Chapter 19 - The Siren but not really

I am in a mad frenzy as the spectral armour on my body reacts to the presence of a new spirit. This link skill empowers all of us. A large chunk of what I read early as tremendous background stuff has a lot to do with skills sharing and experience exploiting. Every general is still their own being, but their growth is now tied to me and, by extension Valania. If I'm reading this correctly, each of them will have 1/4 of my power in their armour in exchange for me receiving that much experience in return. My head hurts not like a headache, but like some took a hammer to my skull.

The armour changes before all our eyes. I startle awake, not sure if this is still that terrible dream. The reason I cover myself completely in armour is that I am afraid. This is protection against a force so powerful. I can't enough imagine fighting them, not that will stop. Killing a God is only impossible until you do it, after all. Still, this suffering is painful and I will dish it out on his believers in return.

I only relax in Reeva's arms because I can feel her through the suit. It has gained a new quality, it is more like a second skin now. Everything feels closer, which makes the suffering worse. I cry out at being so weak that I could do nothing. While my family died again, while Unibas ripped me apart. I did nothing, I am protected By Pepa even if it's not perfect. I'm unlife and that should mean something. Every day I have been dealing with this. Every day, it is a new vow, but anything to keep going. The urge to give up, to realise how insurmountable the odds truly are. Make me shake violently with refusal. "I will fucking kill them all."

Reeva didn't let go. Rather she is feeding off the anger that glow blue off my armour, absorbing it as a limitless source of energy. "Good, don't control it let all out to the surface." An arm clad in a thin red dress. Black arms sleeves with the sigils and runes found in my magic pattern. Grabs as the neck of Reeva forces her away.

Moments after my war wraith, in battle form. Is a splendour to behold to me in that she is from the very tip of her head to the bottom of her nonexistent toe. A lighter yet equally impenetrable Spectral Armour covers her. It's Blues that flow into blacks that come out as hints of purple. Her feminine, exquisitely plated in the light looking armour. A longbow mithed[1] from the embers of decimation.

"She didn't mean any harm!" A voice I don't know says, or rather one I heard just before everything went white and it pulled me into that vicious, painful, crippling fear-inducing place. It is Topa, the beautiful, he is magnificent, his skin has an ethereal quality I didn't notice before. Behind, towering in the space between spirit and magic. Is a massive Green and Golden spirit carrying a sword that must be three times its size. It's his spirit. Topa's power appears to me like a towering figure.

He is in between an unfamiliar figure. I can feel her. Her long black hair flows as she turns to me. All around the power my power flowers. She is more than she was before. Decimation is being held back by spectral armour that looks like clothing. "Come," I say to her, the words convey more than just command, but a memory, intent and, after a short back and forth, Theana obeys.

Small cracks appear on Valanias' armour flake of death magic, becoming the form I am most familiar with. I eye them standing next to each other. One is a long-distance summoner, and the other is annihilation. She glows of death, everything she is! Boggles even my mind. She is tied to a part of me that even I fear. The last gift I received from Unibas, the element of Decimation. IT is so powerful it kills the user once they lose control of it. Theana could destroy us all. And yet I trust the same I do my arm, it is not even a question of trust.

Reeva fixes her herself, absolutely glowing that it worked. I think she did a little dance. I shake my head in a low clearly exhausted voice mutter, "Why would do that."

Reeva comes closer, my girls eyeing every move she makes. "Because silly, every other time we put her into a host. She killed them. One poor fellow was haunted by her for three weeks before he give in to the call of Stillness." It seems in her own way she was looking out for me. Whatever her ability is it is deadly in a way that I hadn't expected.

I thank as she goes to explain the various ways in which one hundred and seventeen thousand souls perish trying to find one the forsaken could bond with. Heads explode and spiritual malification is the Forsaken preferred method of consumption. Those she could subsume were feed to stillness.

Topa interjects at this point, already tired of being a wall flower. He throws his arms into air. Magic strings pull mine in tandem. The man is a sage, after all, he asks all kinds of invasive and personal questions.

I rebuff, "Of course, I can see that they are both, absolutely and literally drop-dead gorgeous." Topa didn't have to put it so bluntly. Just because I chose a skeleton form doesn't mean as I grow I can return to something more fiendish or become something altogether greater. By luck, I parry every hint at the Heart of Atla. It is too great a secret and the fact that he nearly saw it in my soul is a significant risk. His thirst for knowledge eventually forces him to deal with Theana.

Hearing her voice is something else. It sounds nothing her spirit. Almost and I mean by the slimmest of paper-thin margins. Is Valania's voice sweeter at least to my ear. Theana has a bitterness that Valania has never let come through. Even now, as she remembers more of herself, she is still a joyful and somewhat irritating War Wriath. Her personality is incredibly grinding but I wouldn't change her not even for three Theanas.

I can already tell that Theana is a fighter of some kind. Even before she used her battle, form she had enough power to move Reeva. An impressive thing because even she isn't fighting with intent, her magic should have protected her. My level is now near Reevas in every sense and Theana broke through that, the mark on Reeva's neck is all the proof I need.

Topa turns to me, rubbing his face. It was the third time he had called Theana Esame'el, and she punished him for it. "Little brother. She is precious to me, you know. You owe me." Topa stops Reeva just like she can with the potential I possess, but unlike her, that sees political and economic growth, Topa only sees power. Even I can tell that it will cost me a lot, but Topa assures by the time he asks for his singular payment, I will more than powerful enough to fulfil it.

The excitement soon starts anew. "Are you sure? I mean, look at them. They are perfect. YOu could dodge all the low hanging fruit and doubt anybody, but the great masters will be able to figure it out. Plus, it is not unheard of to date owns whatever they are."

I say in a rather treble voice while being princess carried by Theana, "They are my generals and I still need two more before the academy starts." The general fill gasps in my power that I didn't know existed, Theana ability to control and Harness Decimation is a clear indicator that maybe Valania is similar too and holds something in her. After all, hers is the only one I can't decipher, added Theana helped, but there is still a ton of magic patterns around her that I do not know as to their purpose.

Reeva looks at me, and it gives me a dusk skeleton. "Don't worry, my friends and I are doing an outbreak. It's a small isolated mountaintop village. So you should be safe enough for you to come with." Cold chills, and the numbness should only last another hour I can already wiggle my toes. Outbreaks are small events that lesser undead appears around. I never really thought about it until now. They use it, we use it to train and prepare for the real thing.

It's perfect as I can finish polishing off Theana, bringing her up to standard and level, plus my itch to kill the followers of Unibas is unsated.

[1] Mithed: Verb, to believe in something so much that it becomes real.
