The sound of birds chirping made Maura open her eyes. She took a deep breath after glancing to the side. Maura was startled awake when she smelled another scent. Her brows furrowed in confusion.
Her first glance was of a half-lit room with dull colors on the walls. This is the room. Then whose scent did she faintly smell on the pillow?
Maura was silent for a few minutes. She pressed her eyes shut. Her consciousness was still half-assed. Her life hadn't even been collected after falling asleep from exhaustion, nightmares, or whatever made her head feel like it was being hit hard.
