Alexa
It was then she saw the wolf; a massive creature with a brown coat. Its eyes glared at her. It sniffed and growled. She stood transfixed on the place. Then it charged.
She yelped and ran. She put all her energy and ran. But the wolf was still on her trail. She could have outrun it if she hadn't made the mistake of looking back.
She lost her footing and went sprawling on the gravel.
It advanced, eyes filled with malice.
Ten foot... eight foot.... the triumphant look in its eyes almost looked human.
Six foot... and it pounced.
She covered her head by her hands and waited for the skin piercing teeth but then she heard shuffling and growling.
She opened her eyes to see a huge, bigger than the wolf who advanced her, fighting with it. The wolf protecting her had a black smooth coat that shone in the moonlight. They fought, the black wolf growling and biting tearing at each other's flesh until the brown wolf was down then her saviour turned to look at her.
She didn't know what got to her but she got up and ran. She didn't see the car advancing on her. She got down and the car was on her when she was picked up by something sharp and then it was running.
The wind rushed pass her and she almost felt at ease until she looked up and saw that the black wolf was carrying her in its mouth. She sucked in a sharp breath and prayed to all the gods she knew that it won't eat her, but strangely she felt some kind of connection to it. She didn't know how much time they kept on running until they emerged by a lake, the same picture that was his wallpaper, near a very familiar background.
It dropped her by the water and looked with its dark eyes until it changed to - was its sea-green? It maintained eye contact and strangely, she felt calm, it saved her anyway. Twice to be precise but yet chased her too.
Then it moved towards her slowly. Instinctively, she raised her hand and all was silent until it nudged its nose against her palm. Its fur felt warm and soft, then she realized that the sun was rising. As the sunlight penetrated through the leaves, the wolf simmered and changed.
Holy mother of Jesus! Werewolves? She thought, her mouth hanging open, until there was no wolf in front of her, only her handsome jerk who was crouching before her with his signature smirk.
"You look pale," he stated matter-of-factly, cheerfulness disappearing in a second.
"You are a damn werewolf!" She stated the obvious.
He looked offended. "No, not damned werewolf. Just the leader of my pack till I find my mate and take the alpha title."
"My god," she whispered, "Why didn't you tell me."
"Well, firstly it's a sworn secret and secondly you wouldn't believe me. And please don't freak out."
"Are you kidding me?"
Michael
Her face was a sight. She was so pale that she almost looked like Carole's dead body. And he didn't need to look twice to comprehend that she was being murdered by those blood suckers, their pack knew about her and as them soon to be alpha, he had given her permission to work as a vampire hunter and retire in their neighbourhood itself.
And then as soon as he said not to freak out, she did.
"Mate? Pack? Did you seriously expect me not to freak out? For God's sake, the only male person I started to trust and be friends with turned into a werewolf! And you expect me not to freak out. My goodness, you could have killed me! You were so huge and why in the freaking hell did you chase me, I almost got killed!" He let her keep on rattling till she calmed down.
"And your welcome for saving you," he said.
"Well I wouldn't have run if you wouldn't have chased me," she shot back and then so softly, if it wasn't for his werewolf hearing, he wouldn't have heard her, "Thank you."
"I am sorry I chased you and I also need to talk to you privately about you sneaking out," his eyes glowed as it did when he was either very angry or aroused, to which she looked down, but he lowered his voice and continued, "But it's time you realized who you really are. Alexa Weinstein, you are a vampire. Not a full one, if not me nor the others could stay near you without tearing you apart. You've still got your mother's human blood, yet your father's vampire blood. That's why that other wolf also chased you, he was the same guy who wanted to take advantage of you the other day."
"No," she whispered and he realized that she was crying.
"Hey, it's okay," he reached for her and pulled her onto his lap. She straddled him and cried on his shoulder, her little body shaking slightly.
"No, please I can't be the kind who killed my own mother. I can't have those murderers' blood," she kept on talking to herself, while his heart ache for her. He kept his arms around her as her confession about vampires killing her mother made sense to him. He never met his aunt, but according to his dad, she was a vampire hunter. He rocked her till she passed out and carried her towards their home.
