Chapter 11 - Isolation

Heartbreak. Cerise didn't realize that's what she's feeling as of this moment. Tears stream down her face. Her stomach in twists, head buzzing and ears ringing. Her heart hurts so much and she can't seem to find a way to stop it. She forgets everything else but the pain, falling into a desperate, depressive state.

In her arms is Jean, he had his head laid on her lap, their fingers intertwined and Cerise's tears falling onto his shirt. He had been explaining everything to her. And by everything he means himself and him stalking Cerise as well as what he has found out. Cerise doesn't know what her heart feels more broken for, herself or for Jean's story

"Are you okay?" Jean asks, stretching his bloodied wings. Cerise wipes her tears away and assists the aurum in standing up. Cerise is tired as hell, for the very first time she was aware of what was happening during a gap but all she caught up to was them teleporting. She didn't know she said such things, never would've called herself a Queen. "Definitely. I'll be fine."

Just then there's knock on the door before it opens, revealing Trinity.

Cerise's eyes turn into slits, her anger growling in her throat at what Trinity has started. "What are you doing here?"

"I need to tell you something."

"I already know what it is." Trinity opens his mouth to retort but closes it immediately, raising his hand to his forehead and massaging it. They're all stressed. First, the fight, second, the reason, third, there had to be so many people witnessing it. What will happen to them and the company?

"Look, I'm sorry," Trinity pleads "I was pressured, felt like I was the only one who knew and that I should do the right thing, but again," he pauses, "I'm in no place to harm Jean."

"For someone who tried to cut my head off, I have to accept your apology" Jean states, tightening his hold on Cerise's hand. His gaze travels to Cerise who had a shadow covering her face. "We can settle matters later, you guys should head home."

"Will you be okay?" Jean asks, a worried look visible on his features, he strokes the hand of the swan who then pulls away and walks to her room.

Cerise locks the door, pressing her back against it and taking it all in. She's tired, but she has to accept things in order to move forward. First thing she has to deal with is the fact that she isn't a swan anymore, never was, and why the hell Sal never mentioned anything to her. How could she forget? all of her memories, starting from childhood she only reminisces now that she had abilities! She's an Aurum with a disability… "Ah!" Cerise shoves the bookshelf, all the books falling to the floor with a loud thud.

Cerise decides, she needs some time for herself.

Earlier,

Trinity had his car traveling 90 miles per hour, slamming his horn so all the vehicles get out of the way. He only had one obvious destination in mind that he knew Cerise would teleport to. His thoughts run wild. Jean was an absolute monster and if Cerise knew she wouldn't be anywhere near him.

"Get out of the way," Trinity growls, horn beeping loudly at the traffic.

To start off, he saw Jean's entire past. He crash-landed on earth a hundred years ago, with wings as dark as asphalt. The moment he saw beings he immediately pulled out an ethereal sword and sliced through those poor people. Fast forward to the middle he had another crime, this time killing swans. Trinity couldn't fathom as to why he had to kill those ordinary beings, at first he could've sworn Jean was stacking abilities, from the nine aurums he killed the moment he landed on this earth, stacking is illegal. But then he murdered swans, Trinity doesn't know what went on in his head but he could've sworn, he made eye contact with the Jean from his ability and all he saw was galaxies, stars and a bright light. It only confirms that Jean isn't a being of this planet, in other terms, he'd be a fallen angel.

Cerise on the other hand was no different from a serial killer. Trinity saw through Jean's eyes. Jean had been stalking Cerise night by night, and he'd only been watching as Cerise tore through the throats of anyone she came in contact with be it a hollow, a swan or an aurum. Had she been caught, she'd be detained without knowing of the reason. Cerise is an aurum, but its only triggered because of her Dissociative Identity Disorder. The images terrify him, if he knew what Cerise was capable of he wouldn't have been bossing her around as a way of showing his attraction for her.

"Are you leaving with me or not?" Trinity asks, still at the doorway of Cerise's apartment.

Jean sits down on the couch and looks outside. The sun is still out. He folds his wings, runs his digits on the ends of it and it disappears into nothing, leaving a scar-like hole on his back. "I'm staying."

"Suit yourself."

Jean makes his way to the front of Cerise's bedroom, teleporting inside when he hears no answer to his knocks. Cerise was curled up in bed, fast asleep. Jean walks closer and observes. Her face had dried tears and along with the pillow, she didn't save it from the waterworks. "Cerise." Jean nudges her only to fail in waking her up.

He grabs the blanket, lays down, and drapes the blanket over her. He hesitates but makes the move to hug Cerise from behind. Jean has thought about a lot of stuff, including the liking he's taken to Cerise but he tries not to mention it, especially when there's a lot of stuff going on such as work. He only hopes his feelings will be recognized someday, he does make it obvious through his actions. "I hope you're okay." Jean, sits up, his head aligning with Cerise's, and he plants a kiss on her forehead.
