For the past half an hour I've spent the time staring at the gorgeous woman in front of me who happens to be my mate.
I've watched her do her first job here which consists of taking out books from the huge box and setting them on the respective shelves, all the while trying to pretend that I'm not here or rather like I'm invisible but it's clear that she's WELL aware of my presence by her red cheeks and faster than a bullet heartbeat.
It's a blissful and interesting feeling to find your mate for life. What makes it more interesting is that your mate wants you but is trying her hardest to not be affected by the mate bond.
"When are you gonna stop staring at me? it's annoying." Aelia softly calls me out while grabbing a book from the box.
"I tend to look at things I find beautiful," I reply flirtatiously trying to impress her, hopefully. I get an eye roll from her in return making me smile from the inside.
Before her, I never had someone to Impress.
Goddess, she's breathtakingly gorgeous.
"I'm not a thing...." she says softly.
"But you are beautiful." I say making her cheeks go crimson like cherries.
She scoffs and walks by me to the next shelf making me close my eyes by inhaling her unique and sweet scent.
'mate is different.' my wolf says and I can't agree more.
Her scent is different than any human or wolf or any hybrid I've come across. The wolf aroma is faint but still there but I can't put a finger on what's the other thing I can sense.
She's not a wolf or at least a full wolf and definitely, not a human but whatever may she be, above all, she's my mate and I'll accept her for all of her and protect her with my life.
I'm debating on asking her about her kind or not. I wanna respect her so I can't just command her to do so. She wants to hide her identity, I can tell.
I want to hold her. I can't resist not having her close to me anymore.

Most of the time up here I've spent trying to ignore two things...more precisely a wolf and a feeling. One, Ulric, or shall I say Alpha Ulric, and two, this weird feeling that is flowing through my whole body.
I can feel him walking up to me from the back. The sound of his footsteps is making my heart do somersaults but the thing is, I don't know what I'm feeling and how to portray this said feeling. So I'm trying to do the best thing I know I can do. Ignore and run away.
His footsteps stop right behind me, so close to me that I can feel his body heat, pulling me to him. I feel his massive hands on my hips making me forget how to breathe.
"Aelia." He whispers my name while slowly dragging his hands from my hips up to my waist and turning me around to face his chest.
I crank my neck up to look into his eyes. His mesmerizing eyes make me weak to my knees.
"yeah?"
"We have to talk mate." He says those five words calmly keeping our eye contact.
"Talk about what?" I reply looking away to look like I don't know what he's talking about.
People should take lessons from me on how to avoid confrontation 101.
He scoffs and gently grabs my jaw with his hand and moves it so I'm starting into his, now glowing eyes.
"You very well know why we need to have a talk lovely mate. Please sit down and let's have a much-needed conversation." He grumbles these words pressing his body further into me.
"I don't want to. What are you gonna do about it?" I reply, wanting to stall this as much as possible knowing full well that I'm kinda disrespecting the Alpha.
Okay well not 'kinda'
I hear a snarl from him and he pulls my face closer to him by his grip on my jaw making me widen my eyes in shock.
"Aelia.....Sit down here or else I'm gonna put you over my shoulder...take you to my office and keep you in there with me till you stop ignoring me, your mate."
Ulric whispers these words to my face his voice dropping deeper and sounding stern and at the edge.
"I-" I try to say something but I get interrupted by a shout.
"Alpha! We have a problem!"
