Chapter 12 - Second Card

Yes! Yes! I am alive. HAHAHAHA Did you see that fate? I am better than you. You think you could kill me? Well, you thought wrong. Nothing can kill me. I will show you and everyone else that I am unkillable, that I am the best, and I will stand above all. I would continue to declare all the things I did to the sky, only stopping when I saw the familiar cards showing up again. It was five cards this time, two of which were three stars, and the other three were two stars. One of the three stars card has a picture of a demon with all sorts of weapons around it. They all have a domineering aura around them. The other three stars card show a demon inside a tornado. Of the two stars, one of them shows an image similar to the Longbottom card, and the other two stars show a demon slicing a rock in half. The last two stars card shows a demon that can extend his body parts.

Looking at the card choices, I quickly removed the two stars from my decision because, why pick inferior when you can get superior? Now the question is, do I want to control the wind or have powerful weapons? If I were still human, choosing to use the power of wind control would be an easy decision. Why have weapons when you can make tornados, whirlwinds, and etc. Having control over the wind would make you the best killing machine. You have both area of effect attacks and single focus attacks. If you fight a group of humans, just summon a tornado and it's a guarantee that every single one of them is going to die. If you were to assassinate someone, or kill someone without any effort, simply manipulate the air out of their lungs, and they would quickly be dead. All the things mentioned would only be effective if they were against normal humans, the ones that are vulnerable to almost everything in the world.

However, from my battles, my enemies aren't normal humans. They are card users with supernatural powers and demons that can bulldoze a house if they want to. Of course, I am not underestimating the strength of a three stars card. My colossal might and the commander's three stars card show how powerful a three stars card could be compared to a two stars card. So the wind three stars card could have other effects than wind manipulation, but still, wind manipulation wouldn't correlate well with my colossal might. Colossal might enhance endurance and strength, the fighting style is to go up close and personal with the enemy, dealing big damage. If I included wind manipulation in my arsenal, I would be wasting a lot of potential for colossal might because I am not properly utilizing my strength. True, wind manipulation would get rid of my flaw in range combat, but there are other effective ways to fight someone with long range attacks. I could use colossal might enhancement to throw rocks at high speed against a long range base combatant. Either damaging them or distracting them by giving me a chance to dispatch them. There are many other techniques that can be used to reduce my flaws in range combat. It would be a stupid idea to use a rare resource to cover your weakness instead of increasing your core power.

This would mean that the three stars card that shows the weapon would be the best fit for me because, as shown inside the card, they're all cold weapons. Weapons that are designed to use strength and endurance to best the enemy, something that colossal might is great at doing. While colossal might isn't as effective as it was in the beginning, it still has an ocean wide room to expand upon. With those cold weapons and a developed colossal might, it would be even more difficult to reach my body in close range combat to deal a critical blow due to the distance made by my weapon and gigantic arm. Also, seeing that colossal is be able to grow stronger, the three stars card with weapons in it would possibly give me a weapon that can grow to become stronger. This would lead me to not have any problems in finding the perfect weapon to use.

So, without further ado, I choose the three stars card with weapons. When I picked up the card, I felt my mind go blank.

================================================================

Inside a white room, you can see cold weapons silhouettes of all sorts hovering around the room with a question mark engraved in the middle of every weapon. Each gives an aura of nothingness, like blank paper. The weapons range from great swords, two-edged swords, one-edge swords, spears, shields, maces, hammers, and etc.

Looking at all the cold weapons, the weapons that get my interest are the heavy weapons. One that has a great burst of power but trades speed. Colossal might doesn't give me a boost in speed, so picking weapons like daggers, rapiers, one-edge swords, and etc. isn't the best option for me. They are made with the purpose of dealing with quick attacks and deadly attacks. Colossal might fighting style is to strike with the purpose of dealing a powerful and domineering attack that would devastate the enemy.

Which among all the heavy weapons would then best fit a colossal might fighting style? The weapon that I picked is a great sword. The reason is simply that it's the most versatile of the heavy weapons. A hammer could destroy the enemy defense with powerful blunt attacks, but it is difficult to finish a fight quickly, and it is mostly offensive. A great axe is similar in that it is a powerful weapon that can completely cut through enemy defenses but does not have enough surface area to protect you from attacks. The great sword is the most versatile because it has enough surface area to serve as a shield. It can serve as a blunt weapon if used with its face, and a sharp weapon if used with its sides. While it doesn't do the same damage as its axe and hammer brothers, it still does more damage than its smaller cousins, the two-edged swords and the one-edged sword.

With enough analysis, I picked the great sword. As I touched the sword, it started to shine brightly, morphing itself. Slowly, it started to become bigger, and wider too. The sword now exudes a suffocating aura around it, making one feel like they're in the presence of a towering giant. Colors start to slowly appear on the blade, painting it crimson like blood. As the colors come in, crimson runes start to flow around the sword, giving you a vision of a blood-soaked world filled to the brim with mountains of corpses and rivers of blood. When the runes and colors were all filled in, the blade of the abnormally giant great sword started to crack, with red crimson light escaping from it. After a moment, the blade exploded, revealing a crystal like sword that faintly glowed with crimson red light. (If you want to see the sword picture, check the comments.)

I was so taken with its beauty that I grabbed the hilt before naming it "Crimson Light."Like a sleeping beast, after I named the great sword, it exuded a menacing aura around it before everything went blank.

================================================================

I opened my eyes to see right there in front of me, Crimson Light, in all its majesty, hovering in the air waiting for its master to accept it. I grab the hilt to feel a great bond between the sword and me. I swing Crimson Light a couple of times, feeling like the sword and I are one. I continue to swing and get a feel for the great sword, only stopping when I feel Crimson Light communicating to me internally that it wants blood. At first, I felt surprised, not expecting it to be alive. Nevertheless, I quickly calmed myself since the world I am living in now is filled with miracles. So, with the goal of killing some people to feed my sword, I quickly travel out of the city to find any life. Carrying a four-meter-long, two-meter-wide sword
