a shield that deflects all attacks. Jean seems to be defending more than fighting, Trinity had all his weapons out.

"Stop! What are you stupid idiots doing!" Cerise screams at the top of her lungs, eyes teary as she remembers the rules in the law book. "You two are hurt, what if someone caught you two? You'd be detained…" She whines, falling to her knees in front of Jean who immediately embraces her crying figure. Trinity lowers his guard.

Its silent for a while, Trinity has no injuries because to his body. He grimaces as he stares at Jean's injury. Though, he makes no move to help, he knows, knows that Jean took it easy on him. He saw it, his past. Everything. He saw gigantic black wings and how he killed with an invisible blade, with no mercy at all. He killed nearly 10 aurums. Trinity kept track of it, he needed to find out why Jean is freely lurking and living in this city.

"Fleur" Trinity calls out, heading to the elevator, his footsteps resonating in the empty area. Jean looks at him with an icy glare, "What?"

"You better watch out from now on, this isn't over."
