Are you that dumb?he asked jokingly making her finally glare at him.
What, you just called me dumb, she said looking at him and moved to punch him when she realized she was still on his lap and blushed making him laugh.
Are you trying to say you don't remember when I asked you out,he said and she was quiet again.
You did ask me out?,she asked to confirm and he nodded gently.
Oh,then why are you acting indifferent, like nothing is going on,she said.
Well for starters you haven't given me a clear answer yet and I am still waiting patiently,he said.
So are you ready to tell me an answer,he asked and she was surprised by his question.
You seem rather eager to get an answer, she said.
Says who was disappointed when I said I didn't ask her out,he mocked her and she glared at him before standing up from his lap but she slipped and fell on him as they both fell on the bed, with her on top of him with widened eyes.
She was there for a while and realized their intimate position and wanted to stand up when he dragged her back by her waist making her fall back on him.
Now you're making excuses to be close to me,he said as she blinked repeatedly.
No..I didn't mean to..it was an accident,she said.
Sure it was,now are you ready to give me an answer?,he asked and her heart was beating rapidly as he stared at her.
Umm...I,she started but was cut short.
how about I ask you out again,he said.
Alexa will you be my girlfriend,he said and there was a long pause before sje finally responded but nodding her head after that she hid her face on his chest,he smiled as he patted her head.
So that means those girls in school that try to come close to you will distance themselves right, she asked him as she still laid on his chest.
Am not sure about that, but I can assure you that I don't have eyes for any one of them, you're the only one I love and protect,he said causing a stir in her heart as she looked up at him.
I'll protect you also, she said and he smiled gently while she continued to lay on him.
As she lay there, something tugged at the corners of her mind. A memory, faint at first, started to resurface. She frowned, her brows furrowing slightly, until it clicked. Her mom. Panic surged through her, momentarily overshadowing her happiness. "Geez, my mom must be worried," she muttered aloud, her voice tinged with concern.
Ayden tightened his hold on her and let out a soft murmur. "Hmm?"
Alexa's eyes widened as the realization hit her fully. "I wasn't home yesterday," she said, her tone betraying a mix of guilt and anxiety. She shifted to face Ayden, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns on his chest. "I didn't tell her I was staying out."
Ayden blinked his eyes open, his gaze locking onto hers. He gave her a gentle smile, his fingers brushing away a strand of hair from her face. "Hey, it's okay," he reassured her, his voice soothing. "I already took care of that."
Confusion clouded Alexa's expression. "Took care of what?"
His smile widened, and he chuckled softly. "I told your mom that you were working on a school project and ended up spending the night at a friend's house."
A mixture of surprise and gratitude swept over Alexa. She hadn't expected Ayden to take such initiative, and yet, here he was, easing her worries with his simple gesture. "You did?"
He nodded, his thumb caressing her cheek. "Yep. I didn't want her to worry, so I thought it'd be best to let her know you were safe."
Alexa felt her heart swell, overwhelmed by Ayden's thoughtfulness. She leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, a silent thank-you passing between them. "You're amazing, you know that?"
He chuckled again, his fingers tracing lazy circles on her back. "Just trying to make things easier for you."
She nestled back into his embrace, a sense of peace washing over her. "Well, you definitely succeeded," she murmured, her voice filled with warmth. "Thank you."
By the way way you helped me more than I helped you,he said matter of fact.
Kiara's heart still raced from the whirlwind of emotions that had taken her on an unexpected journey with Ayden. As she stepped inside her home, she felt a mix of relief and uncertainty. The magical adventure was behind her, but the memories lingered, vivid and surreal.
Her mother greeted her with a warm smile, unaware of the extraordinary events that had transpired. "Hey, Kiara. How did your school project go?"
Kiara's lips curved into a smile that masked her inner turmoil. "It went well, Mom," she replied, her voice steady. She was skilled at hiding her true feelings, even when her heart was racing with secrets.
Her mother nodded approvingly. "I'm glad to hear that. You've been putting in a lot of effort lately."
As her mother continued to chat, Kiara's mind wandered to Ayden, to the world she had visited, and the feelings that still tugged at her heart. She excused herself to take a shower, the warm water soothing her nerves and washing away the traces of magic that clung to her skin.
Wrapped in a towel and feeling refreshed, Kiara lay down on her bed, allowing herself a moment of respite. Her thoughts drifted to Ayden and what had happened that day it was to surreal. She closed her eyes and let the memories replay like a vivid dream, a smile playing on her lips.
She touched her neck gently and could still feel the bite mark on her neck,it stung a bit.
The gentle creaking of the stairs pulled her back to reality, and she realized it was time for lunch. With a deep breath, Kiara pushed herself off the bed and made her way downstairs. The scent of homemade soup wafted through the air, comforting and inviting.
Her mother had set the table, and Kiara took a seat, her mind still awash with thoughts of the magical adventure. She scooped a spoonful of soup into her mouth, savoring the warmth and the familiarity of home. Her mother glanced at her, a curious look in her eyes.
"Is everything all right, sweetie?" her mother asked gently, concern lacing her voice.
