Chapter 20 - Differences

Ch-17

Lenora woke up with the rough yank of her maid Celia.

"Lady Celia, remember I am a lady. Give me some respect that I deserve!" Lenora said in an annoyed tone.

How could she not? This woman yanked her blanket just like that!

And she feels it's the biggest crime to commit to yank a blanket when a person is sleeping!

"Then behave like a lady, Lady Lenora," she heard Eudora's voice.

Oh no! The real trouble was here.

"There is a ball. I have prepared a dress. Get ready. And behave like a proper lady. You will be meeting your future husband," Eudora said before leaving.

"How could this world be so cruel. Can't even let me sleep. Sobs," she started her drama as she mumbled under her breath.

But Eudora still heard her words. She said nothing, just smiled to herself hearing her. She wondered what was the reason for her change. She wasn't like this. But it's okay as long as she doesn't change things. Lenora was a smart woman. She was so smart that she can bring a great war between two races while she flees away without a single scratch.

And she doesn't want that. She needs to keep an eye on Lenora now. If not, who knows what calamity she brings.

Her change can either be good or bad. If it's good it's okay. If not… she wasn't ready to bring a calamity or take risks.

Lenora got up and freshened up. She won't be in a white long dress. It's a floor-length white frock with a collar neck stitched with fine work of golden leaves of climbers on her chest. A single line of fine golden thread work of same yet spacious climbers was stitched around her skirt making her dazzle with every step she took.

She wore her hair in a high bun. And decorated her hair with a golden leaf hairpin. Celia applied light red beeswax to her lips before ending her look perfectly with it.

"Is it time to attend the banquet?" Lenora asked.

"Yes, My Lady," Celia said.

As they walked out, a woman from the werewolf race was already waiting for them. She gestured for them to walk forward with her hands.

They both followed her to the venue. The venue was filled with both races. Werewolves were on one side while Vampires were on the other side. It looked like they were going to fight anytime.

If they were meant to have a truce then both sides at least try to b friendly. Lenora felt like she was going to watch a big joke of the millennium.

She won't be surprised if her wedding turns out into a bloody wedding.

Oh wait, it's just not a wedding but weddings.

It's plural. Uffo…. This would be exciting.

She ran her eyes through the werewolf race. They looked handsome. She has to agree they were blessed with looks, bodies and testosterone. They weren't pale like Vampires who make her feel nauseous all the time.

It's just that they were a bit roguish and untamed. But that made them further handsome. Vampires dress neatly because they try to impersonate humans. And they wear thinner clothes than anyone else because they can't feel cold. And they would love to live in the cold all their life.

After all, Vampires were nothing but walking dead bodies. Cold can keep them feeling fresh.

While Werewolves are someone alive with blood flowing through their veins along with a beating heart.

While Vampires never have a beating heart. A heart can pump and put their blood fresh. But when one has no heart, there is no purification of blood and the blood will dry out. So.m. drinking blood was important for vampires to keep walking and to be alive. As for werewolves, drinking blood was just a choice.

Vampires are a threat to nature, unlike Werewolves. That's why nature created the werewolves race to wipe vampires out. The werewolves were nothing but Vampire Killers.
