Chapter 45 - Complicated Life

Ch-45

"Now everyone, leave, except the brides and bride mothers," Elphaba said.

Everyone left leaving the four women with Elphaba. "Serene first, everyone, wait outside," Elphaba said.

Everyone left.

Serene came out in really five minutes. Lenora was surprised but again the one inside is a witch.

Serene asked her mother to go inside.

Eudora entered the hall gracefully and looked charming like ever.

"Earlier I haven't said. But I will say now. You are more graceful than the tales that were spread across the world, and you are more beautiful than the stories that described your beauty," Elphaba said.

"I am flattered by your praise, My Lady," Eudora said with a small smile.

"She is innocent," Elphaba said.

Eudora furrowed her brows at her words.

"I am talking about Victoria," Elphaba added when she saw her furrowed brows.

Eudora was surprised at her words.

"I know it, My Lady. I know everything. But I am not commanded by the god to reveal everything. But trust me. She is innocent and a victim like your other daughter but got burnt for everything. She became a scapegoat for the things she didn't do," Elphaba said.

"Who is guilty?" Eudora asked.

"That is for you to find. Trust your instincts while finding," Elphaba said.

"Thank you, My Lady," Eudora said.

Eudora was silent all these years because the evidence shows her daughter was guilty yet her heart believes she isn't guilty. But the underlying evidence made her shut her mouth and made her believe everything. If she had stood by her side at that time, maybe things have been different now.

But she can't cry over spilled milk. Everything was done and dusted. Now all she can do was treat her better and find the truth.

"Can you call your daughter while leaving?" Elphaba said bringing her out of her thoughts.

Lenora entered the room after Eudora passed the information to her.

"My Lady," Lenora said. She has many things going on her mind.

They were things about her brother and herself. If her brother's intentions were that clear to others to see it would affect the pact. And her fiance not just anybody to take lightly. The truth of Ophelia's existence and her real face came out making her worried further. The Elder Vampires were not somebody who would care about the other things than the pact. Her sister-in-law was cold from the morning after breakfast. Now Eudora knew about her rival's true face. She has to make sure she doesn't snap a witch cum vampire. Anger was the most deadly emotion possessed by the Vampires. They behave like brainless people sometimes because of anger. Controlling her was very important. But she doesn't even like Lenora like in past. She was given silent or distant treatment for years.

Ufff… things were getting complicated as time passed.

She wished she could get a break but couldn't. She sighed sadly.

"If you were not a dead person, I would like to listen to the things that are going in your head," Elphaba said with a chuckle. Lenora chuckled coming out of her thoughts hearing her words.

"I wish I wasn't a dead person," Lenora added too. Yeah… if she wasn't a dead person, she wouldn't have to be a vampire. She would have been a human but her mother was a witch cum vampire. Sigh… looks like life was hell-bent on making her anything but human.

"I know. You are more than a dead person," Elphaba said.

"What does it mean, My Lady?" Lenora asked. More than a dead person? Was there a twist in her life again? Or was she also a witch cum vampire? If it was it makes sense about her breathing heart.

Oh, wait… it doesn't. She didn't have a beating heart before but now… she has. And she doesn't possess any witchy skills. She's just overthinking. This's another riddle she has to figure out. Sigh… life is getting further complicated as time passed.

"You will know when the time comes," Elphaba said, making Lenora feels confused.

"Keep Ophelia with you before you send her to Valorine. She will guide you," Elphaba said.

Lenora was confused again. She wondered what was wrong with this woman. This woman was really confusing.

"You may leave," Elphaba said. Lenora turned around to leave.

"Call your sister-in-law before you leave," Elphaba said when Lenora was about to turn the doorknob. Lenora nodded and left.
