"The great bone halls have been raised for this day. Today we will battle it out to the death!" The hundred thousand strong crowd burst out in cheers at the words of the master. He has invited every locked tomb, sealed cemetery and isolated crypt. Covering other major undead noble lines. The master lets the shrills of nightmarish looking ghouls howl through the halls. The Locked tombed Spirit clans all sit around the blood throne master. Enemies and allies alike all are present as the 34 noble spirit clans.
"Why would they all come didn't you say the spirit clans are all at war." Pluto is learning fast that in politics showing is as important as being invited. Most of the spirit clans have no skin in this fight. Yet the master of every notable Mausoleum is here. Reeva has been pointing out all the complexity of undead society to him.
"It's because of our venue. The bone halls belong to the Thirteen Skeleton Saints, who give us all our skeleton warriors. As written in the blood of the only dark god, the treaty of Dread is right over there. This is where most noble lines come from, like the blood thrones, we trace our line back to the Spirit King Bloodthrone. That guy over there with the silver crown of ravens is the actually only Spirit King of the Ravenforest spirit clan." Pluto's eyes try to follow everywhere Reeva points. The Bone hall is alive with the history of all undead. Pluto is learning more about the various clans.
"That's stupid. How many skeletons can they really have?" Valania hanging off the shoulder of the master. Valania does whatever she wants. She is rather carefree, but it doesn't seem to bother the master. Or rather, he has said nothing to Pluto about his War Wraith. She has also made the master popular, as they mistake her for another one of his new children. The spiritual masters, like the Bloodthrone master, can tell there is something odd about this spirit.
"Don't let them hear you say that. They have destroyed anybody who threatens their grip on the bone armies. The Dread Treaty binds us all spirits, undead, and unlife." That perks his ears up, few places have references to Unlife. The lock tombs section, for example, not only lists the types of spirits but also why Mausoleums are best for them.
The Sealed cemeteries or Boneyards provide a similar function for skeleton undead. While Crypts are mostly for the undead with flesh like zombies. The vampires have removed all other types of flesh undead as royals, at least on Moribund.
"You see here, this is what you must build. Unlike father who is possessing a Draugr warlord, that the zombie barons made for him." Pluto didn't think that it was this deep, as a human you just that some undead are stronger because they have been dead longer.
"What is an arcosolium?" Pluto ask as an unlife. It is his place of state. This is where he will return to if he is killed in the living world.
"Nothing you need to worry about at your level. You will use a sarcophagus for now. Once we upgrade you, then one day, probably a hundred years from now. You will be strong enough too.
Pluto's eyes glow through his suit. A flash of violent red, "I don't need that long!" Pluto wants to kill all his enemies as soon as possible, while he knows it won't be easy. If he takes a hundred years, then he will feel like he failed even if he kills them.
Reeva smiles and waves at the Van Helsung vampire family. Their families have a long relationship as the Blood throne's provides designer blood. It is the main source of souls for them. She leaps into the arms of Helga Van Helsung a rather brutish looking vampire. Pluto's competition, the Harrows follow, they are spirit vampires and feed on spirits instead of undead. It's why they have light green almost olive skin.
Corr and the Von Strokers arrive last even after the zombie barons. The festival is already halfway through before the fight can begin. Pluto is a little nervous. This is a demonstration of his ability.
Marcus Van Helsung chuckles, talking to his sister Helga at the table where Pluto, Valania and Reeva are at, "Do the Von Stroker think a stupid tactic like time-wasting is really going to them an edge. Typical unlifers." Pluto has learned that because people like Corr comprise dead bodies from different types of beings. They aren't considered undead, rather they sort of fall into the category of Unlife as even though they were once alive. It was never in the combination they exist in now. So many believe they are unlifers.
Pluto though, knows that as undead chimaera they belong with the crypt, being removed from that power source can explain why they are viewed so poorly. Another function of crypts, tombs, is to bind undead together. All undead receive a bonus the bigger the crypt they are a part of is.
The head of the Von Stroker's is one ugly winged chimaera with a mostly Elven body. His right arm is a monster. Rage Von Stroker wobbles forw3ard as his one leg is still healing from a recent campaign. Faking sincerity, "Forgive us, we were running behind because Corr over here finally got his gryphon wing."
Corr is beaming with joy, his parents have spoiled him with the best body parts. As a newly constructed under fifty years old. He has spent most of his time building his body to what it is today. His main body is an orc, elf hybrid. If Pluto believes Reeva cost them an entire legion of Battle spirits. His arms and legs are uncovered today, showing his fire element arms. His new gryphon wings are nothing short of spectacular.
"Do you think you can beat him?" Reeva asks Pluto, though she has personally trained it is no secret that he isn't high levelled. The master keeps saying to them, "Levels are just an excuse, a true warrior fights with his blood." He means a that as long as one is trained enough they can over come level. Pluto who knows this is real and why he wanted to learn the scythe specifically from him is to abuse this level hoping advantage.
"Of course I can do you know who my father is, plus if don't my sister will summon me to the living world and trap my spirit in a cesspool." Everyone laugh expect Pluto at first he too thought she was hiking but just looking at her now, shows him that she is deathly serious about it.
"I will do no such thing. But if you lose and happen to have a bought of bad luck and all those terrible things happen to you it will not be undeserved. " Everyoine burst out again.
"What a wonderful pair you two are. Will he joining us?" Helga is intrigued by this new addition to her friends family. Given how much fan fair sourronds she would be quite happy if he join Moribund Holy Crusade Academy. His armor makes him especially mysteries and as a future calamity caller such things interest her the most.
"Yeah I will be as soon as I'm done wiping the floor with these two. Who think they can marry my sister." Pluto has learnt that his future is at stake her, due to his older brothers behaviour if Reeva gets married it will transfer their stored souls to which house she joins. THe practice is rare but the families agree to it implicitly when they sign a marriage agreement. What Pluto is fighting for is to remove his sister sole claim as the heir to their father's sizable fortune.
However, since the master also wants his daughter free this obligation, he made a thousand years ago. They have to fight it out. This will allow all of them to their separate ways with no living blood between. The entire affair is the talk of the town. How, the Master of blood throne drunk off the potential of his children. Has given up the ghost and cut off his failing houses last life line for an uncertain future.
Reeva and Pluto are under intense scrutiny. As future leaders of Bloodthrone, they must appear to both regal and powerful. The Regal part mostly handled by Reeva as she snuggles up with the undead elite her to watch her brother.
Those that believe the master is making a mistake are here to him fail while his friends are praying to all the dark god herself to let Pluto somehow come out victories. Most of all, Pluto is hoping take all he has learnt and unleash all his newfound power on the pair. He will set the stage for his vengeance today. The sight people will see will leave them talking about Pluto for months to come.
