He might be the alpha of his pack. He might be the strongest and fastest werewolf in this world. Yet here he is losing constantly in a little game with Lune, a human for real without letting her win purposely.
"You're no fun, you lose again," she sighs when she wins for the 30th time, and shakes her head, "I guess I will play with Lisa instead."
He shrugs and tries to lighten up the mood by joking, "maybe it's because you can read my mind like the palm of your hand, soulmate."
The girls continue their interrupted match, and Chilve takes this chance to walk towards the request board to check for anything new. When he sees that there's none that will match Lune's current level, he sighs and goes back to their table and asks, "wanna explore a dungeon? A simple one for now."
Without stopping their little game, she asks, "what should I expect from running inside a dungeon?"
"Constant change of the map and terrain, unexpected beast attacks, and most importantly rewards that are better than the wild. What do you say?"
She nods excitedly and asks Lisa, "do you want to join?"
"Oh, really? I hope I'm not a burden to the both of you. Or should we join a dungeon expedition?"
"Do we have such things?" Waiting for her reply, Lune stops playing the game and Lisa nods, "yes! It's suitable for newbies or adventurers that can't work alone in a dungeon. Shall we? I believe we can find such at a dungeon's entrance anyway. Come on!"
With a new found objective, they start packing their stuff and move out, and with Chilve help in looking for the entrance, they found a dungeon which is packed with people at the entrance, looking for fellow adventurers to join them. A certain blond head caught Lune's attention and she mumbles out, "Sol?"
Before Chilve can stop her, she already starts walking towards the familiar silhouette and her twin stares back at her when he hears footsteps, "Lune? Finally coming for a dungeon run?"
"Finally?" She recalled that he was indeed in a dungeon according to Chilve's map, and she smirks, "I bet you asked for help from veterans."
"It's not something to be ashamed of for asking help when you really need it," both Lisa and Chilve approach the twins and Lisa asks, "who is this? A friend? Hello! The name's Lisa," she holds out her hand shyly and Sol takes it, "Sol, Lune's twin."
"Oh! No wonder you both look alike."
Someone approaches them in the meantime and when she wraps her arms around Sol's chest from the back, he blushes from the body contact while the girl asks, "are these your friends? Hey~ My name's Vivian and I'm going to be the bride of Sol one day," and while Chilve is chuckling at the side thinking how funny it is to finally have something to tease Sol about, Lune gasps, "wait what? You never told me about this?"
Vivian's head pops out from his back and she glares at Lune, "you're not my love rival, are you?" And when she is checking her out from head to toe, Chilve finally laughs out loud while Sol complains, "what is this guy still doing here? Are you sure he can even fight a bug himself?"
"I'm hurt from your suspicions, but I will fight well to ensure Lune survives, especially since I'm her-" 'Please don't say it out loud!' "-destined soulmate."
She facepalms from the declaration and while Lisa is having hearts in her eyes from the love in the air, Sol grabs the hilt of his sword and threatens, "you what??!"
"Then we can be friends if you're not my rival in love."
Sol turns to look at Vivian who is blushing at the close proximity and he shouts, "we are not even like that! Stop saying things that will make others misunderstand." And he turns back and finally unsheathes his sword from the scabbard, "I challenge you to a duel. If you win, I will leave you alone. If I win, you leave my sister alone."
"Tempting, but instead of dueling one to one, what about challenging on who can clear the final boss of the dungeon first?" His smirk grows wider when Sol is frowning, "don't have the confidence?"
"Bring it on!"
Lune just hopes that no one gets hurt badly, and facepalms when Chilve reassures her not to worry by patting on her back. The five of them enter the dungeon after double checking their supplies and equipment condition, and Lisa takes out her bow carefully when Chilve puts a finger on his lips, an indicator that something's nearby. Lune's hand is on the hilt of her daggers, while Vivian seems to be holding a book, where upon closer inspection it's a grimoire that enables mages to cast better. Sol extends his hand out and makes a fire burning on top of his palm, lighting the dungeon that is getting darker the deeper they venture in.
And Lune smiles when she sees how in sync Sol and Vivian can be, where Sol burns the monsters while Vivian blows them away with her wind magic, and before she can handle the next batch of bats, Lisa shoots them down while Chilve crushes them when they fall to the ground.
When they finally reach a huge flat area, Chilve warns, "it's where the boss of the dungeon will appear. Be on your guard."
Sol stretches his neck and chuckles, "don't forget about our bet, Evan."
"Who is Evan?" Lisa's question has been drowned by the boss's loud growl, and Lune readies herself, "don't you guys get hurt while trying to win the bet."
"Awww Lune, are you worried about my well being? I'm touched."
She rolls her eyes at that sentence while Sol rushes after the boss after shouting, "I will win this bet!"
