Chapter 23 - Sol can be a typical brother

After reading the documents and signing her name, Jane takes it from her and inspects it before giving her a thumbs up, "this should do it. I will be sending this to the town hall and get it processed by today," and she frowns when Chilve shakes his head, "make it by the next hour."

"It's not my area of control after this, since it's town hall's responsibility to process it. You should know that better than me, don't you, mister banker?"

"I did say I'm a banker, but I don't deal with town hall myself."

"Your luck then. So," she turns to look at Lune and she stiffens from the stare, "relax! I'm not going to eat you! So, are you going to travel with Chilve here after this?" Lune nods at the question and Jane grins, "you know, he used to be very cute! Too bad he gets more demanding after growing u-" Chilve clears his throat while trying hard not to blush from being called cute right in front of Lune, "alright alright, I will stop teasing you. So, Lune, what kind of adventures are you trying to go through?"

Luckily this question makes Lune start talking excitedly about travelling around the places, and possibly other kingdoms if possible, where Chilve adds in that he knows of a few kingdoms that welcomes adventurers warmly, and Jane is secretly thinking about how good they look together.

When someone enters the guild building at this moment, he seems to have spotted the two at the counter and approaches with a purpose, and he greets Lune, "sis, so you're already here."

"Oh hey Sol! Are you getting your license now?" Chilve is silently hoping that the prince will be asking his help to expedite the registration since it takes a long time to even apply in the first place, and Sol shakes his head, "I already got my papers a few days ago, so I'm just here to see if there's any requests."

Chilve almost bursts into laughter when he sees how mad Lune looks right now, where her cheeks inflate like two huge balls and she huffs, "you did that and not doing that for me at the same time?"

"Lune, I thought this friend of yours had taken care of it for you earlier, so why do you even need me, your brother?" Jane seems to be enjoying this scene too much since she is giggling at the side, while Chilve is keeping a fake smile on to avoid confrontation, though he looks close to punching Sol in the face with his hands curling up into balls of fists, "and I'm pretty sure getting it done yourself is a good experience, so I will let you have it."

"Don't let me see you on the road."

"I won't, don't worry about that, considering I'm not to keen on getting acquaintant with this Evan guy," luckily Jane doesn't make any notion of correcting Sol on Chilve's name, so he is thinking to himself that he should treat her to something later as thanks for keeping herself mum, "well then, I will be coming over later, since I don't see much requests here for now."

Once he exits the building, Lune huffs and puffs before turning to face Chilve and starts complaining, "I swear if he isn't my twin, I'm going to punch him in the face right here right now and let him explain to passersby on how he got a huge swell on his face. I even ordered and gift him my greatest invention, a sleeping bag!"

Chilve looks a little confused and he asks, "sleeping bag? Do you use the bag to store things when you are asleep?" This makes Lune's eyes widen in surprise and puts her hands on her hips, "sleeping bag as in a bag that lets you sleep inside it, which can combat the cold nights from the wilderness and such."

Knowing he doesn't know much for now on how it works, he nods and she looks satisfied from how he seems to understand better than her twin, and when someone enters and approaches the counter, Jane sees him and smiles, "you're here! I have a few papers for you to handle, new adventurers."

The man nods and after leaving with the papers, Lune asks Jane, "are there many new adventurers everyday or something?"

"Well," she pauses for dramatic effect, where Chilve has been using this time to check the request board, "it depends. Sometimes we have lots of them swarming in at once, and sometimes there's no one new for weeks. Anyway, you look familiar, are you someone from the palace perhaps?"

'Wait, I hope she doesn't recognise me as the princess.' "Sort of. My father worked in the palace so I might have stayed there for a few years during my childhood."

"Does life in a palace really look like what they have written in novels? It used to be my dream to have a prince charming riding on a horse to come and asks for my hand for marriage, but reality is not always this dreamy," she sighs with a sad look and shakes her head, "wel-" and her sentence is cut short when a child is crying from the back, where she excuses herself and before long, she is carrying a toddler who is now sniffling and she tries to coos at him, "oh, so cute. Are you doing babysitting as your odd job while being here?"

"Babysitting? Haha, no no-" she shakes her head while almost laughing out loud and realizes that her hands are still full and doesn't want to make the toddler cry again from being too loud, she calms herself down with a few deep breaths and smiles, "this is my son."
