Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: New Guests

"monkey? Me?" Aiden asked.

The lady smiled, knowing he could finally understand her. "yes….me…a cherub…follower of the almighty one…" she said, motioning her hand.

"they…..also cherub…he…my father…you understand?"

Aiden kept quiet. Speechless. She was first calling him a monkey then she was just plain insulting him. He wanted to rage out but he was mature enough to know what he needed to do.

Calming himself. He took in his 'force.' "I can properly speak….and understand. No need for…" he replied, shaking his hand as the lady did before.

"oh! You have enough intelligence.....haaa…. Dad, I told you so. Now I look like a fool." She complained. Looking back.

The old man clenched his forehead. Tired as a normal father should be. "how many times have I told you? Call me commander when we are on duty." He said. His voice, now understandable for Aiden to hear.

All the men behind the old man were still quiet. Not a single movement, not a single lapse of voice. All nine of them steady like stone.

"you!" the old man shouted. His voice, sending shivers to Aiden. Taking his full attention. "you are one of those pesky humans, right? Or are you something different?" he said, gazing at his unique golden hair.

Aiden could only nod, his lips staying shut from such glaring eyes. It reminded him of his school days. Where the teachers would always scold him for no good reason.

"good….you seem like a monkey who could use some force. You must be aware of the blips, right? If you are useful, you will live, if you are not. You die. Now talk."

"dad!" shouted the lady, puffing her right cheek.

"call me commander! And I gave him an option, didn't I?"

Aiden gulped, as he could feel it, the power within his threat. the weight behind his words to come. He needed to decide quickly. Tell the truth and die or lie and then die a moment after. For the first time after feeling strong and powerful within the den of certics, imps, and many physically improved animals. He felt small before him. With every second passed as he laid his eyes upon him, the smaller and smaller he felt.

"I…I know the way." He said.

The old man smiled, lowering his bloodthirst. "haha….I guess you wanted to die a little later." He said, his tone commanding as ever.

The blond woman was still angry but what could she do. They were in battlegrounds and in battlegrounds. Orders were meant to be followed. No question asked. She paced near the human she found interesting. Gesturing him to come near.

"don't worry. I will declare you my pet. So he won't be able to kill you after." She said like it was natural.

Aiden wanted to smack the woman in her head but he knew the sword in the old man's back would come at his neck first.

'….I thought she was kind but she is looking at me like she is looking at a cute puppy….that's…that's…haaaa.'

Aiden didn't know how he should comprehend the circumstance they were facing. But more necessarily he needed to survive from this new ordeal and save his friends in the process.

'what the fuck should I do?' he walked forward, thinking deep. Leading them away from his home, far away. 'first I need to take them away from the apartment.'

He walked past the bushes, trying to blind them with the tall trees. As his building was the only one with fewer vines and a great wall build around it. Which in simple terms, would be visible right away, if they were a few steps ahead.

"Aiden!!"

'fuck!' Aiden cursed. Listening to Akia's voice from afar.

"Aiden!....who are they?" she asked. Her pace, slowing down as her eyes gazed upon the armored newcomers. Her attention, easily taken by their ears.

"oh…who do we have here…..?" asked the old man. Surprised to see such a delicate-looking human, surviving until now.

the blond lady couldn't help but stare at the white-headed girl. Taking his arms on hers. Like he was trying to take her pet away.

"I will handle this. We only need one…." She said, shaving out her thin sword from her waist.

Aiden couldn't help but sign, being treated like such lowlife, and he lost his patience when the woman dared to point the sword at Akia oh so suddenly.

'fear inducement!'

All he needed was a second, a second of her hesitation. And hesitate she did. Her eyes, opening wide in feeling his aura, blasting out like a predator. Forcing a small gap within her steady and trained mentality.

'flash!'

With his new katana-like sword equipped. He flashed ahead. His sword, tearing through the air with nigh speed. Taking advantage of their short distance, he didn't hesitate to swing at her neck. As it inched near the only gape within her neck cover.

"wait!" ordered the old man.

"if you even touch a single hair on her, your daughter is dead," Aiden said, his eyes still on the blond woman like a wolf's hungry eyes and his sword already touching her neck, like his fangs resisting the urge to bite.

He didn't need to look back, where the old man held Akia with his small knife, inching near her neck.

"haaa….I told your mother, bringing you here was a mistake." Said the old man gritting his teeth.

The blond lady couldn't help but agree, but couldn't move his head to agree so as she could feel the sword touching her neck, as the sharp pain slowly lingered with the warm feeling of blood, leaked within her skin.

She couldn't speak, she couldn't move, the deathly glare from the man before him still on her like the reaper he was.

The other guards panicked, not sure what to do. But the single gaze from their commander said everything.

'don't fucking move, until my daughter's safe.'

The order was sound and clear. Their bearings at their position, doing nothing but gaze and attack at the right opportunity.

"leave her and I will let her go." The old man said calmly.

Aiden couldn't help but smile. "do you think I am dumb? if I let her go, you will kill me and my friend the second later."

Hearing such words, Akia couldn't help but gulp. Her mind, trying to understand what was going on. Yes, she knew it was her fault and Aiden had said, not to follow him in these times.

"I told you. Not to follow me in these times, senpai." His tone, being a bit frustrated.

"….sorry. people suddenly appeared under our basement, I thought…calling you back was the right decision." she said, her voice icing with guilt.

'what? People just appeared?....wait, don't tell me?!'

"Need a hand?" said a cold voice from above.
