Apotheosis. It is the defined as being the highest point in the development of something. It's other definition was of someone's elevation into divine status.
Which makes a lot of sense considering it is the process of becoming a God. But before becoming a God, I'd need something people to remember me by. To immortalise my image and make myself memorable, and then have them revere me as a God.
Which personally sounds as if I'm making a cult, but if I'm being honest, every religion has one at least made somewhere in the world.
Hell, literally fandoms of TV shows, games, famous people can become so toxic and revering of a character enough that they could clearly be considered as a cult. Even if they don't say they are.
Scary as that sounded, I actually had no need to be so picky about it. But the thing was, how was I supposed to make them worship me when they knew nothing about me.
Now, I could just start up a YouTube channel and show off my powers. But then I would probably be tracked down by governments for experiments or killed and then dissected or even imprisoned and interrogated with blackmail.
No. I needed something more subtle and a lot less risky. I could also become an actor and star in a movie that would definitely make me famous.
However, I had no experience in doing that, nor would I know what movies will make me famous enough to be a God. Even if I did, who knew what would happen the moment I acted in it.
Would the results change? If it was me, then yeah, probably.
With no ideas left, I turned to social media since I was bored out of my mind. And as I was scrolling through Reddit looking at cute animals and awarding some posts, a notification popped up on my screen.
A Twitch notification that states that one of my favourite streamers were live at the moment.
I read the notification and read the title aloud to myself, "We're Finally Playing Hellside Today." That's when it hit me. The best way to get attention to myself, but also keep my true identity on the down low was, to make myself a game character!
A game character that was me, but no one knows it's me. I could create an entire freaking franchise that includes a game, TV series and movie!
And, I, or more rather, my character would be the mascot! It was a brilliant idea. Especially considering the fact that one of the current privileges I have was limited Creation.
I could create anything I wanted to, but it was limited to things I had an understanding of. Creating games required immense skills and knowledge of coding. But with magic, I could just cheat.
All I need was an intense imagination. The power to cast illusions, manipulation of my voice and a bunch of other things. And bam! I have a game.
But first, I needed to upgrade my equipment in order to make this work. I wanted to go start on this idea right away before I lose the concepts I've drawn in my mind.
I stood on my bed, glancing around my room a bit. "Too small." I muttered. That's right. My room was too small for this, I needed, "SPACE!"
Grasping the air before me, I envisioned the room to be expanding out into a separate dimension. Isolated from reality itself. "ENHANCE!"
Every and any item caught up in the process of my room expanding suddenly distorted and became malleable, contorting into the ideal items I wanted them to be.
Once I was satisfied, I stopped clenching my fists and inspected all around me once again.
Truly, it was magnificent. A large white void filled with an abundance of futuristic items.
My tablets floated in the air, projecting screens displaying lines of code that kept being added to at a rapid speed.
The monitors I had became noticeably larger and the desk it sat on now presented itself as a very large machine displaying possibly hundreds of buttons with different functions currently unknown to me.
The bed I stood on became king sized and fluffed up a lot. Pictures of me, my family and my friends were on the wall in gilded frames.
But the only thing that did not change in the slightest was my closet. After all, it was perfect the way it was and definitely not because I was afraid that something might happen to the portal that led to the pool dimension if I altered it in any way. Definitely not that.
Anyways, as I was scrutinising the appearance of my room, I had the Akashic Records to full on implement a program for me to work on for my game.
This would work as the basis and foundation for my plans. So, while it was doing that on auto mode, I went on to create the story.
For this I required an ambience that would help my creativity running. And that is where my upgraded notebook came in.
It was once a black hardcover notebook filled with my ideas. But now not only was it leather bound, but my ideas, or more rather, characters were given intricate and detailed images in accordance to my imagination.
And the first character I will start on is the character that will represent me.
Breathing out deeply, I decided to let my mind take over. "You shall be me, and I shall be you. So you are Lune. I shall create you in my image." Holding on to that very concept, I casted my spell and forced light to clump together and materialise a hyperrealistic projection.
In other words, an illusion made of solidified light. Colouring in the clothings and skin, rendering the image to give it that 3D game-like feel. The texture for the clothes looked a little off, so I decided to tone it down a bit and emulate the texture of silk.
I tested out the mouth movements, and try and see if there was any problem with motion. There wasn't. So, I had the Akashic Records stash the illusion away in data form for later use in game.
Actually, I could just film the illusions themselves and use a similar process to rotoscoping. But since it was a game, I wanted to have something a little more well, game-like.
Since I already had my character made, it was time to create the others.
The players are able to create their own characters and alter their appearance. And depending on whether or not they are adults, they can have more options to their appearance alterations.
They can also choose to use presets, but I would recommend them to make their own characters.
And to generate some interest, I also decided to add an option where they can choose to look androgynous by randomly mashing up their favoured looks with the opposite gender.
Though that option might be scrapped if it is too difficult to implement. If that happens, I can always add the option of changing genders.
Of course there should be playable characters that help the players and can be played as.
Initially though I was thinking I should make this a Gacha game. But that would ruin the fun a bit since I wanted the players to focus on the story and not the fact that gambling is fun.
Speaking of which, the story will be quite complex actually. So, the players start at a place similar to my Metamorphosis Pool and rise to the top from the bottom of a lake.
As they surface, they see the full moon cast its light upon them. A cut scene of a battle appears between two winged entities.
One a devil, the other an angel. Seeing this, all of a sudden their character rises up and they must choose whose side to pick.
If they pick the devil, the player is possessed by the devil and obtains the title 'Devil Host' and may chance upon learning a forbidden form of Magic.
If they pick the angel, the player is possessed by the angel and obtains the title 'Angel Host' and may chance upon learning a rare form of Magic.
Whichever they pick, the player's character struggles to fend the possession off and two other characters comes in between the fight.
Separating the possessed one from the parasite and sending the player, that will be known as a 'Reincarnate' by the characters and then sent off into a different part of the world.
And that's just the beginning of the game. Later on something much more exciting will happen.
But for now, I have work to do. I can't just keep creating characters and detailing the stories here. I needed something more.
"So, humanity likes to play games. Since that's what they want, I'll give them that and in extolled get what I want. Now that it's begun, game on."
