The city was bustling with Sounds,
The honking of vehicles, the sound of tires rolling on concrete, the sound of thousands of footsteps all seemed to create a soothing music to one's ear.
The sky was cloudy with a heavenly light show on display into the bright afternoon sky.
The sun was shining bright.
It was a perfectly warm day in the middle of the cold harsh winters.
Amidst this sea of people there was one woman unanchored to the city life.
She was completely new to this.
She had never seen so many people before.
She was a new immigrant, who had come to the city in search for a new Utopia, one she wanted to create for herself and her family.
Suddenly someone whispered, in her ears.
It was so bizarre and out of the blue that she couldn't make sense of what they said.
She looked behind and there was no one.
From her right side, a small child holding hands of her grandmother went in the opposite direction.
'must be my imagination' she thought.
She walked on, she took a few steps.
Suddenly she was in front of an old hotel.
The crowd she had been surrounded by was gone and in front of her was an old half broken door.
The sky was now completely dark, the atmosphere - cold.
'where... Where am I?'
She asked in a guarded, fearful voice.
She backed a few steps offf when she heard the voice again.
The whispers.
The voice was cold as ice.
She looked behind but again, there was nobody there.
The voice said it again, 'open the door...'.
She turned behind again, as quickly as she could.
Again no-one was there...
Then suddenly a cold hand grabbed her from behind.
She tried to scream but suddenly another arm emerged from her behind and grabbed hold of her lips.
The grip being highly superhuman, fingers tearing into her tender flesh. The woman wanted to scream but no voice came out of her throat, standing there with cold feet she had no idea what to do.
The grip only tightened, the fingers slowly seeping into the woman's cheeks.
' I..... It... H....hur...t' she somehow managed, mustering up words in excruciating pain.
'open the door' said the voice behind her again.
The fingers now dripped with blood. A drop falling down the ground, Inducing a rush inside her.
She couldn't take it.
She started laughing, as loudly as she could.
Her cheeks hurt, but she did not care anymore.
The voice behind her whispered again, 'open the door'.
The voice was again, cold but for some reason it wasn't aggressive.
The hand on the checks slowly started to come out.
The woman kept in laughing.
Laughing as she kept on walking, near the door.
And then she did as the voice had commanded, she opened the door.
Suddenly an abysmal darkness surrounded the lady, the voice did not say a thing.
In this infinite darkness there was but one sound.
It was the sound of flesh being torn,
Torn to shreds.
Suddenly the scene shifted.
Everything went back to normal.
Sunny weather, bustling city, noises of all sorts of things, but in this melodic symphony one thing was missing,
Something fundamental.
It was, ALL THE PEOPLE...
