As he approached the garden, he could see the red long dress that was on the floor, a line of royal maids that awaited outside the garden with baskets full of rose petals. Their feet were covered with embedded-with-beads, slippers.
The long red dress, extended from the top of the stairs that descended about 3 steps to the garden and then it went to the table, where a lady sat, holding a glass and lost in her thoughts.
Lady Anika was dressed in a red dress with a square shaped neckline, beautifully adorned with red scales. The arms of her dress were elbow length and they opened up at the level of the elbow.
The gown was designed with a red fabric from the finest of finest and it descended down her body, to the level of the knee, opening up slightly at the knee to the floor. However, a deep split line on the gown from above the knee level, carefreely exposed her long beautiful, spotless legs. On her neck was a long trail that reached the stair. While her raven black hair was styled up in a high ponytail and a hairpin inserted inside of it and a piece of coral jewel was placed on the head.
It was her mark of superiority but Colten wasn't moved by it.
If not for the fact that she was of great help to him, 3 years back, then he doesn't know if she will be alive today or she will be seated here with him.
"What brings the precious lady, here this morning?" Colten's voice sounded and she smiled and then stood up upon hearing his voice.
Her teeth sparkled as she watch her Majesty, come down the stairs to meet her. He was bright like the sun and his presence brought out the her in her.
She was so in love with Colten and had been for a very long time.
"Greetings, your majesty." She greeted with the smile in her face and then Colten nodded before sitting, urging her to sit back down on the chair.
"I came to visit my Lord. It's been long since you came to my abode, so I came here to see you and know how you have been fairing." She answered cautiously. She had her head bowed a little with a slight decent smile formed on her face.
Colton nodded. He didn't visit her in a while and he kind of felt bad for it. But he wasn't going to apologise to her for not visiting. It is his decision to and not the other way round.... Besides, he seldom visited her... However, it had been really long that he visited her.
"I have been busy. So what exactly brings you here?" He asked. His patience was running out especially noticing that Elliana was not in her bed. She was running around his palace while his servants followed her around, trying to catch her to no avail.
He didn't want her to mistakenly enter the garden because he didn't want anyone to know of her stay.
The more the people that knew of her stay in his palace, then the more she was in danger. So he wanted to avoid getting her in danger.
However, Anika noticed how uncannily he behaved and just pretended not to notice and only sipped from the glass in her hand.
She was here for one reason only....
The banquet!
It was going to be held tomorrow and it will be held at the Phalcon's Lord palace...
The king's banquet was indeed a great gathering and during that period, the kings will bring forth their queens to attend with them, in order to show off the beauty of the women and wolves in their lives.
Colten, though, was never one to attend such luxurious events. But she wanted him to attend this year... Who knows, it might be her chance to finally tie the knot with him.
"I wanted to find out, sire... Are you having a date for the king's banquet of tomorrow?" Anika asked but Colten couldn't understand her question, not like the words were difficult for him to understand. They were just not of any interest to him that he could say he just heard her question in bits.
So he could only blurt out a "huh"
She smiled, knowing fully well that Colten was not paying keen attention to her. She had notice his mind was somewhere else, despite his presence in the garden with her.
So she had to repeat herself, but before she could even repeat herself, he still showed no interest in listening to her and even spoke before her.
"I don't think I will attend the banquet. I am not fun if those things, and you know it." She smiled reassuringly. Seems like, she was worried for nothing, so she took a sip from the drink in the glass cup.

It took a while for me to return to my senses and notice that the cold emperor had left. Talk about cold, all he does is to smile like one crazy evil man. A smile that doesn't tell of whether he is angry or not. It's cunning and very deceiving.
Mom used to tell me a lot about his kind, they will smile and plunge the world into eternal chaos whenever they take things seriously.
He probably doesn't want to ruin everything just yet. He is reserving the few for an eternity worst than death... I can only wonder... What is worst than staying in the same vicinity as the person who is considered as the most evil man on earth? The only person whom no one can look in the eyes.
Ah! Just a few hours before I am finally killed for daring to look at the Alpha of Morcliff in the eyes.
I should probably take a walk in this boring place. It might do me good to see the place where I will be killed, right... I might even get to see the inhabitants of this place, maybe they are all languishing in suffering or they are living happily.
Well it should be obvious.
I open the door, ready to head out of the room only to be greeted by two bodyguards. The hell!
"Well, hi to you too." I greet them, a little nervous.
"My Lady, are you going out of your room."
"Yes!"
"We are sorry but we can't let you out. The Alpha gave strict instructions not to let you out of your room or our heads will answer to him."
I shrieked a little but did his guards have to blaspheme him in such a manner?
"Give way. I only want to see the palace, nothing more. It's not like I am running away." I pushed them aside... That was easy though and began running for it.
However, I ran straight into a stumbling block... "Ouch!" I cried.
"Going somewhere!" The hoarse voiced shocked me to my bones, I dared not to move... This is the end for me.... The Alpha, will kill me today.
