"It seems like it's just a hatchling."
"A hatchling doesn't grow to that size," Lune sighs from almost killing basically a beast child, and she continues, "unless they are special grade."
"I think it is. If not it won't be submitting this easily, considering the adults have their pride not to submit to humans this easily," the dragon seems to be showing its belly, trembling and tears coming out from its eyes, and Lisa seems to grow soft hearted, "awwww, look how cute it is."
"Yeah, cutie here almost killed us earlier."
"Actually, if it really is going for the kill, it will be diving straight at Lisa earlier, since they have better hearing than wolves," he carefully puts a palm on its belly and it tries to stay still without retorting, "yet it didn't. It might also be abandoned by its parents or maybe, they died from human attacks."
Before she can even process anything that is happening in her mind, Lune blurts out, "we should adopt it."
Chilve seems to be chuckling from her rash decision while Lisa almost shouted from the shock, "no one adopts a dragon!" And the blonde finally thinks maybe its better to take care of it until it can fend for itself if it's a hatchling, "don't you guys have dragon tamers or something like that?"
"The last known dragon tamer had died centuries ago, which makes the art of dragon taming long lost since."
The trio are silent until the dragon seems to be taken a liking to Lune, where it starts hugging her leg while they are not watching and she looks down at it, with its eyes opening as big as possible, looking at the blonde with some sort of wonder like it understands she is trying to help, "as long as it can make itself this size again after growing up, I think it should be fine. Dragons are intelligent and rare, don't they? They will make a good traveling companion."
"They can also consume a lot of food with their bottomless pit of a stomach, just saying."
"At least agree with me here, don't you think its too inhumane to kill it just because it is a different species from us?"
Lisa thought the duo are going to fight with how intense they are staring at each other, and before she can try to break them up, Chilve suddenly smiles warmly and nods, "then it's settled since you are firm with your decision. I will help you with this."
"Wait, you know how to take care of a dragon?"
"No, I just know enough. Whether or not we can tame it is another story," he stares at the little one where it starts trembling under his stare and he grins, "by the way, it's a she. They can fend off other males since it's larger in size. Have you thought of what name to call it yet for the meantime?"
With how white it is considering it's elemental prowess, Lune is reminded of Chilve himself, but she can't really name it based on him, right? She then smiles when a word comes to her mind and she mutters silently, "snow…"
It seems to take a liken to the word snow, and starts hugging her leg more tightly now, with its eyes staring at her with wonder, and she almost coos at how cute it looks right now, "from now on, your name is Snow. My name is Lune, this guy here is Chilve, and this girl here is Lisa. Let's be friends from now on, okay?"
Snow purrs in content and starts rubbing its face on her leg, and Chilve kinda ruins the mood with a sigh, "still, we need to get Snow for a medical treatment, since her neck injury is a little deep despite how she already freezes it from bleeding."
"Talking about medical treatment, I think I know just the one to go to! He should be in the next town to Tera, so it's nearby."
"Where is it?" Chilve takes out his map and passes it to the redhead, where she looks through it and points to a town with the name Prean on it, "it's here."
"Do we have enough time to get the medical treatment then? How long is the traveling period?"
"Around half a day if we are lucky. Let's go quickly," the trio departs after Lune carries Snow in her arms, where it doesn't exactly protest and finally relaxes when she realizes they are not doing anything else besides moving. During this time, Lisa starts talking about the acquaintance she knew about, "Dr Barry is a specialist in magical beasts, and normally he is the one to go to when they are hurt and require medical treatment. I met him when I got poisoned by a frog's saliva where he was collecting for research and helped me to clear the poison out from my body."
"He won't be someone that kills beasts for research, would he?"
"Of course not, especially if it's rare. Dragons are really rare."
A thought came to the blonde's mind where Dr Barry might get interested in Chilve if he gets to know that he is a werewolf, and the scenario where Chilve has to run away from a doctor makes her smile from the comical scene, while Chilve is wondering what happy thoughts she is having to have her smile that bright. Snow seems to have sensed her mood and is getting much more cheerful than earlier, and even starts paying attention to her surroundings like a curious child she is.
With how gentle Lune seems to be carrying Snow, Chilve starts getting embarrassed at the possible future where she is handling their own pups.
