I had a dream last night, a hazy and vague one. It was unclear; but I'm sure it was exhilarating. How do I know that?
Because I distinctly remember that I was unsure, afraid, thrilled, amused and excited at the same time. Whatever I had experienced in that dream, it was a total adrenaline rush, that's for sure.
Rising from my bed, my body instinctively took on the direct course of action, starting my routine with a hearty breakfast consisting of a stack of pancakes with crispy streaks of bacon layered in between the stacks, smothered with a rich maple syrup.
In addition I had poured myself the lemonade I had made myself the previous night to cool, the drink itself was simple as it contained lemons, sugar, water as well as orange to give it an extra depth of flavour.
The bacon pancakes were as I had expected, sweetness from the syrup, saltiness from the butter and bacon. A mouthful of differing textures, what was not to like?
The lemonade was a great palate cleanser as it was light on the tastebuds and refreshing due to it being chilled, the slight tanginess from both the lemon and oranges really helped.
To note, next time I may amp the amount of sour flavour as there isn't enough of it, possibly by using zest. And substituting the white sugar with brown sugar as the latter is much more sweeter, but I'd have to add less the previous amount of sugar for the brown sugar to make sure that the molasses-rich sugar doesn't overpower the lemons and orange with its sweetness.
As I was sipping away on my cold cup of lemonade, I was surprised to see my mother running down the stairs and into the kitchen hastily, "Can't talk now. Have to go! Be good okay!" My mother as of now was wearing a dark green shirtdress, a white wide brimmed hat and shades.
In her decorated right hand was a black handbag that she held ever so tightly, as if it were the most precious thing to her. Which, some days, she treated it as. And today was possibly one of them.
Why? Easy. Her and my dad were going to attend a party at some resplendent adult only party hosted by a wealthy acquaintance of theirs.
Only problem was that party was literally hundreds of miles away from where we were. Residing in New York City. And we were in New Zealand, Auckland. Now, my parents could just go there directly by plane. But my parents wanted some time for themselves, so they made sure to go days before the party and have some fun while they were at it.
Luckily for me and my siblings, this meant we had the whole house to ourselves for four days and three nights. Which meant I had the leisure to lock myself away in my room until I get hungry or require a bathroom break.
With this knowledge, I ran upstairs to my room to prepare myself to grind away on my mobile games.
But not before I stocked up a couple of bottled water to take into my room, some snacks. Both fruit and junk food, to keep me going.
And the last thing were packets of sugar to help me ease into sleep via sugar crash into the night.
I approached my room, but I felt like I forgot something, so I then bolted away from the front of my bedroom door to peek outside the window on the end of the hallway. I witnessed our familiar white car zooming away from our neighborhood and onto the streets.
Smiling at this, I then returned to my room door, shouting out conspicuously as I slowly opened it, "Don't bother me if it doesn't concern me! If there's any trouble just text me! If you annoy me in any way, remember that I can easily ruin your lives!" I wait for a few seconds, and seeing that there were no refutals nor responses to my threat, I joyfully slammed my door, satisfied with the results.
"Now where was I? Oh, yes. I need to dump in my hoarded crystals for the Gacha today!"
I hope today is the day, Lady Luck is on my side. After all, I have stocked up millions of these gems, enough to give me over a hundred tries.
There's a high chance I'll get a Legendary Item or Character this time! Especially with how many crystals I have.
...
Traversing a plain of poppies, trampling down weeds here and there was a man with an impossible appearance. His skin was ashen white, with a tinge of purple to it. His hair was of a similar color, only lighter and highlighted with yellow.
On the sides of his head, near his brows were two dark blue wings that were folded flat against his head, strapping down his naturally curly hair.
The man was barefoot, yet somehow could comfortably walk the meadow of scarlet poppies without his feet becoming dirtied nor scratched.
He wore a white toga that faded downwards into gold. His soft and calm facial features and drowsy eyes induced a sense of ennui in others, making them slowly more lethargic by the minute.
Yet one could not pull themselves away from his handsome. Amber-like eyes that shone bright gold under the moonlight, slight curve of the mouth that could barely be considered as a smile. And yet it worked perfectly with his calm and collected exterior.
However, one should not discount the fact that he seemed ready to fight at all times seeing that his figure was toned and defined with musculature, his fists were loosely curled into a fist as well as him carrying a sheathed dagger around his waist.
It definitely made sense if he was adept at combat or at least self defense at some level if he was being casual about carrying a dagger on his toga.
The man then stopped the moment he saw where the poppies ended, his smiled widened as he saw that at the edge of the border, a man in a pitch black robe was waiting for him.
"Brother. It seems I have made you wait." The man in the toga spread his arms wide for a hug, but seeing that his sibling did not move from his position, he laughed and let his arms fall to the side.
"Tonight is the night. I hope you are ready for it." The robed man responded to his brother softly, his voice had a slight hesitation to it.
"Brother... Are you sure you wish to do this? After all, what have humans done to deserve something this great? The world is so much better without them." The robed man tries to persuade his sibling out of carrying out his plans once more.
But it failed, as always. His brother merely shook his head, saying that he did not truly understand yet. "Why are you going so far to do this? What's your purpose? It's not because those two peer pressured you right?" The robed man was indignant, he had no idea what to do about it now but argue.
But the man in the toga repeated his actions, this time rebutting his brother's words. "No, they did not bring me into this Thanatos. They are my friends, and friends help each other when they are in need. As for why, it's just that I had consulted that particularly creepy group of three that's why." His response caused an arched brow as well as a deep breath from his brother.
Thanatos clasped his hands together and pointed at his sibling, "Hypnos. Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down to? Which one?" Hearing his brother's stern reply, the one named Hypnos smacked his forehead and laughed.
"I forgot there were more than one. Sorry about that Nate, I was talking about the Norns." Unlike his brother, Hypnos was much more casual and free spirited.
Under the light of an unknown source, the two chatted away until the soft golden light became silver. "Oh dear, looks like Selene is serious. As expected, she pulled out all the stops to make this happen. I can't believe she managed to make the moon actually blue and not because of smoke or anything." Hypnos at firsthand witnessed the silver light deepen and take on a bluish tinge. Indicative of an unusual phenomenon.
"Now that the moon is ready. The pool beckons us. The door is ready." Thanatos, gazed up at the sky. He knew full well what the blue light signaled.
It was time for the century old plan of theirs to start. Originally he did not wish for his brother to be brought into this matter. But now, he knew that he could not stop him. As such Thanatos merely respected his wishes.
"The entirety of the Greek Pantheon is with us all. The power of all the pantheons reside with us. Remember? We are the Cosmos. The collection of all the Pantheons. And now, we shall protect the Earth with our lives. And someone shall keep it safe until we return!" Hypnos's impassioned speech lingered in Thanatos's mind.
He understood how life would be much better if all of humanity was dead, but he could never bring himself to harm the Earth itself.
And this day was not its destruction.
...
I have spent most of my time on games, YouTube and reading books. And I have to say, after those seventeen hours of eating, watching, playing and reading, I am pretty satisfied. Though very tired.
Looking at the one on my phone and I see that it's 11:55 PM. With five minutes till midnight, I decided to hit the hay.... Not!
Why would I? Five minutes is enough for a teenager's satisfaction. Sad as that is. Since it was dark in my room, I had no need to cause my neighbors to be wary of what I was doing late up at night.
As I walked away from my desk, I went on my phone and laid myself down on the bed. The fatigue I had built up now came rushing throughout my body, forcing lethargy to nearly overtake me. But I wasn't ready to sleep just yet.
Through sheer force of will, I forced my body to refuse the sweet embrace of rest. It was difficult, but I'll deal with that tomorrow.
As I strained my eyes hard to keep them from closing, I scrolled around on the Internet. Reading whatever news in the Youtuber world has come up. Whether they be scandals about beauty gurus or allegations against a gaming streamer, I delightfully read it all.
If one were to describe what I do at night, it's that I indulge myself in the satisfaction of gossip and schadenfreude. Since my own life is lacking any notably interesting things, I'd read things that is interesting to make up for it.
And within five minutes of traversing through the net, I had grown utterly interested in following a particular scandal. One with juicy drama, angered fans, angered fans over the angered fans and defending the Youtuber.
It was a perfect storm for an outright change in the world of YouTube. And I predict that another one may bite the dust this time. And I will gladly see through the end of it.
Yawning, I then realized that I was looking through gossip, midnight had already passed. Seeing this, I felt compelled to sleep as I was finally satisfied.
But the night wasn't over just yet. I strolled up to my closet door, pulling the handle sleepily as I slowly slid it to the side.
However, all of a sudden, the inside of my bifold closet emitted an luminescence brighter than any lightbulb I've had before.
It temporarily blinded me for two to three seconds. When I finally opened my eyes, I blinked rapidly in order to adjust to the sight before me.
I gasped audibly like never before, for the sight before me was beyond magnificent and otherwise impossible. Yet here I was.
I stood beneath a dark starry night, illuminated by a lustrous blue moon.
Right before my eyes was a rocky path of dark stone and grey gravel. Whatever the path led to, I felt an unknown force calling to me. Telling me to follow down the path.
I had no idea if my lethargy had anything to do with it at the time, but I was bewitched. By the mystery of it all, the beauty of the moon, the way its cold blue light cast over me. It was a wonderful feeling.
I walked. On and on, without stop. Not until I reached my destination. And when I did, I could not help but exclaim in true astonishment.
The sight before me was too beautiful not to remember. So I took a picture of it.
Right before me was a circular pool, bubbling with clear and deep blue water. The light that shone down on the pool illustrated its azure water, bringing out its appeal. I had no reason not to jump in.
I slowly walked up to the pool, feeling anticipant. I crouched down and dipped my hand into it. It was warmer than I expected.
Smiling, I stood back up and looked down. And without hesitation jumped right in. I had nothing in my mind but swimming in it at the time, I even forgot to set my phone down.
Luckily it was waterproof so it was fine. But at the time it didn't bother me at all. As if I knew nothing bad was going to happen at all.
As if, I had seen it before. As if I had been in this pool more than I could count. Maybe I have, maybe in my wildest dreams. But for now, that moment I took it all in.
