The three of them travel together all the way back to the adventurer guild, where Jane welcomes them warmly and after they handled the requests they did, the trio sit down on an empty table and Lisa asks after placing her bow on an empty chair carefully, "so, what do you two want to eat? I know it isn't much, but the food at the guild is hearty and close to home."
"I don't really mind, as long as it's meat. What about you, Lune?"
"Actually, I'm craving for some rice and a few seafood dishes. I wonder if Jane has that on the menu," she waves at the receptionist and once she reaches their table, the blonde asks, "do you have rice?"
"Rice? What is that?"
"As in, the grains that you cooked as porridge yesterday? If it's steam properly with less water, it can become rice instead," with a hopeful look on her face, Jane feels sorry for bringing her bad news, "I don't think that's possible, because I doubt anyone in the kingdom knows about this. Chilve! I thought you said she is a local here. How does she know things we don't know?"
He shrugs and answers without missing a beat, "this is why she is special."
"Ah, then do you have noodles?"
Jane looks confused again and Lune wonders why the palace has all these while the city folks never heard of it, "it's made of wheat, and made into long thin strands?"
"I don't think we have that. What about some fowl stew and stuffed lotus roots? They are a hit with most people," Lune hopes for the best and nods, and finally Lisa says, "give me your house special."
"Certainly! Let me go and pass on your orders to the kitchen."
She leaves their table and Lune looks at Lisa and asks, "house special? What is that?"
"The house special here is actually a flaming meat pie! I love spicy foods so that's what hits me close to my heart. Are you not from around here? You seem to be knowledgeable about stuff that is not commonly heard."
Before she can explain, Chilve hears someone calling for him outside of the building and he excuses himself, and she finally continues when he is out of sight, "you can say that I come from another world."
.
..
…
Lisa bursts out laughing from her sentence and before she can argue that it's true, the redhead wipes some tears that comes out from laughing too hard and shakes her head, "that's the best joke I ever heard. Thanks, it really helps from thinking about the incident earlier again."
"I'm so sorry. The ruffians will receive their karma soon, don't worry too much about it," and Jane arrives with their orders, a bowl of fowl stew, stuffed lotus roots that are piled like a mountain, a plate of grilled meat, and a steaming hot meat pie that looks red through the pie skin, "eat up! By the way, the grilled meat is for Chilve, since that's what he always ordered anyway."
Thanking Jane for the food, Lisa cuts a small piece of the meat pie and offers it to Lune, where she accepts it and after a few chews, she can feel the spiciness kicking in, and she starts fanning her mouth with her hands, "it's really spicy!"
"Yeah! I come from a village that is famous for planting peppers as our main crop, so we often have something like this for a meal everyday," she eats her pie without much difficulty, while Lune has been downing cups of water and the jug is empty, "I need some refill."
After she gets another full jug of water, Lune's tongue is finally calm with more water, and she starts eating the stew with the lotus roots, "these are good. Sadly, I can't have them with rice."
"Are you a chef or something? Maybe you can cook the rice dish you mentioned since you sounded like you know the cooking method."
'That's it! Then, I might be able to sell some of the recipes I know from my past life and use the money earned for better equipment.' "You just gave me a great idea. Thanks Lisa."
"Welcome anytime! By the way, Chilve is late."
Sure enough, the albino is nowhere near in sight, and even though Lune knows he can take care of himself, she is still a little worried about his well-being, since there's always someone better than oneself no matter where one may go. Her worries are quelled when he comes back to the table unscathed, and he starts eating the grilled meat while asking Lisa, "so that's the house special?"
"Yup, wanna try?"
"Don't Chilve. I just finished two jugs of water just from a bite," he chuckles from her warning and wishes that he gets to see that, but he missed it due to some reporting by Ford, "by the way, are you sure you're free to travel with me? You seem to be busy handling your own work."
"I'm fine, I can juggle with it without much issues," Lisa looks up from her meal and asks, "you're not an adventurer? What do you do?"
"I do have an adventurer's license, but my day job is as a banker. I'm actually showing the ropes to Lune until she can travel by herself without my help after a period of time."
"Oh! Then, are you a new adventurer then, Lune? Then what do you do before becoming one?"
'I can't just tell her that I'm a princess, right?' "Actually, I'm a daughter of a noble family, but please do not say a word about it to others."
This makes Lisa getting excited and asks lots of questions about the life of a noble, and while Lune is trying her best to tone down her daily life of a princess to a casual noble, Chilve who finished his meal in the meantime gets up and says, "you girls continue, I have something quick to take care of and I will be back in a blink."
The girls nod and they continue their conversation, and after he exits the guild building, Ford seems to be waiting for him all this time and lights up when he sees him, "my lord, can we go now?"
"Yes, let's strike while the iron is hot."
