Today I've decided to explore the town a little and look for a job so I can have a proper routine in my life.
yes, I'm like that.
I change my nightwear into some jeans and a cute sweater with some combat boots.
I smile when I look at my reflection in the mirror. The person staring at me looks radiant and cheerful. Something I wasn't for a long time.
I brush my hair and do a half up and half down hairstyle. I find them pretty adorable.
After doing that I take my bag and walk out of my room locking it and stroll down the stairs.
As I'm hiking down the stairs, a voice stops me.
"You going somewhere, Darling?" Tyler asks me from the top of the staircase looking handsome as ever.
I have been avoiding him for the past 30 hours or something. After he said those words he softly smiled at me and continued with his dinner and after that, he walked me to my room and oh so lovingly kissed my cheek lingering a little.
I didn't give him much attention yesterday trying to stay with Victoria or in my room most of the day.
I just don't wanna get involved with him.
besides, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want me either. He was just being nice.
And look what you are doing Lia. You're avoiding him like a big meanie. stupid.
but I mean I just don't want anyone to get hurt.
'idiot.' my subconscious says.
"Darling?" Tyler's voice brings me back to reality.
"Yeah just going out for a bit for job hunting," I tell him my plan for today as he slowly yet gracefully comes down the staircase.
"You probably don't know your way around the town. You'll easily be lost so Let me assist you please." He says reaching at the end of the stairs where I was standing.
He is right though.
"Sure, do you need to get ready?" I ask him agreeing to him coming with me.
He tilts his head to the side a little and graces me with his wicked smile."
"No Darling. Let's go, shall we?" He asks nudging me with his arm to hook mine.
I look at his bent arm and back at his face.
Why is this guy so damn nice and polite for no reason?
If he keeps up this attitude then I might start liking him.
I grab his arm making his smile widen.
We walk out of the property and Tyler doesn't take a vehicle but continues leading us on the streets.
"You usually don't need to drive around here cause it's a small town everything is like around the corner." He explains to me.
Somehow he always knows what I'm feeling or thinking.
"So Vampire, are you a mind reader or something?" I ask him making him through his head laughing softly.
So very good-looking.
"No love, your face tells it all, about what you're feeling."
oh. well.
"So I've been wanted to know more about this town," I state hoping he would start giving me the tea about this town.
Tyler puffs a breath and starts speaking.
"Well, you already know vampires and wolves live here. But this region was ruled by Arthur Knight the first, who was a werewolf over 7 centuries ago. Now it is ruled by his great-grandson, Ulric Knight." He says his name is full of respect and pride.
Hearing that name only gives me chills.
"Vampires were not really.....liked by the people back in the days. But Alpha Knight the first fought for us and let some of the vampires live in his pack."
"I'll not go into detail cause it was a bloody mess. Everyone lost someone dear to them in that bloodshed. Victoria lost her husband, The twins and Caleb lost their parents, Hector lost his wife." He tells me with sorrow and hidden anger.
It must be so hard for all of them.
"Who did you lose in that war?" I ask before I could help myself.
"My family." He says those words with such misery and grief it makes me want to hug him.
I stop walking making him stop too. I look up at him and he smiles softly already knowing what I want to say.
"Don't feel bad darling, I've made my peace with it."
"I know. This just, made me think of my mother."
I let out quietly, looking at the people walking by, and he looks at me with a knowing look.
"I'm deeply sorry for your loss love." He says and gently embraces me into his arms.
I know I should feel grateful in this moment and I do but that was before he hugged me.
Now I feel like I'm committing a crime by hugging him.
we pull away from the hug and he decides that first I need to try their town's coffee shop reason according to him it's the best cause they have the best blood to drink in the morning.
We get in there and order our coffee.....my coffee and his blood and walk out of the shop instead of sitting inside so he could show me around in a more delightful way. His words.
"That is the bus stop, the buses arrive usually at 9 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 7 in the evening. Oh and there's a park as well. Not many creatures go there so if you would like to have an alone moment you can go there. It's just two blocks from here. Let's go there come.
I nod along as he explains all the customs and rules of the town.
He takes me to the park and the sight of the park is so relaxing and calming. The Park is filled with luscious trees and there's even a small lake at the center of the park.
It's breathtaking.
But what makes me the happiest is that there are swings in this park. I have an undying love for swings. They make me feel like I'm free somehow.
" Can we go to the swings, please?" I ask him looking up at him and he glances down at me and nods smiling softly.
I run past him to the swings making him laugh loudly at my tactics.
I sit on the swing and start swinging lightly watching him stand in his spot a few feet away from me with a secretive smile before suddenly he's in the swing next to me using his speed.
"That. was. awesome!" I say to him referring to his speed and he laughs shaking his head.
As we make our way out of the park suddenly my heartbeat starts to quicken up. I stop for a moment and close my eyes to calm myself down.
My breathing also starts to pick the pace and I feel sudden adrenaline run through my body.
What's happening to me?
Must be the coffee I drank.
" Are you okay love?" Tyler's voice makes me open my eyes and I nod at him before looking towards the road side to see a man from his broad back getting in a black car.
