By the time that he was getting close to his throne room, the guard in duty bowed and then pushed open the door, sent his body in and walked out.
Once out, Alpha Colten walked inside the room, everywhere was dead silent, and they were all standing.
Could it have been him that brought out this obedience in them or is it for the fact that he came when they decided to be less noisy?
But they were quiet because of him. His guard told them about his arrival and since they were all scared of him, they kept quiet and stood from their seats.
Colten, a king of few words sat down waiting the subject matter that gathered the kings of the 12 kingdoms and the princes and princess of the principalities to gather in his courtroom at such early hours of the morning.
He frowned, not failing to notice the smugs most had on their faces.
Something was fishy and it was a shamed, he couldn't access their mind. They were of high ranks and even higher than himself, some of them. They had acquired lots of territories and were powerful rulers. But none could compare to him because he built an empire from the ash remains and was a king who had enormous power.
'Deconias!' He called in his head and the man answered almost immediately.
"Yes, my king."
"Prepare the men for battle. I fear the turnout of events from this meeting might not be pleasant at all." He told the old man and after a final confirmatory yes, Deconias sprung for the royal training camp so as to do as his king had ordered.
Like Colten thought, the kings weren't there for talks. They had scornful looks on their faces and he was yet to know what brought them to his courtroom.
"You look furious and full of mischief, Prince Draken. You must have some important information for me." He asks Draken and the prince scoffs.
The prince, dressed in royal attire with shoulder length black hair and ox blood red eyes, just rolled his eyes.
There was something these people were not telling him and were yet to tell him. But he feared it might be something he might not like.
"We will like to dissolve the no-slave system and possess lots and lots of slaves." Now the princess of the Morla principality spoke. Her eyes beheld so much admiration for Alpha Colten in as much as they held scorn and disgust as she looked at the king.
Deep down, she was crazily in love with him. She admired him so much. Her principality seemed small but was the richest when it came to the exploits of gold and the possession of rich soils. She had a huge liking for the king of Morcliff and the king didn't fail to notice it.
However, what came out of her mouth ruled out any little iota of admiration for a woman that owned her own place that was topping in gold extraction. He became furious. As he became king and the official leader of the king's courts, he abolished the system of slaves and it was so for years. He did have servants but not slaves.
"And why should it be abolished? Who came up with the new system?" He asked, his eyes blazing with anger.
He couldn't decipher **Alpha Order** what was going on. The smug smiles on their faces, clearly showed some sort of mischief and plans. Were they planning on taking over his throne?
"Anger is such a response we do not accept from the king who takes as slaves mated and unmated wolves of whatsoever pack in this world." King Philip threw at him.
Philip was a werewolf like many of them. He however was never addressed as an Alpha before Colten. Colten was human, no doubts and he possessed extreme skills.
"Whether I take as slaves even people of high nobility as you, has nothing to do with you and shouldn't be questioned by anyone." Colten roared, a thunderous warning that sent most shooting back on their seats.
They could feel his roar reach them and trembled in fear.
They didn't want to be on the king's bad side, so they shut their mouths.
Colten, however was shocked and amazed.
Why couldn't he see it earlier? If they abolish the no-slave rule, then the wolves will resume oppressing lowly humans and weaker ones. But what he feared the most was what they might do to his lady, who rested in her chambers peacefully. If he fails to annul their decision, then he will have to protect her from the Phalcon's eyes.
King Philip was a jealous king and he was going to go extra miles just so that he can be the one to of where he sits. A light smile cut up his cheeks.
"Was it your idea, Philip?" He asked and King Philip raged. He hated being addressed by his name without a title. Especially by a man like Colten.
"It sure wasn't your intentions to tell me this today. So I will spare you all. If you try as much as raise the topic again, you are all dead. I hope you understand." Colten stood up and walked out of his courtroom, angered by the idea that they wanted to put back the slave system. He wasn't going to let it happen.
But something must have triggered the sudden decision to return the slave system and he was yet to find out what it was that triggered such a statement.
