[You have garnered the wrath of the gardener. you have gained 2 DP points.]
Aiden didn't know if he should be happy or sad. But he would obviously not mind the free DP points.
He would happily put those points on his FP but his hands were colored green. With the same pungent smell of the dead Certics. But this wasn't because he needed to stay hidden, but the cause of the massacre he created. Dead bodies of the huge wolves laying before him.
Even for himself, it was kind of surprising. His hands not quivering in weakness like before. All because he gained a title when he placed five points on STR. which now had fifty points. aligning him with the title of the 'humanities strongest.'
what confused him was that he had always thought, he was the strongest among humans. a bit arrogant but with his physic. and with his system. he should have this title from the beginning.
"That means, there was someone stronger than me before this."
But that confused him even more as he thought the angel and the demon choose him because of his unnatural strength. but thinking about something to which he couldn't get any answers, was only a waste of time.
"well….having this title means, I don't need to be afraid of other people."

Germany, Hamburg city.
The once-known city of Germany was no more. The city of rivers, known as Hamburg was now covered with newfangled hills. Each hill, layered with dense forest. Certics moving everywhere, spreading their seed of nature. Their steps, increasing the evergreen grass and trees. Some killing imps, some playing with them. The wildlife of the hunter and the hunted was now indeed back like the dark ages.
And among the hunted. Staying at the bottom of the food chain were the once-proud humans. Their strength, lesser than the imp. Their speed, incomparable than of the wolves. The only thing the humans had were their weapons, advanced weapons. where most of them were already destroyed or buried deep within the hills and mountains. But all was not lost as some still remained…..
Bang!
The sound of the gunshot echoed. The many birds flying away from the trees.
"You imbecile! Why the hell did you use your gun?!" shouted a blond man, his looks in his 30's.
His stare was devastating, glaring at the tattered teenage girl, who was wearing a shredded hood, covering her head, like she was ashamed of her own looks. Her eyes, ready to tear at any moment with his yelling. "Do you know what you have done!?"
"b…but I had to.." she replied, looking back at the dead imp right by her side. She knew using her gun at a hilltop was the worst thing. But her reasons to live compelled her so. "wh..what do we do?"
The man sighed, but his now sharp ears caught the crunching of the grass. His steps quickly led him on top of a tree. His goggles trying to gaze through the thick forest. He wanted his thoughts to be wrong but, his eyes were clearing looking at those ten-foot hunters.
"They spotted us…" he said, quickly landing down with a thud.
"I am so s..sorry, Jurgen," said the girl, the panic on the man's eyes clear to her. She didn't need to ask more. who was after them now.
The man compressed his forehead in frustration. He wanted to scold her but it wasn't the time for such squabble. He took out his map right away. The map, drawn from a simple charcoal pencil. He didn't know if it was accurate but it was their only hope for survival. As it showed a safe house for humans.
He took out his compass. The most helpful thing he had ever found. "Thank god it's near. We will make it." he said in relief. "let's g…"
Bang!!
He was feeling relieved a couple of seconds before but that shot took it all away. Not because it would attract even more, not because they would now have less chance of survival, cause, he was the one who was on the receiving end.
His head dogged down to his stomach. His hands, touching his belly. Where the pain was starting to linger. His own red blood gapping out of his thick clothes. it was warm, it was painful but what he felt the most was…
"Surprised..?" asked the girl from behind.
He turned to her, the gun still pointing at him. "Why..lise..?" he asked. Blood starting to leak out from his own lips. His feet gave out right away. his hands trying to reach his own gun, but the innocent and naïve looking girl took it from him right away, and not to mention the Ak47 from his back.
"y…you….B..itch." the man said, blood still seeping out from his lips. he looked at her, the smile on her lips irritating him even more. The one who he thought was weak and naïve was now… "y..you fooled me.."
"Yes, Jurgen. I fooled you. Don't take this too hard. It's just for survival. I know we couldn't make it there. so…you know, a sacrifice was required." she nonchalantly said, her smile still intact.
She took the blood-stained map, and most of his stuff and jugged off right away. He resisted when she tried taking his compass from his bloodied hand but what could he do. his body losing more blood every second. the energy within his arms and legs gradually fading away.
Lise stopped. looking back at his dying figure. "it was not nice knowing you….Jurgen."
With her last words she paced forward-looking at the map, she was a geology student in her past and the way the map was drawn, she knew the safe place he was talking about was still far away. But all of a sudden. she heard a sudden ring in her ears. jump scaring her out of nowhere.
[You have gained the title 'The one who sees forward.' .]
She looked around in caution if another person was following her. she was afraid of those beasts but she was more afraid of her fellow kin, and what she did to Jürgen was a better example on its own.
"Who are you?!" she shouted, taking out her gun. "I know how to use it…don't you try to play with me?" she shouted again, the sense of panic increasing evermore.
She didn't hear anything right after, no steps, no gunshots. but what she saw were red dots from afar, jumping from one tree to another. which she didn't need goggles to confirm who those were.
"fucking shit!..."
she had thought, the sacrifice would be worth it but alas it didn't work well as she thought, she moved her feet asap. Cold sweat littering her back.
"fuck!, fuck!, fuck!..." she looked at the map once more, her gaze trying to comprehend where she should go. Even though she was stressed, her mind would always tik, trying to save her own flesh.
"Think Lise think!"
Her gaze on the map took a sharp turn at the fresh blood, clearly stuck on its paper. "Fuck! Why am I so dumb!" she said in frustration.
The right choice would be to throw away the map as far as possible. She knew what to do to survive the red herd. But her hands couldn't do anything but crunch the paper from bitterness. how could she? it was her only hope, her only lifeline.
'I would die either way….' she thought, taking the map in her arms, running as fast as possible. her legs trying to muster up any energy she had. she was running fast. faster than her previous self ever could. even faster than the fastest man ever recorded.
she felt something strange, she knew she was fast but not this fast. and it only became stranger as unknown energy started bubbling from within. Her body feeling a bit light as her feet paced faster and faster. She looked back, the red imps, who coming right at her tail now turning to red dot once more.
'I can do this….I can do this!...I can live!!!" she shouted from within. She would shout from her own tongue but her celebration turned short much faster than she thought. her eyes opening wide, seeing the green wolf right by her side, running at her prideful speed like it was child's play. and what disturbed her even more, was that she could see it. the grin on the wolf's face. Like it was enjoying the despair on her face.
'....I'm fucked.'
