Chereads / Zombie Harem with a System / Chapter 27 - ZOMBIE KART?!

Chapter 27 - ZOMBIE KART?!

"You know what? Forget it. We make mistakes sometimes," I retracted, while waving my hands back and forth. "But remind me to never give you a gun, girl."

But the damage I did to the young lass stained her mind after hearing my words. It even made the woman quiver, which almost lost the grip of her firearm. Well, everyone would, especially if a zombie would eat that person alive. And I was that zombie slash human slash handsome undead in this world.

Fortunately, she snapped out of that trance after getting hit by her brother. And a faint killing intention came from those little eyes of that kid when he glared in my direction. Her little brother wanted to retort after hearing my words. But that boy also knew the grave of our situation, which kept his mouth shut as a seashell.

If his sister only aimed at the spider perfectly, we would escape this place like butter running through the road. But after witnessing such an embarrassing sight, the streets had lavas everywhere, which would melt our butter!

It was the superb analogy I could think of. And luckily, there were zombies in those siblings' vicinity. But it won't be long until those braindead creatures would aim for their asses.

Wait a minute…. Did I just make myself stupid with those words? I probably did.

"Kid, push the trolleys now, or forever hold your peace!" I cried, and motioned my hand at the kid.

(Author's note: Speak now or forever hold your peace came from the priest's line when someone would get married.)

The boy heeded my command and shoved the carts forward towards me. Those eight shopping carts aligned themselves together while rolling in my direction. I rushed towards the front, extended my arms, and blocked the train of trolleys before they could reach the other side.

Thankfully, none of those trolleys strayed from their path. If that happened, we would say bye-bye to these bump-cars.

"Please don't break my arms, please don't break my bones. Actually, please don't break anything at all!" I pleaded, and gulped the lump of infectious saliva inside my already broken oesophagus.

I cannot die, but that did not mean my body would be as tough as nails hammered on a wood. My extremities and muscles could tear apart if a forceful action blasts me away. One cough from a person could blow my stick body away if I wouldn't be careful. And that would happen if these trams would crash against me.

Fortunately, I held my ground and gathered all eight of them within my grasp. It was like taking candy from a baby, but that baby was Adolf Hitler. I barely missed three of the pushcarts at the side but eventually scooped them at my fore. With all the strength left inside of me, I directed the octa-trolley towards the side.

"Step right up, everyone! We have such a haggle for today! Which cart do you want to ride and escape this stupid zombie apocalypse, hm? Everyone, take one carat each and drive-through towards the station!" I announced, as if I was a bidder inside an auction hall.\

All the yakuza, including the siblings that had just arrived on the scene, blinked a million times. As soon as they witnessed my embarrassing joke, they all brushed it off as if nothing happened.

I did not know if that was an offending thing or a blessing in disguise. But I did not bother that much and chose a cart for my own.

I was just kidding. Fuck these seven people present at my fore. They didn't laugh when I threw a joke. Then I won't laugh either if they said something funny! It was a plan that would stick inside my brain until fulfilling it.

"What are we going to do with these?" asked Obayun, who did not know the essence of this scheme.

"Honestly, I have no idea. But we could use it as a temporary scooter. Come on, follow my lead. I know what to do," I answered, and extended my arms to make my grand entrance.

Those seven idiots did not know what came to their fore as I demonstrated the value of these mother-fucking carts. Well, I also needed to place my frying pans inside my pockets, hoping they wouldn't fall. But as long as I had some loose skin that could clip those melee weapons, those skillets were good to go.

Within a few seconds, I dashed like a professional scooter in the Olympics and raced forward. I had never done this for a long time. And when I did, my mother would always scold me. Those memories were thorns inside my heart.

But at least I became a kid again right now.

"ARE YOU SEEING THIS? GODDAMN, THIS FEELS GOOD!" I shouted, and closed my eyes.

Unfortunately for me, I slammed against a pole and destroyed the scooter I had. After colliding from the traffic light, my bones cracked like fucking glow sticks used in concerts. But right after a couple of seconds, my body regenerated back inside of me.

Those seven people who watched me had an idea about what I performed. And they were about to do it right now before….

"BEFORE THAT ATTACKS!" I growled, and watched the spider do something at the sides.

When I glance at the insect's flank, that spider tied up dozens of zombies inside their sleeping bags. But after squinting my eyes, that was no comfortable sleeping bag used in campfires. Those white strings were web fluids from the spider and made a cocoon out of the regular zombies.

Everyone turned around and faced the spider creeping towards our asses. It won't be too long before that eight-freaking son of a bitch would web and bite us.

"Oh, boy. That's not what I have signed up for!" I yelled, and went beside Obayun's shopping cart.

He was the only man closest to me. And the only guy who had yet sat on the mechanical, four-wheeled transportation. I did not want to sit inside the trolley, considering this yakuza would throw me to the side.

"If I were you, yakuza, I would start running right now."

After I said those words, Obayun listened to my suggestion and sprinted like a madman. That yakuza never warned me about anything at all and hit the fucking nitro of this shopping cart.

And while that happened, those six people in our team already had a jump start from this chase scene. Since I paired up with this yakuza leader, he wanted everyone to go first before himself.

It was an admirable feat that the gang's leader would make sure that his members would stay alive. However, we still had some problems. If this continued, the two of us would fight against zombies catching up from our behind.

The scene was as if we were running away from a police car, bringing some cash with us. But instead of those bluish paper Yen, our lives were on the line. If we ever slowed down, those zombies would catch up on our tails. And if we talked about our position like from the racing sports, we were dead last among the contestants.

"You might want to, you know, catch up with the rest of the team," I insisted at the yakuza's leader.

But Obayun just growled at me in his reply. "Or maybe not. Take your time. It's not like I'm not going to die….."

Thanks to my superior zombified body, I mimicked Obayun's feet and raced with the cart. My action alone carried this yakuza leader, especially when we finally gathered enough speed from this pursuit.

Fortunately, after a few minutes, the station's layout greeted our eyes from miles away. But that part was on the other side of this road. Our six friends had already taken a sharp left turn from that eighth street, right across the adult toy store.

And the other streets had countless traffic lights and lamp poles standing on each street on our road. But those pillars would fall on the ground at any second if someone nudged it with their hands.

But that fortune cost us something. The only problem was shoving these zombies at the side so they won't follow us around.

I glanced at Obayun, hoping to study his expression. That yakuza stared back and returned my gaze. My lips automatically flashed a faint smile at the yakuza beside me. Obayun matched my gleam and revealed his cavities inside his mouth.

"Please don't say we're going to distract the horde of zombies…." I whispered, and shook my head.

Out of respect, Obayun gave me his reply. But I did not like one bit of his head shaking at each side, retorting otherwise.

It was too late. Obayun had already made up his mind and would use me as a distraction. Well, he would also play a part in these shenanigans. But I would be the driving force behind this suicide scheme.
