Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

"Okay you can do this Victoria, you got this," she said to herself in a low tone so none of the silver guards could take notice of her…yet. While her grandfather, Jasper was hiding in one of the nearest bush he can hide in. In the meantime, Victoria walks towards the soldiers and started to act,

"Hello, soldiers." She waved at them while one of them said, "Miss, you're not supposed to be here this is the forbidden Highcloud gates you know."

"Yes I know I'm sorry and I'm trying to get to Aspenhallow, do you which direction I should go to?" She asked while the two index fingers were facing two directions, north and south. The guards started to explain where she had to go.

Meanwhile, Jasper then ran towards the big forest trees but then all of a sudden he threw a small rock and aimed it at Victoria's neck.

"Ouch. And thank you very much, guardian's," she said as she yelped and thanked them and later on left and went down the hill and soon met up with her grandfather Jasper.

Later on, they both met up in Barnaby's bar right close to the entry of the village of Cornelia. However, Victoria still had her now empty basket, decided to leave it on one of the stands and went inside the bar. The bell hanging by the door called the attendant's attention; Victoria scanned the bar and caught up with her grandfather who was sitting on the corner bench seats.

"Victoria, so glad you could make it." He said as she sat next to him and he ordered the bartender from far to serve them some wine. Besides, since Victoria is only 15, she declined the order of wine her grandfather offered her and ordered water instead.

"Now then," he started as he took a sip of his wine as took a sip of water. "You said you live in an orphanage right?"

"Yes, I've been living there ever since I could remember my mother telling me my name, who my parent's names are and I should not hand over my necklace to anyone. Moreover, it has belonged to the Fairchild family for generations and that is about all." Victoria answered him. He clears his throat and then,

"Victoria, you must know this before they find me alright?" he asks her. Victoria nodded in response as he continues to explain,

"You must keep it to yourself as low as possible so that Fairchild doesn't find you or your necklace."

"But, why is my necklace so important to him?" she asked while looking at him curiously while grabbing her necklace. He answers her,

"Because the vampires, werewolves and humans want the power of the necklace of Life. And if any of those 3 tribes have it, it could lead us to death."

"But what if the vampire's had my necklace? Would they have destroyed us or…?" she questions him.

"One of the vampire clan had it, they would have annihilated the werewolves, two if the werewolves had it they would do the same to them and if the humans had it they'd have enough power to kill us all vampire and werewolves so they don't have the trouble in hunting us anymore without us…monsters." He finishes while looking at his wine. As Victoria's eyes widened in shock, that the humans called them monsters and she just hated the thought of them hating by humans. Because of what they are not perfect.

"So…that's why it is so important for them. Because they think, the world is not fair. Nevertheless, why did my grandfather? Fairchild gave my mother the necklace of life?" she questioned her grandfather when looking at him straight in the eye with her golden eyes.

He sighed and said, "Well, I am so glad you asked because…"

Then all of a sudden, the soldiers of Cornelia broke down the door of the bar. They were dressed in golden armour along with their moonlight crest, as for their swords made out of silver mixed with gold because vampires and werewolves are immune to it. Also, her grandfather and Victoria were shocked.

"How did they know that my necklace is here? But what do we do, grandfather?" she asked her grandfather in panic as he said, "We'll escape through the back and head towards the market, where it's crowded by humans what do you think?" he looks at Victoria and looks again to the where the soldiers were as they were scanning the bar.

"Yes." She says finally with her serious tone.
