After the little moment of word exchange between Lady Anika and the Alpha, she stood up and left the palace.
"I won't be seeing you off, lady Anika. I hope you don't mind. I have a lot to handle in my study." As he said those words, he left.
Lady Anika's lips spasmed. She was utterly displeased at the fact that he was not going to see her off but she wasn't going to speak it out, nor dwell on it. As long as he had no woman in his life, then she wasn't going to worry.
She came here out of worry but it seems like she didn't need to worry, especially after hearing him acting strangely cold towards the banquet issue, she had mentioned before.
So she left his palace, since he was not going to see her off, she could see herself out of here, without any problem, and she could come back anytime she wanted.
Meanwhile, Colten took a different direction from the route through which he came to the garden and met up with Elliana who was busy trying to cause trouble for herself and for him as well.
He eyed the guards with a look, that said, "you're dead" and the guards immediately fell on their knees.
"We are sorry, sire. My Lady pushed us and was running as fast as she could, so we couldn't meet up with her speed and also you-"
"That's enough." Colten didn't want to hear them tell him about the strict warning he had given them. Although, he was making it obvious his likes for her, she wasn't ready to acknowledge nor even consider it... The only thing on her mind was her mate bond and he wanted to destroy the nonsense chain before getting her.
However, if they told him about the warning he had given them; never to catch her and let her do as she pleases in his palace, then she might notice that he had a liking for her... So he wasn't going to let it happen, but just make her want him even the more.
Besides, it was more fun to see her quiver in fright, and still have the guts to talk back at him whenever she felt like she was talking to her mate.

Somewhere, a young girl walked inside a small cot and saw an old woman, with wrinkly face, and greyish hair, her eyes were white and her head focused in a direction. She supported her weak body on the stick in her hand.
When she heard the door open, to reveal the young girl, she smiled... "You returned quite early, didn't you, Sage?" The woman asked the young lady with crystal like white hair. Her eyes were piercing raisn-like, yet they had the most gentle appearance ever.
She smiled as she saw the woman sitting by the fireplace, but her smile wasn't complete.
"Of course, I will return early grandmother. When the fields have decided not to yield any fruit, what shall I do then?" She sighed and sat beside her grandmother after closing the door behind her.
This woman was more than family to Sage.
She could still remember when she was lost and the woman found her. She had no memories of where she came from, just fragments which were meaningless because all she will see is light and hear voices but can not distinguish whatever they were saying.
She had discarded the thoughts of her memories, untill when her powers started to manifest.. she was very confused and in the end, hurt her dearest grandmother.
But grandmother never held it against her as she knew it was never the child's intention to try to harm her.
Rather, grandmother was nice to her and even helped her to control her uncontrollably increasing magic power. She knew Sage had a bright future. Her destiny was going to be even greater than many that already exist, ever existed and will ever exist.
"I'm hungry, Sage." She hurriedly said, noticing how aggrieved Sage was.
She might be blind, but she was very perceptive. It seems as a compensation for her sight, the gods decided to bless her with even greater senses. She might just be the perfect person after all.

Upon seeing the bodyguards go down on their knees, I quickly went down on mine.
"I'm sorry, your majesty. If I knew that doing this will earn my arms and legs being chopped off before I die, then I wouldn't have left the room." I began to cry uncontrollably.
It really wasn't my fault. I was just compelled to leave the room.
"(Sobs) I'm sorry your majesty. (Sobs) they tried to catch me. Please don't punish them for what I did. I know my punishment this time around is a heavy price... I am willing to take it all." I cried bitterly again.
Ever since I was young, I have never been compelled to sit on one place. I always ran away from the house and ran away from chores, especially if mother and father wanted me to work. I will run in the wild in my original form and then admire the beauty of places around and so, mom and dad were never worried about me.
But I stupidly tried to behave that way, I didn't know that this man was far different than my parents. He was not saying anything so I gathered the little courage I had and looked up his face. I noticed his usually warm, yet cold gaze shifted away from me. I couldn't see his eyes, at this time, and he seemed speechless.
Oh Lord! Have I killed the king!
